When I was rejected twice for disability, a friend’s husband who is a divorce attorney recommended Mr Simon because he’d heard about how successful he is - and he was absolutely right!
Because of Mr. Simon’s expertise & extensive experience, it wasn’t even necessary to go to hearing after he provided specific questionnaires/evaluations for my Doctors to answer. Therefore, the Judge ruled favorably in advance for my case. This is above & beyond what I expected.

A few years ago, my sister and I found our selves in a most difficult circumstance that centered around a legal issue that my father, who was dying in the hospital, had failed to resolve. Suffice to say, we were emotionally wrought and desperate for help. I had reached out to a few other lawyers, most of whom never bothered to return my call and if they did, were more interested in their up-front fees, than offering helpful counsel.
Fortunately, we found Brian and he immediately understood the gravity of the situation and was able to map out a plan of action. His calm demeanor, and solid knowledge of the law, kept an already difficult situation from becoming worse. Talk about going the extra mile, he even came to the hospital to meet my father – not a place most lawyers go -- and make sure that the matter was resolved properly.
After our father passed, Brian was instrumental in taking care of some of difficult and confusing paperwork including title-transfers and other filings that we had no idea were legally required. He also counseled us on the importance of having a will, or a trust, the value of advance health-care-directives, and other important pre-need paperwork.
Brian Sheppard is first and foremost a man of integrity and principle, well-versed in the nuances of the law, and fundamentally a man with the courage to do what is right. Over the years, I have had occasion to call him with a simple a question and he has gentlemanly and generously resolved the matter without an outrageous bill.
Our only regret is that we weren’t able to avail ourselves of Brian’s services earlier.

Patricia is top notch. I knew from the first conversation over the phone with her I had the right lawyer. She was the only one who would take my case after calling many others. I’m under 40 and had injuries where other lawyers wrote me off and said I had no chance but Patricia believed in my case and treated me with respect. I was denied after my initial application, retained Patricia, and won at the first hearing after the reconsideration denial. It took about 1 yr and 2 months after the reconsideration to have my hearing. On that day I felt good and prepared thanks to Patricia. I witnessed her fight for me in the hearing. And during it all I had to do was be honest. When I had questions about treatment decisions affecting my case Patricia always said “ do what’s best for your health.” There was never any pressure and I felt I could choose accordingly. Every deadline was met and responses from the SSA were handled. She is a lawyer you want by your side. I want to thank her, Sue, and her staff. When I think about Patricia McCabe and her staff, I get so lost for words. I just can’t find enough words to express the tremendous gratitude & respect I have for her and her staff. My voice, my pain, my fall wasn’t enough for ssdi to approve my case.... but after I spoke to Patricia in person, she straight out told me “ I know I can win your case, hire me”, so I did. I can’t believe the judge approved my case from day “1” that I saw my doctor. My SSDI claim was denied 2 or 3 times and I truly wanted to give up. I decided to hire Ms. McCabe and she worked on my case and made me feel very comfortable and at ease. She always kept me informed on what steps were next, either through email or by phone. She is a very nice lady who makes you feel like she actually cares. After years of sadness and frustration, I was finally able to shed tears of joy, as after the hearing the Judge's decision came back and it was fully favorable. This blang blank blank told me I wasn't going to win my case and can barely even listen to my case. I got ran over and I'm disabled and can't walk and was denied social security. So you don't want to take my case fine. Be it I move on. So we were i find another lawyer. So I did come to find out this one was nothing. I won my case. He didn't want to take my case cuz he said I wasn't going to win in. said rude words. I don't know how you people like him. When he was rude right off the bat didn't give a crap showed it. What kind of lawyer does that? And it's over the phone and you can tell that he's being a d... I'm glad I did not get you because if I got you I probably would not have one because you don't fight. I bet you settle just like Jason laLiberty you settle, poor communication skills and poor poor worth ethic skills. You don't give a crap about the people you give a crap about the money. Lloyd took a my random call, with a different area code, without question. I didn’t have to leave a voicemail, he answered after a few short rings. The inquiry I had didn’t line up exactly with the field to which he practices. HOWEVER, he took 20 minutes out of his personal time (YES personal time, because he was in the grocery store, off the clock) to give me the knowledge that he was able in regard to my questions. He was thorough, detailed, and overall, extremely kind. Additionally, he referred me to an attorney who specializes in the type of law that could define the specifics of the questions.
I thanked Lloyd 100 times, it seemed. He reiterated that he truly enjoys helping people when he can.
This is a lawyer, who after one phone call, I can confidently say treats his clients with respect, and care. Lloyd is in the field he’s in because of his willingness to help people, which again, was extremely evident after our call. I’m extremely appreciative of the knowledge he shared with me, and the time he took, out of his own free time, to speak with me.

Hired Jason for a work comp case. I know my case was going to be rather involved so I sought out a lawyer through my Teamsters union. The Teamsters Lawyer out of Washington state recommended Jason.
After initial consult, I felt quite confident with Jason. However, at this point I felt compelled to write this review.
Over the months and months at this point of my surgery, having difficulties with the insurance company with TTD benefits, and not receiving medical devices needed for recovery that the insurance did not want to cover, I made several phone calls to Jason‘s office.
The first phone call I placed to him with questions about the insurance company/ work comp carrier went unanswered for more than three weeks.
When I contacted his office again, I was told that I needed to set up an appointment for him to call me back. This was accomplished with an appointment date, however, I did not get a call back.
I called his office again, and was put on hold for him to finally pick up the telephone. this was after my scheduled appointment time.
The Work Comp insurance finally came through approving the medical device with the help of DWD Madison Wisconsin work Comp division, (not Jason) that I needed after my surgery, but once again, I did that with the help of the Work Comp division in Madison Wisconsin not Jason. I also needed Jason to help me fill out a hearing request with the state of Wisconsin against the work comp insurance carrier because they were not paying me the correct TTD benefit amount. TTD benefits at this point in time are still stalled. The Work Comp carrier hasn’t done anything to adjust the weekly benefit amount.
I finally got the division DWD Madison Work Comp involved. Jason Oldenburg was not. I had to do this on my own. The state took a look at all of the monetary/medical equipment that I needed. And they have been the only ones that could give me any kind of help at this point seeing that Jason did not.
The state did all the TTD financial calculations, (which at this point the Work Comp carrier has not adjusted ) and stepped in about the medical device that I needed after my surgery six weeks after the surgery.
I also requested the paperwork for hearing with the lawyers from the DWD Work Comp division in Madison. I received the paperwork and it was quite perplexing, and I didn’t want to try and fill it out myself.
When I received the paperwork from the Work Comp division in Madison Wisconsin, I looked over the paperwork, called Jason‘s office, and talked to Ashley at the front desk, requesting a return phone call from Jason.
After 2 1/2 weeks it never happened, he never did call me back. That’s enough for me. If you can’t count on someone upfront before things get complex, how can you trust him when things start to get dicey/complex.
He apologized to me after the first unanswered phone call months ago, and said he would do better, keep me informed, “and to give him another chance” retaining him as a lawyer. I agreed to give him another chance and he did it again (no call back) I need help with my TTD benefits, he has been no help. I will not give or put my trust in a lawyer that cannot simply return a phone call. Anybody who Reads this review may think I am distraught, upset, or angry. I am not, just just very disappointed.
I wish Jason Oldenburg and his law firm well, he’s just not for me! I dissolved the client/lawyer relationship.

I was reluctant to try for disability, even with long standing multiple sclerosis. I knew I could no longer work full time, with my symptoms, but I questioned if I would win a disability case. I was referred to Jason, and he treated with respect from day one. He was very thorough in explaining the process, and answered all my questions with patience. He stayed with my case, even though I was denied a few times, but I finally won. Jason, thank you for all the time that you spent on my case. Seemed very nice at first, then gave him $3,500 upfront for custody. Then after he was paid, he was very short, and stern with his words and demeanor. We went to one hearing for 2 hours in Tioga County and absolutely nothing changed from the way it was. I reached out to David Ross several times to get back into court because I moved and few other things changed along with a support issue. David Ross wanted $2700 to make it another hearing. And he also said in email he had $800 left of the $3500 that was given and claims he did $2700 of work when we only went to one hearing for two hours. Once he found out I wasn’t giving him any more money, then I did, he ignored my emails. I would absolutely not recommend this lawyer to anyone, he seems like he just hungry for money and unfair. Quick to get the money in his hand and talk a good game but then becomes a different person once he’s paid.

This fellow took my case with the full knowledge that I had lived in Canada when I was filing my SSDI claim in 2018. I was fully qualified and eventually was awarded my SSDI but not before he decided to withdraw literally days before my hearing telling me I was ineligible for SSDI. All of this despite my own efforts in securing the hearing and assurances from the SSA that a hearing wouldn't have been granted if I were ineligible based on qualifications surrounding residency or work time requirements from the SSA's OEIO.
Essentially the guy waited until late in the 4th quarter and then decided to quit because he lacked the knowledge to handle the case. Then he gave me inaccurate, literally completely incorrect wrong information stating empirically I was ineligible when I pleaded with him to just show up for the hearing since it was too late to get new representation. He essentially told me that would be a waste of his and my time to do so. A decent person who had lead me on and come to this conclusion even inaccurately would have bit the bullet and invested the few hours and lost, but not David, he clearly was too important, but as it turned out this floundering dime store lawyer was seeming so inept that my own research was better and I indeed was not only qualified but won my case with the help of another attorney who managed to get my hearing postponed and won the case.
All in all, the being wrong, given the complexities of my situation would be understandable. The problem is he knew them from day one and sat on my case for months and only looked at it a few days before my hearing and then told me to go pound salt. Which is unforgivable. A told bush league move. If I could have I'd have sued him, but we all know how that works with fellow lawyers. Just remember good old Dave couldn't waste an hour or two, total bum if you ask me.

I had filed for SSDI benefits back in 2017. I hadn’t seen any developments in my case for such a long period of time, so I decided to hire Attorney Schwab in Oct. 2018. First thing I noticed was he took the time to discuss my case as if I was her only client, & that he took all the time in the world to go over my case, as if I was a friend or family member. I have nothing but absolute praise and adoration for this company, Steve and Debby particularly. I was in a car accident in 2020 that left me with permanent injuries and a totaled car and Steve and Debby were my team from day one. From forgetting to file forms and paperwork and mail from the courts threatening my sister because of this paperwork not being filed to not responding to either my sister or I for months! I came to Mr Weber who after speaking to several rude attorneys answered his phone at 6pm he was out the door but took his time to talk to me about the bankruptcy I was looking for. He took his time and answered all my questions without trying to rush me off the phone. Pleased I called back the next day and made the first appointment. My husband and I hired him. His office and staff especially Kim returned all my calls and questions prompty. Mr Weber even called me back on a Saturday with a question I thought about! All I can say is his services were superb. I came to Joseph Weber with a judgment against me that I couldn’t pay. I didn’t know what to do. I knew Joe specialized in bankruptcy but that was not what I preferred. Joe agreed with me and I hired him to negotiate and settle my case with the collectors. Although this was not listed as one of Joe’s “specialties” he ended up saving me over 40 thousand dollars! I was able to pay the judgment and go on with my life. Honestly, Joe was one of the most sincere people I have ever worked with. Felt like he really cared during the whole process. Most basic lawyer. But if you want a lawyer to fight, he is not the one.
The communication was lacking. I was told at one point "you should think about self representation". This because I asked him to have stuff included within the final divorce. But he wanted it his way or else find someone else. "I work for you" doesnt really apply here.
Then, I tried to follow up AFTER the case was closed so I would not need another lawyer, completely ignored be on 3 separate requests. So he was done with me without telling me.
Forwarded me emails from the other party with not a single word of context or what Im supposed to do. "Review and get back to me". Yes, I probably could have self represented. And should have. Win some, lose some.

Thank goodness I finally found an attorney that represented me with integrity and helped me through this long nightmare of a divorce. Robert was very responsive from the beginning, answered every communication, kept my case on track, and gave me counsel that finally gave me some relief. Robert Stavins is very competent and effective attorney in family law. I must admit to be a lawyer-phobic so when my exwife filed a law suit to get me pay half of my sons University of Michigan tuition when he could have studied Loyola University Chicago or Marquette University for free thanks to my employee benefits, I first attempted to represent myself. When a judge strongly suggested I needed a lawyer, and some awful forms were due in Waukegan court soon, I quickly choose Robert based on two facts: first, he worked pro bono from time to time (not that I would need that but it shows his kind heart so I felt he would understand that I cannot afford excessive fees), and, second, he did not remind me during our first meeting a vulture (unlike most other attorneys I observed working in the courtroom). I was so lucky with my selection! The complicated case morphed into child support case for another child and took a year and many petitions and counter-petitions to complete. Robert was always there - calm, knowledgeable, explaining my options clearly. We did not win it all but my new family and I would be probably financially ruined without his assistance.
