Unfortunately, I made things even harder on myself by choosing the wrong attorney at the start. I assumed the process would be "straightforward," given that my ex-spouse and I both wanted to approach it fairly and reasonably after so many years of marriage. The last thing we wanted was to add more harm to an already difficult situation. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend The Baxter Law Firm. During my initial telephone conversation, I found Ms. Thompson extremely abrupt with constant interruption. I did not have the documents she needed readily at hand. The purpose of my call was to explain the situation and ask if her firm could handle such a case. I was asked to send several documents for her review. However, after careful consideration, I wrote Ms. Thompson and explained that I would not be moving forward with her and how I felt about our initial call. As expected, Ms. Thompson took it personally and felt the need to lash out - her response: Subject: RE: Consultation Thank you for your email which I find insulting and rude. Professional courtesy was extended to you which was clearly not appreciated nor reciprocated. Our conversation was not productive as you were not prepared to speak with me nor answer my simple questions in order to guide you in the right direction. I listened and heard what you had to say. I find this email is unnecessary and interpreted by me as lacking the professional courtesy I extended to you yesterday. I wish you all the luck in securing counsel. Kindly, Christina C. I do wish her well in her business endeavors, but I will be hard pressed to send any referrals her way.

This was an abysmal and harrowing experience for me. As a mother of three enduring the profoundly traumatic dissolution of an 18-year marriage to a man who significantly out-earned me, I felt from the very outset that Billy was aligned with my ex-husband. Every consultation, for which I paid, was hurried and dismissive. There was a glaring lack of intention to advocate for me. I was treated as yet another discarded wife whose husband abandoned his children to pursue a younger woman and a new life. Despite extracting thousands of dollars from me, they ultimately terminated their representation after I expressed a preference to continue my case with Billy’s wife. The supposed “package deal” of two attorneys for the price of one never materialized—I neither met, spoke with, nor saw her. Billy exhibited blatant misogyny, entirely devoid of empathy for my children and me. Thankfully, a group of female attorneys stepped in at the last minute, graciously guiding me through the remainder of my case with the compassion and kindness that had been sorely lacking.

I called for an inquiry no one ever called me back or never no one ever pursued I guess they do not.

Gives bad advice
