The Peck Firm represented my spouse in a recently completed 15 month divorce case. At the beginning, a legal advisor very familiar with the Charleston area divorce law scene said the following to me: "In this business there are problem-solvers and problem-makers. The Peck Firm is known as a problem maker." And, "They like to use the court." How precise. From the filing of Temporary Consent Orders, Request for Hearings and Subpoena's their aggressive style prevented any chance of developing good will between my spouse and I that would have enabled us to agree on minor issues and save some money. Instead, the $300+ per hour meter kept running from start to finish. Additionally, along the way they made too many legal and procedural errors requiring more back and forth between the parties and additional money spent. As the defendant, I had little to no control over this process, forced to keep spending money until we finally reached the finish line. I'm purposely not mentioning The Peck Firm attorney that represented my spouse as I wish this person no career harm, and truly believe this is the culture of this firm, it’s just the way they operate. My advice to anyone reading this is to look past the advertising and find the lawyer best for you. There are many good ones - I found one - either sole practitioners or part of larger firms that don't spend money to make sure they come up at the top of every internet search. Finding one of these will give you the best chance to reach consensus, not over-spend and possibly have a cordial relationship with your spouse when it’s all over.

I had a very disappointing experience with Mr. Peck. He was 15 minutes late to my hearing and not prepared, I had to email/call several times before receiving a response, and very overpriced for the unprofessional representation that I received. I would not recommend The Peck Law Firm, especially for contested custody cases.

They charged me $18,000 in two months. Nothing was getting done so I hired another attorney to find out that the Peck law firm never filed a claim. Needless to say the attorney I have now I haven’t even paid him half the price that Peck charged me and I’ve already been to court.. I hope this review helps so you don’t end up in the same position I was in. All he cares about is $$$$$$$$

My attorney, Kristina Jarvis, is a real go-getter. I’m very pleased with her leadership in providing me expert advice in how to navigate an extremely stressful time in my life. Part of that leadership included telling me some things that at the time, I did not want to hear, that in the end, turned out to be prudent and for my best. I would highly recommend her and The Peck Law firm.

Mr. Ken Peck was my divorce lawyer for a year and he was an enormous failure. He did not solve my case, he wasted my time, was very expensive, and I had to find another lawyer. He was extremely hard to reach, it normally took 2-4 weeks of bothering his paralegal before I could schedule a call with him. He’d spend half the call (at $400 an hour) talking about military history or whatever was on his mind. When the opposing party came up with a bogus claim about a conflict of interest, Mr. Peck immediately dropped my case and did not defend me. Absolute waste of my time and money. I found a new lawyer who actually finished the job and defended me.

Kathleen ferri was a great lawyer for my first divorce recently! Always gave great legal advice as well as personal advice when it came to handling my divorce and custody of my 3 kids. Always responded to any questions in a timely manor amd would absolutely recommend her to anyone!

I only had two conversations so you can take my review with a grain of salt. The front desk seems professional. My actual interactions with a lawyer however left me uneasy. Of course in the court room you want someone who is aggressive and going to fight for you but I found there was a lack of client education on next steps) or empathy. Money was a non-issue, I just needed help and I felt like they were already writing off my case without really hearing me. I understood already that I wasn’t in a good position. That’s why people hire attorneys and pay them the big bucks. Maybe it’s a tactic they try to make people feel like they desperately need their help but to me it just seemed like they felt ill equipped to handle my case. I felt like I was being chastised. Maybe it’s just the simple fact that I work in healthcare so people skills are very important to me but I did not feel like I could 100% trust this law firm to be in my corner. I expected a lot more considering there are like 85 4 1/2 star reviews on Google. Hopefully whatever lawyer it was I spoke to you was just having a bad day because again my experience just left me uneasy.

I am working with Kathleen Ferri and her paralegal, Erika Jones. They have been amazing through every step in my divorce proceedings. They communicate clearly and have given me the most honest advice. Their response time is fast...I mean, really fast. I do not have to wait days to hear back from them. They usually respond within an hour or at most a few hours (same day definitely). I could not ask for a more calm and relaxed atmosphere when speaking with them. I trust them 100% and know they have my interests in the forefront of their mind. I am very happy I chose Peck Law Firm and am very pleased Kathleen Ferri as my attorney.
