Ruth Cate and her team are amazing. We used them on 2 separate occasions. Once for child custody and another for adoption. Both times they were as quick and efficient as the system allows. They were informative and forthright throughout the process. I continue to recommend them to anyone needing legal assistance.

I just finished up my second and hopefully, last case with Mr. Brough. Both times I was guilty and both times Mr. Brough got my charges reduced. The first case was reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor, the second case had two charges. More on the first case later.
The second case involved a Dui and Open container. I refused the test and incurred an extra Six month license suspension effective immediately for that, which would have meant my license would have been suspended for one year in total, if convicted. I was, but read on.
Thank God for Mr Brough, he informed me that we could ask for an Implied Consent Hearing, sometimes called an Administrative hearing, to get my license back immediately, with zero restrictions. Who knew! I sure didn't.
Mr. Brough got the open container charge dropped and the DUI reduced to a DUAC. While Duac incurs the same penalty, it doesn't show up on a background check, which is used by many employers and rental agency's to name a few. Again, I was guilty, but completely satisfied by the outcome.
The first case is what I really want to talk about. It was a serious charge. I hired him when he was a whippersnapper, working for a firm, on the recommendation of my bail bondsman of all people. He said he was a young lawyer, but was very good, and was going places.
Best advice I ever got, best decision I ever made. This was the first serious trouble I was ever in, I hired him late, and the case was a very emotional one. I pestered him almost every day, bent out of shape, worried and just a mess.
He took ever call, listened, reassured me and basically helped me to keep it together. For that I'm eternally grateful.
I can't emphasize enough, how important that is, if you're going through something serious.
Mr. Brough is not going to lie to you, he is not going to give you unrealistic expectations. He is going to be Professional, he is going to work hard and he is going to make you feel like you are BOTH going through the same ordeal. That your plight is his plight. At the end of the day, that's all you can ask for.
Earlier I talk about pestering Mr. Brough daily about that first case. With this second (hopefully last) case I pretty much left it all to him. I already knew him from the first case, and knew he was working as hard as he could, to resolve this case, with the best possible outcome for me.
Again, don't let the fact that I was found guilty deter you, I was guilty both times, with overwhelming evidence and in both cases, he resolved them with lessor charges, to my complete satisfaction.
It would be remiss of me, if I didn't mention his staff, who are always cheerful, respectful, understanding and helpful. A top notch, professional office by all, if there ever was one. If you want the best outcome that can be realistically obtained, look no farther than Christopher Brough.

I was extremely pleased with Ruth and her staff when she represented me during my divorce. She is knowledgeable, an excellent listener, very sympathetic, and she conducted herself in the courtroom with grace and poise, unlike the belligerent opposing attorney. Even today, several years later, I can email or call her with a question about my circumstances and her reply is always prompt. A court bailiff reaffirmed my opinion when he stopped me after a hearing to tell me I had an excellent attorney.

I used The Ruth Cate Law Firm when I went through a very traumatic time of divorce when my ex-wife decided to have an affair with another man and progressively escalated downward in drug use even all along while our children where 5 and 6 years old. Ruth Cate seen that a system that was normally set up for the protection of mothers in divorced situations, was actually going to hurt me and my children whom I was more than glad to raise by myself if necessary. Ruth Cate is at the helm and controls all that goes on with compassion and care that is second to none. She actually practices the law the way it is supposed to be done. She and her team dots every i and crosses every t. The results I got has made The Ruth Cate Law Firm a lifelong friend that I will always seek my legal advice through even if it is to be directed to another firm for services not specialized in. Thank you Ruth for you contribution to the human race and the care that you administer it with.

Never would we had expected such poor service and results from a lawyer who was suppose to represent our case. We had high expectations due to her reputation but we were deceived. This was the worse experience. There was never any counseling or coaching. We had to initiate any agreement and make suggestions. Neither Ruth or Rachel were proactive, they just wanted to finish and take our money. They were rude, condescending and at times very unprofessional. Please look elsewhere if you want someone to fight for you and care about your children. This firm does not. They are quick to rush to judgement and were not interested in the true underlying cause of our case. We made a dreadful mistake in hiring this firm and the cost was catastrophic for the children involved.

I was extremely pleased with Chris's performance in every aspect of my case and could not have asked for better results than he achieved. I wish there was an award for "Attorney of the Year" and I would nominate him for such an award because he did such an excellent job on my behalf.

Attorney Brough and his office staff were superb from my very first meeting (a free interview) on through to the completion of the divorce case. As I wrote them in a note, they made a very difficult event the most acceptable experience possible. Concerning Mr. Brough's counsel, he took initiatives - always with my knowledge - that clearly reduced the need for debate between the opposing parties. Most importantly, his solid insights and excellent follow-up achieved a resolution that was truly favorable for my long-term welfare while still allowing a beneficial balance for the other side. Along the way, there were a couple of times when communication was slow but I always found Mr. Brough and his staff to be accessible and gracious. In fact, when I was out of the country for one court hearing, I had no hesitation in relying on Attorney Brough to cover for my part before the judge. I am very grateful that Christopher Brough represented me in this case and I have already recommended his services to others.
