One of the best lawyers in town.

short answer. go somewhere else. 7 months after my divorce I had to call up Steven Girskys office for a copy of my divorce decree. Was told by the receptionist that I would get it in an Email 30 min from the time I called. It has been 2 weeks since I called and time is up. I could spill my guts about how he didn't show up for Mediation. Could even state how the lawyer that went in his place told me to give up custody because as a guy I wouldn't win in the court system there. If you want someone to take your money and sign papers. This office is for you. If you want a lawyer that will actually fight for you and keep you informed and up to date on whats going on? Look somewhere else.

I met Steve almost 5 years ago. He was highly recommended and I was in need of a lawyer. During those years he never pushed anything on me and during periods of times I tried to repair my marriage he never passed judgement. There where numerous times my emotions got the best of me and my frustrations where pointed in his direction. Divorce is not easy and when kids are involved it's confusing. There where times I questioned him and if he was on my side. I learned over the years his calmness and patience is a virtue he has. There is no other attorney I would want to walk in a court room than Mr Girskey. He has been constant for me and my children. We all picked our paths we are asking his team to make the path straight again. Mike Harrington

One of the nicest lawyers I've had to deal with. He shows true consern and is very clear on how he talks. If your appt goes over it's ok he wants to make sure you understand everything you talked about. His office is beautiful, plenty of parking and close to downtown. Try him out if you need one.

I would like to be as transparent as possible in this, as my case was rather abnormal. Steven and Rebecca handled my divorce several years ago, so when a new found custody battle came up, I found it fitting to go there, since they created the original agreement. I have to say, first and foremost, that Rebecca's communication is exemplary! She responded promptly at every whim I had, and normally in a very cordial manner. She was honest and forthcoming, and all though not the best at comforting, she made sure that I understood both sides of everything. I would not trade her for anyone to be my primary POC for my case. Secondly, when my first court date came, I found out that Steven himself wouldn't be present, even though he was the original attorney paid for (things happen, I get it). John stepped in for court and showed up 4 minutes late, thankfully the judge was running behind, but we had little time to go over last minute details. I felt that John's goal was to force me to settle the case in favor of the opposition. He often spoke with the opposing attorney in the presence of my ex but not me, so I was not privy to the attorney discussions but the other party was, and was able to give input. This was infuriating. From the most honest of my heart, he seemed to have been walked all over and bullied by the other, very intimidating I will admit, attorney. This caused me to be very unhappy with the outcome because what I had told him would happen if I agreed to something, indeed happened when he assured me it would not. After the first court appearance, when I let them know of my displeasure, my needs were much better met and I couldn't be more happy with the course of time and their efforts after that. If not for the day of court itself, I would absolutely rate them as 5 stars.

He took my money and abandoned me in court! His paralegal, Rebecca, is worse then he is. She treated me like I was a child and offered nothing positive to my case. The result was, I lost on every single point of contention!
