Jim Potter represented me in my divorce and custody case. He’s one of the most experienced lawyers in this town, if not the most. He is well respected and now I know why. He and his paralegal, Lauren made sure that our outcome was the best for our family. They truly care at Potter law firm and that is what makes them the best!

In a very challenging & stressful situation with my divorce, not knowing who to choose he emailed me at night & called me promptly the next morning. From day one and through the entire process he went to bat for me, knew the law well and always responded promptly and always made me feel at ease. I highly recommend him as an attorney and am truly grateful for his support, kindness & direct approach.

DO NOT HIRE!!!!!!!
Giving him one star because of his paralegal Lauren!! She’s the best
Mr. Potter continued to ask the same questions over and over again. When it came to mediation my husband did not want to mediate because he knew him and his ex-wife were not going to agree based on mediations in the past. He also knows he would have had to pay for that mediation. The judge disagreed and said it would be in the best interest of child to mediate (which is a way of getting revenue). The opposing attorney, Travis Meeks, refused to set a date for mediation. My husband continued to call/text Mr. Potter about trying to mediate because the case could not continue without that. Finally, after almost a month my husband went in and asked what he could do to get the date for mediation. Mr. Potters assistant, Kristina, stated that they would file a motion to compel. Why did my husband have to go there to do that?
In addition, Mr. Potter finally agreed to file the motion rule 35 and a motion to continue therapy. However, when he did that, he filed the motions but refused to docket them. Instead, he told Travis about the motions and Travis began trying to work out a settlement. The settlement did not even meet the basic requirement for what my husband wanted. My husband and I both called Mr. Potter several times about docketing these motions and he said “well I’m not going to docket then because Travis really thinks we can come to a settlement”. My husband and I agreed it was time to fire Mr. potter because that was strike three for us.
He also refused to hold Travis Meeks client in contempt after have clear evidence. He said “a judge won’t hear that until the end”. However, the judge did hear it, and the mother is now being held in contempt and was ordered to give us the ten days back that we missed.
His assistant is extremely rude. She treats you like it’s your fault you’re in the position you’re in.

Mr. Potter was amazing! He walked me through every step, answered every question I could think to ask and I truly felt his support. He listened to me and he fought for me and my kids! I’d recommend him to anyone.
