Waited 3 weeks for my appointment and come time for my appointment I never got a call. I called 3 times throughout the whole day and was reassured I’d get a call back and they were just “busy”.. never received a phone call back and was completely ghosted

We chose this firm because it was highly recommended and is on the pricier side of family law attorney’s in the area so we assumed they were worth the cost. Our assumption could not have been any more wrong.. we hired Spivey king and Spivey 3 months ago, paid our retainer fee in full, & Ashley Odum was put on our case. We were told by the whole firm “When you hire one of us, you hire all of us” therefore we thought we were in good hands. 3 months passed and we never received an update. We reached out on several occasions to get the response from the secretary “I’ll send her a message” yet never heard from Ashley or any of the others. We provided everything for them to handle the case yet 3 months had passed & nothing had happened. Frustrated, we called yet again to be informed that our attorney “left the practice”. Over a week had passed from the time she quit until I called requesting to speak to her. Nobody had taken the time to inform us. We were then told on numerous occasions “we’ll make it right! Don’t you worry!” only for days to pass & nothing be done yet again. We called again to request a refund in order to hire a different, more professional & hard working lawyer only to have to fight to get our money back. I made a trip to their office to collect my refund after providing a generous window of time to have it ready only to be informed that it was not ready. When I requested to speak with the only attorney in the office at the time, Matt King, regarding the situation he would not even allow me time out of his day to express my frustrations nor to offer my husband & I an apology on behalf of the firm. Save your money, tears, and time & go elsewhere. It was made very clear that Spivey king & Spivey does not care about their clients.

Incredible human beings! Ashley Odom immediately understood the situation and went into action with questions, concerns, and how she planned to help. Matt King also stepped into saying hi and saying he would answer any questions she had to help us. We left after a 2 hour meeting feeling like we had more answers than we had in 10 months with another Tri-Cities attorney and several thousand dollars spent. Their building is also located with a parking lot that doesn't require parallel parking which is huge for those of us who can't really do that or prefer not to. I strongly encourage you to reach out to these people for help! You will be relieved and know instantly your concerns are valid and you have the perfect team on your side and case.

Set up for a telephone consultation, never heard back from Mr. Spivey! Poor business management!!

They were nice just wasn't the right lawyer I needed but they did give me some advice! They also told me a few options I had and led me to the direction I needed and type of lawyer for my situation. Nice people!
