When I found the Barnett Firm, I had an Order of Protection against my wife and needed help defending myself against an Annulment. Obviously, I needed a divorce and an attorney that could sort through the mess and keep me safe. The odds were stacked against me since this was a gay marriage of which I was a housewife. no precedent had been set, I needed to make payments, my ex made at least six times my income with unlimited resources and I didn’t even live in the area and would need to do everything I could remotely. When I explained everything to Ben Barnett, instead of turning me away like all the others he agreed to take my case. Finally, I had found my champion. Ben was a powerhouse and immediately managed to untangle the web of motions with little effort. When able, (after the Supreme Court ruled on same sex marriage) Ben filed my counter claim for divorce in enough time to extend my Order of Protection through the divorce proceedings. Ben and his staff went out of their way to keep me safe in every way possible. Ben’s staff even escorted me to the restroom any time my ex was in the same building. In the end, Ben secured a settlement in my favor that included temporary alimony awarded over a year and a half after our final separation and an order awarding me most of my precious possessions that I had grown to believe had been destroyed. Somehow, he even got her to return precious keepsakes from my child that were not on the order. If you want to stay out of court, Ben can get you a settlement from even the most unreasonable opponent. If court is necessary, as it was in my case for a contempt hearing, Ben is the champion that will stick by your side until the end. Prior to the last hearing my ex had fired her team of lawyers since their cost had exceeded their value and she was allowed to cross examine me. Ben kept her in check and objected successfully over and over and over, making me feel protected instead of frightened. During the entire hearing, Ben was effective, efficient and pushed back hard whenever pushed upon. Ben won more than I was seeking and even made the ex pay his attorney fees. From annulment to post-divorce, Casandra kept me calm when I became emotional and with Ben gave me words of encouragement that helped me to pursue a new career, a degree and get my life back in order. Ben Barnett and his staff helped me to get a divorce and got me the justice that I wanted. Ben also helped me to get (at no extra cost) the closure and peace that I was missing and could not get on my own, which I find to be priceless. When my son told me that he had a lawyer for his child custody case I told him he needed to fire him and call Ben Barnett. On my birthday, my son called and told me he had hired the Barnett Firm for his case. I told him that was the best birthday present he could have ever given me. I would not trust my family’s future with anyone else since I know that the Barnett Firm will fight for my son and my grandbaby and that everything will be okay. I want to start by saying I have nothing but the upmost respect for Mr. Barnett. He is such a wonderful attorney and was there for me in my most desperate time of need. Ben more than exceeded my expectations as an attorney! I used Mr. Barnett 3 years ago in a very difficult custody case with my children. In the end he was able to win my case as I ended up with more than I expected and was VERY pleased. Recently I was faced with the same situation as custody modification papers were served to me. As I spoke to the petitioners attorney and told them I was hiring Mr. Barnett as my attorney in less than 10 minutes they were ready to settle and caved as they did not want to go up against Ben and his legal team.
