I was first notified of my issues with the TX BON when I applied for my advance practice license. My heart literally stopped and I felt an overwhelming sense of dread. Minor issues with my documentation turned into major ones! My issue had snowballed so much by the time I found out that I thought my career was over due to a simple misunderstanding. I contacted several lawyers but Ms Mackay instantly won my trust with her knowledge of the board policies and the anticipatory guidance she provided. She was able to keep my small issue small. After some time and minor remediation, I was able to receive my advanced license. I'm glad I didn't give up and I'm grateful to God that I found Ms Mackay.

After searching for a lawyer to assist me with my case (and being turned down by many) Taralynn was eager to help me and explain many things that I had NO clue about over the phone. Might I mention, one lawyer had wanted to collect a three-hundred dollar fee to speak with me over the phone before even considering my case. After our pretty long phone conversation I was sold, this would be my lawyer. She helped me with important documentation I would need to gather to support my claim and managed everything promptly and professionally. She was always available to answer any questions I had along the way and her legal assistant Ashley was AMAZING as well. I definitely recommend the "mock" session with her the day before the case, I would have been LOST without this!! The day of the meeting with Board is very nerve wrecking but she is right next to you sort of prompting things you might have left out or need to address. Hire a lawyer!! Stop wondering if you should, and hire Ms. Mackay to represent you in front of the Texas Board of Nursing. If what you have been accused of seems small, you still need a lawyer. Ms. Mackay and Ms. Grimes are so efficient and effective. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be dealing with a complaint to the Board of Nursing. I had no clue what to do after I received my letter stating I was going to be investigated. We have all worked so hard to become nurses! This is the profession I chose and love. I was initially so hurt by the accusations that I just wanted to call the board and deal with it quickly but after some research decided to hire Ms. Mackay. Ms. Mackay was successful and had my case completely closed in six months. The cost was reasonable and completely worth it. Whatever it is you are facing, call Ms. Mackay today. She is the one you want to trust with your career. You know nursing, she knows nursing. You know this is a big deal, she knows the laws and regulations to help you. Let her handle this fight.

In my time of need, in 2012, the same year my mom passed away, she took up my cause. She zealously protected my sole source of livelihood. It wasn't until 2014, two years later, that my state board of nursing finally cleared me of all trumped up cases my former employer tied me up with. I'm proud to state today, that I've completed my family NP degree from one of the best institutions of higher education in December 2018. Ms. Mackay is an exceptional attorney. She is very communicative throughout the whole process. Her assistant Ashley is also always available for any questions you may have. If you get a letter from the board, I highly refer Ms. Taralynn Mackay. She will get the job done!

Updated review**** I thought there was an issue with communication which has been fully resolved after contacting Mr. Vinson. I realized that my expectations for communication was not a failure on the part of Mr. Brad Vinson as he was following the established protocols. I made a mistake as I failed to fully review the contract and didn’t understand the communication timeframe. Therefore, I rushed to a negative judgment against Mr. Vinson and gave him a not so favorable review based solely on my perception of the issue. This was a very unfair review towards Mr. Vinson who I now know has been a very successful attorney helping clients with difficult cases for many years in Austin. I strongly encourage you to interview your attorney prior to retention & would highly recommend that you consider Mr. Brad Vinson as I believe he’s fair & will consider the needs of his clients first and foremost. Mr. Vinson returned my calls within their 24 hour timeframe & was always understanding, courteous, professional & very informative.

I caught a case for unlawful carry of a firearm. I just knew I would be looking at jail time or probation due to the severity of the case. Yes, it was a accident of the place that I carried it into, but I was not trying to be optimistic about the situation. Let’s just say I was prepared for the worst. Mr Kevin was easy to reach, easy to communicate with, and persistent when it came to reaching out to the DA regarding my defense. When i got that phone call and email saying the charges were dismissed, i literally have only felt that joy in my life twice; when i married my wife and when my son was born! If i (or ANY family member i know) ever get into any mishap again (God forbid), Kevin Bennett is the Lawyer I want fighting for me tooth and nail!
