I called Devin to get help with reviewing separation documents from my previous employer. Devin was quick to respond to me, and was extremely courteous even though I could tell he was in the middle of something. He called me back, spoke with me at leisure and agreed to review my documents. After he had completed reviewing my documents, he called me back and walked me through his findings. I had some specific concerns on some language in the contract and he gave me confidence that the language was standard and that the contract was fair. He also pointed out some other clauses that he thought might be problematic for me. I appreciated that very much.

I hired Black Law Firm last month to deal with an employee who was threatening a lawsuit for discrimination on some bogus claims. He understood the value of my business's name and reputation and worked with us to take care of the employee. I didn't have to pay some secretive settlement or anything fishy at all. He just explained to the employee and his lawyer (SUPER calmly and professionally) that he didn't have a case and BOOM the other lawyer agreed and dropped the whole thing.

Devin is great! He made our employee contracts years ago for our IT firm and it's been pretty smooth sailing for years with our employees because of it. We also have him on retainer so we can call whenever we have a even a small question. He is very responsive and usually picks up or texts right away with when he's available. We recently caught an employee trying to leave the company and take some of our clients with them. Devin shut them down hard and fast! I've had several business lawyers in the past and they've all sucked. Every lawyer is hard to get a hold of, hard to talk to, hard to get information out of. Devin fixed my issues caused by the last lawyer and wrote some great contracts to protect my business so this doesn't happen again. I can't tell you how grateful I am that we hired Devin. We were being sued by a subcontractor for lack of payment on a job I had to hire another company to come finish. They wanted more than $100k. Scared, I called Devin who has helped me in the past. We not only won but he got the judge to make them pay for our attorney fees and pay us for the delays. Instead of being out $100k we got them to pay for the other contractor's work too. Crazy good. He's my lawyer for life.

I called Devin three months ago about a case. He told me that he wouldn't take it because it would cost me too much. After three month's of legal fees and court costs ($22,000!) I won but only $3,000. The next lawyer just took my money with a smile. Devin didn't take my case and I should have listened to him.

I was getting sued for not paying my employees overtime. I thought I was allowed to pay them salary and I was wrong. This angry ex-employee showed up and started demanding all sorts of crazy stuff and was going to turn us into the board and the FDA and who knows who else. I called Devin and he took care of it from there. He talked me through the entire process and really helped give me some perspective what was happening and that it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought. Devin even talked to my wife and son, who help with the business, and made them comfortable with what was going on. This could have been really stressful but he really helped us make the best of it. Devin just did a bunch of stuff for us on a flat rate. My dad had nothing put together so Devin our wills, a new trust, power of attorneys, and a bunch of other stuff. Did great work. He came to our house to talk cause dad couldn't leave the house. Really nice guy. I loved that I knew how much it costed before we started. That was really nice.
