As the time came that my husband and I had to think about our respective wills, my husband did a lot of research on trying to determine the best option for us. Mr. Smaistrla was our number 1 choice, and it didn't disappoint. It was extremely easy to get in contact with, personable, very timely, and to the point responses, and the first meeting set the tone of our work together. The explanation of all the little details - including those he, as a lawyer, will not be participating in outlining (therefore technically not getting compensating for) was very thorough, and useful. I am sure we were far from the most complicated cases he handled in his long career, but still, it wasn't cut and dry either. I needed to have my Dad’s Will probate in a quick manner because of some personal family issues. I look around e-mailing and calling many probate lawyers. When I talked to Mr. Charles over the phone and told him of my situation – he explained everything in detail on what would need to be done and the court process. Most lawyers I talked to wanted to meet in person first before discussing any issues. Mr. Charles was able to get my Dad’s Will probate within a week after meeting with him in person. Mr. Charles guided me through the whole process and always kept me informed, with detailed information on what was going on. When we arrived at court for the probate – I notice that he was well respected among his peers and even the Judge (Honorable Guy Herman). Judge Guy Herman gave accolades to Mr. Charles, when him and I were in front of the Judge. All in all, I thought this was going to be a painful process. Mr. Charles made the process quick and painless – I could not have asked for a smoother process.

Timothy Griswold handled my divorce. It was difficult and sensitive. He had such a handle on the big picture, weaving in and out of possibilities and outcomes!! I was astounded at his memory and ability to track what was going on at every turn. This was without prompting. What a gift!! Of course it was emotional for me. He tapped right into that and could see the way forward. While I was edgy, and at the time distraught , he was fluid, open to different possibilities, and at the same time strategic, and judicious. Charles helped me immensely with the passing of both of my parents, which were unfortunately only a few months apart. My mother had passed away in another state, we could only find a photocopy of the will, and her primary asset was a note on a seller-financed local property. Charles got me through the probate process without a lot of paperwork, making phone calls, running around, etc. (In short, the complete opposite of my divorce, but that's a tale for another day.) My father's passing was fairly simple and straight-forward for the most part, but there was a hassle with a credit union in another state involving a CD which was payable on death to my sister's minor son.
