I never anticipated being in a situation like the one at my last place of employment. The owner had stopped paying me and started treating me in a retaliatory manner. After 2 months of trying to resolve things on my own, I sought legal counsel. Harjeen was assigned to me after my initial consultation with one of her senior partners. She was compassionate, responsive to emails and calls, and patient. The job separation was contentious and drawn-out, but she always assured me that she would see it through the end. Harjeen systematically disproved all of the intimidation tactics, got me out of unreasonable termination and non-compete portions of my contract, and helped recover almost 90% of my unpaid wages. I was curious regarding an issue with an employer and their actions. At intake I went into explicit details and was instructed to speak further with an attorney. In a nutshell the attorney said,"Texas is VERY Pro-Employer. You'd have to have literally a criminal or flagrant claim in order for it to even be considered" Now, for me who is not a "Legal eagle" I find it troubling that this information could have been conveyed at my intake! Even if the party asking questions is not an attorney it would be of great decision consideration of moving forward if that non legal information had been provided!. That answer cost me roughly $200 dollars for a 2 minute call. And attorneys wonder why their ridiculed!!
