I highly recommend Bruce Alford at The Alford Law Firm located in Dallas! I have 2 words to describe Bruce Alford: Legal Lifesaver! My boyfriend who was behind on paying his bills due to situations beyond his control was being sued by a credit card company and their collection lawyers were constantly mailing him legal paperwork and wanted to take him to court. My boyfriend had no lawyer so his plan was to just to just show up to the court hearing and have the collection attorneys put a judgement on him because he thought he didn't have any other choice. I decided to step in at the very last minute which was about 2 weeks from his court date. I wanted to find an attorney that specializes in debt collection defense and I called around to several attorneys who specializes in that and was getting discouraged because some don't call you back and some just say they're too busy and that our case was too last minute. Bruce was the only one who not only called me back right away but decided to help us out by taking on my boyfriend's case! Bruce immediately reached out to the collection attorney and said to send all legal paperwork to his office and to let them know he would be representing my boyfriend's case! Bruce went to work for us right away! Bruce submitted a motion of continuance to the judge to reset the trial date and thankfully the judge granted his motion! Hallelujah!!! Which gave us more time to prepare and for Bruce to work on negotiations with the collection attorney. I'm happy to report the case has since been resolved! Bruce negotiated terms with the collections attorney and the case was settled after we agreed to the terms. I didn't know anything about debt collection defense and you really do need hire a lawyer to represent you when dealing with collection attorneys. I'm so thankful we found Bruce because he has helped us out so much! He is always available when we have a question about something so he's just really good at being there for his clients! He's honest and dependable! Bruce has been doing this for over 30 years so thank the heavens we found a lawyer who specializes in my boyfriends case! Thank you Bruce for taking great care of us and for being our super hero lawyer! I highly recommend Bruce Alford for all of your legal needs in debt collections!

I have worked known and worked with the attorneys at Calabrese Huff for several years. This group is pro-family and works hard to provide the best solutions for everyone in difficult family circumstances, such as divorce, child custody, and parental alienation. As a last-ditch marriage counselor, I appreciate family law attorneys whose goal is to limit collateral damage and help people through difficult family transitions.

By the time my husband and I reached Carla and Calabrese Huff on our hopeful path to parenthood, we had already been through infertility treatments, including IUI and IVF, and a surrogate, all of which were unsuccessful. We began to open our hearts to the idea of adoption, and a new chapter started.
Friends had used Calabrese Huff as their adoption attorney and spoke highly of Carla and her team. We had so many questions. Carla is an incredible professional. She took time with us; she was thorough, knowledgeable, and comprehensive. Not only is Carla an excellent attorney, she is also an adoptive mother herself. Both would prove invaluable. She could relate and empathize. While informing us of the law, she didn’t lapse into “attorney speak”—she was aware of the potential risks and how to explain them so that we absorbed the information because she had literally been there.
There were social workers and home visits; we had a profile that detailed us, our marriage, and our hopes as potential parents. We were matched with a birth mother who was four months pregnant; we went to California to meet her. Cradle of Hope, a sister company completed the final study and visit; Cradle of Hope is connected to Calabrese Huff, so it was much easier to finalize with everyone on the same page. We waited in California for three days for the state to approve the adoption of our baby girl, which was finalized in California through an attorney there. We were absolutely over the moon.
When our daughter was two, we decided to adopt again. We worked with Amia, the legal assistant at Calabrese Huff, who was wonderful and helpful: an absolute advocate. This time, however, was more difficult. Our attempt to adopt fell through at four in the morning when the birth mother decided she did not want to place her child for adoption. I’m not going say the situation was not devastating, but Carla was up at the hospital attempting to solve the situation from any and all angles. When the birth mother showed the first sign that she might change her mind, Amia immediately contacted the social worker and Carla to go to the hospital. While ultimately the birth mother chose not to place her child for adoption, both Amia and Carla made every possible effort they could on our behalf.
After another admittedly riskier attempt to adopt a baby fell through, we felt we could not emotionally move forward to adopt again but Carla told me not to give up. While we weren’t even signed up as potential parents at this point, the adoption agency Carla had referred us to made us aware of a month-old baby available for adoption, and less than twenty-four hours later, our son was placed with us for adoption. Carla had fought so long and hard for us that when this situation arose, the agency called us first. Carla and Amia's were very supportive throughout this tumultuous time; I had their cell phones; they were available for us when we needed them.
Recently, my husband and I were on a foster and adoption panel for our church. We stressed to couples wanting to adopt the importance of connecting with an attorney who understood the complexities surrounding adoption. Offline to those who asked, we specifically recommended Carla and Calabrese Huff. I know three adoptive couples who have recently adopted without any disruptions; it’s not as if problems always occur. An attorney or an adoption agency cannot guarantee that a birth mother won’t change her mind in the eleventh hour. But having the safety net of an attorney who understands and is sensitive to the intricacies of the adoption process, to me, is a necessity. People ask, after what we’ve been through, and I always say definitively, absolutely, it is worth it. Yes, it is scary that a birth mother might change her mind, but there are risks with everything in life. Because we understood and took those risks, we now have two thriving children, ages one and four.
