I would not recommend Elliott Burdette as an attorney. What happend to me was that I gave him a $1,000 retainer in order to simply send a letter regarding a will to a a family member. Elliot said he would send out the letter within three days. Three days went by and he still had not sent out the letter. The letter had to be received by the recipient within a certain deadline that was fast approaching.
I called and left thirteen messages (recorded this) for Elliott at the rate of two messages per day for him to return my calls and he never did. I called and spoke to his secretary and several assistants he had working for him and they said they would have him call me..still he ignored my messages. I was only trying to find out when the letter would be sent out as the deadline was approaching.
I finally drove over to his office to find out if the letter had been sent, and if not, when it would be sent. I still did not meet with him that day but he called me the next day and said the letter would be sent out.
He sent the letter out without giving me a chance to review it. The wording of his letter caused more trouble because of it's demanding and threatening manner and I never would have wanted him to send this letter had he given me the opportunity to review it.
A lot of trouble resulted for me because of his letter and to make matters worse, he then tried to keep the whole $1,000 retainer fee for sending out one letter, a letter that I spent hours trying to get him to send out in the first place.
I would certainly not recommend Elliott Burdette as a probate lawyer. He was very accessible on the phone before I gave him the retainer fee, but as soon as he had the money, he ignored me.
