March 7th, 2016 Dear Mr. Hanshaw and Mr. Kennedy, I just wanted to write you a short note to let you know how grateful I am with how Charles handled my case. He kept me informed and more importantly he listened to me when I thought I had something to offer. I think we achieved some very important goals by combining his knowledge of the laws and procedures and my knowledge of the facts of this case whether we were in agreement or saw different ways to approach the strategy. Charles put a lot of effort and dedication for my case, it is a true reflection of hard work, persistence, dedication and a common goal mind during a long and upsetting process. He provided counsel and generosity during a truly difficult time for my family, his knowledge, determination and being upfront while addressing my concerns provided confidence on a very uncertain period of my life. My attorney David Wortham was amazing - he helped me purchase a business, helped with a suit that required 3 way negotiations to get a settlement, and later helped sell the business for us. Very solid at negotiation and I always felt he had our best interests at heart. He was also thoughtful about resources and would delegate when possible to a junior attorney. The way Mr James Eustace helped me on his vacation was incredibly inspiring. He was so supportive and helpful to me. Even though he was out of his office but he made sure that he responded to me on time and answered all my questions properly.He gave me 1 hour over the phone and explained to me that everything and didn’t charge me anything. For the last 2+ years, David and Hastings have been wonderful to work with. Any time we have a simple question or concern, David answers our call or gives a quick call back. Was honestly really disappointed when I met with this firm. They charge a pretty hefty consultation fee that no other law firms are charging. But they seemed legit so I paid it anyway. I’m a businessman who constantly has a variety of cases or just need legal advice often. I came to them with a bunch of different things I needed handled and they stuck me with two younger gentlemen who honestly didn’t seem like they knew what they were doing or talking about. Then they came back wanted to charge a $10,000 retainer for every single case. Even ones that needed a simple demand letter sent out. Not sure why we couldn’t do one $10,000 retainer and then continue to pay into that as it runs out like every other attorney. I think that they might be good attorneys but I wouldn’t know because I never got that far. I just felt like I got ripped off because I paid the consultation fee of several hundred dollars and then they gave me some insane price to basically tell me they didn’t want my business and then don’t refund the consultation fee. I’m sorry but I’m not giving a $50,000+ retainer. That is insane. I would highly suggest talking to other attorneys before paying them for a consultation with some of their associates.

David Wortham is an excellent attorney and he is awesome to work with. David helped us with the largest financial transaction of our lives - the sale of our business, which we had owned for over 40 years. He helped us think through so many details and took such great care of us along the way. We enjoyed working with him so much that we hired him to take care of our legal matters moving forward.

The firm provided stellar representation. They were pleasant to work with, good communicators, and tried to work with me to keep the costs of litigating under control where possible. I was very pleased with the outcome.

When I take the time to write a review its means my expectations have been met or exceeded. In the case of the law firm of Hanshaw Kennedy Hafen , LPP I would say they were exceeded which I will explain why later. Jodie was my first contact who answered several important questions to my full satisfaction and then arranged a consultation with the correct attorney. Alyssa was the attorney who I explained why the changes to my existing trust were required in my opinion. After listening she then offered options on how we could accomplish the end goal so we began to move forward. Why I say my my expectations were exceeded is I reside in Europe and was only returning to the states for a limited time. That being said almost everything had to be completed before I boarded my flight and the one document required to be able to complete the revisions to trust would not be available until near the end of my trip, a very tricky time frame to manage and it was managed perfectly. Yes perfectly and beyond my expectations because I dropped off the last document needed and I was given a draft copy for review and I realized that I would like to add a few additions and emailed in three emails during the evening. When I arrived to sign the trust the following day and have the notary stamp the trust everything was perfect. Alyssa Herrington handled my guardianship and divorce case for the better part of a year and in that time she was the most professional and knowledgeable lawyer you could ever ask for. She was present and would answer any and all questions we had. My case was a bit tricky due to the nature of things that had happened, but in the end Alyssa more than delivered what we had hoped and asked for.
