Last year, October 2020, when the filing dates became current for me, I was exploring my options to file for AP and AOS. My case was peculiar - (1) I moved on from the employer who filed my I-140 (2) I was unemployed (but had a job prospect) during that period of time. Onboarding the new job and starting a fresh labor and I-140 looked like a distant dream while the filing dates could potentially retrogress at any moment. I was almost on the brink of losing hope is when I consulted with Mr. Willy. He filed my case with 485J portability provision. My then future, now current employer had willingly agreed to sign the 485J and last week I received my Green Card. It feels surreal. Mr. Chiro lead my case and has always responded to my 'n' number of questions. Dhruti, Devang, Hazel and Jacqueline were all so fantastic along the process. I reached out to Willy thru India House when my family moved to Houston from NJ, around four years back. Along with discussing H1B transfer to the employer, we had a discussion about my Green Card also. He gave me one of the best advise that changed my GC route - instead of starting GC process from beginning with the new employer, his advise was to take 485J route with job portability option when date is current.
