I hired these guys several years ago for a distruction of property charge. The result? I was convicted, sentenced to two months in jail, and lost my security clearance permanently. This was my first offense ever and these guys could not keep me out of jail. They also told me I could get my security clearance back which is not true. I have never been able to get it back after all these years due to this. I was also forced to file a waiver for my right to appeal and expungement (which seemed moot since convictions are never expunged anyway in VA). Do not waste your money on these guys. You are better off getting a public defender. Note that all of the reviews on their website are fake (easy to do when you own the site) and they have many shill reviews on Google and other sites where they pay people to write positive reviews.

I was facing a misdemeanor charge that would have completely uprooted my life and family’s well being as I moved out of state and jurisdiction shortly after being charged. I consulted with a few other criminal defense attorneys prior to getting a consult with Mr. Anderson and my instincts led me to believe Patrick Anderson’s firm was the best route to pursue for representation. I am SO unbelievably grateful I trusted my gut on this. Mr. Anderson and his associate, Willie Mejia, went above and beyond to keep a federal misdemeanor charge from growing “arms and legs”, and helped me get a best case scenario out of a seemingly impossible situation. They preserved my freedom and that is priceless. I would hands down recommend them to anyone dealing with criminal federal charges in the NoVA community. Their professionalism, transparent communication, and compassion gave me peace of mind throughout the entire process from fearing the unknown to case closed!

If you find yourself in a situation that requires an attorney, let me recommend a firm that works hard to resolve the legal challenges of each client. How would I know that? Unfortunately, I have had to secure the PNA firm on different issues concerning a family member. Even though, I’ve interacted with many of the attorneys on staff, Jessica Richardson has been the one that was retained for several of the most recent cases. Throughout each process, Richardson has shown a certain character that allows you to feel comfortable in insuring that everything is going to alright. She was honest and forthright during each case and was able to obtain a much better result than we had anticipated. Jessica has been responsive and attentive to all of our concerns by answering our questions in detail with the most simplistic explanation, and always keeping us in the loop. It is clearly evident that when she is presenting her cases in court, she is quite knowledgeable in her field and is well respected.

Excellent service in every respect! Yancee Ellis, who handled my case, not only quickly understood the facts of the case from my descriptions, he also researched and uncovered additional facts on line, and from his sources, and developed winning defense arguments at the Preliminary Hearing, resulting in an extraordinarily rare, "No Probable Cause" outcome bringing my case to a successful conclusion. I hearty recommend him, and the firm for anyone needing good, through legal council.

I engaged Kylie Newsom of Moore, Christoff, & Siddiqui, to represent me as the Plaintiff to argue a civil litigation case concerning negligence in a dog attack. Kylie made an incisive examination of the facts, and questioned witnesses in court with precision and poise that resulted in a favorable ruling. I could not have been more pleased with Kylie’s diligence and heartily recommend her legal services.

Emily Sripinyo is a Legal Superstar! 🌟 Emily Sripinyo truly went above and beyond in reviewing my prenup. Despite juggling a busy schedule with other court cases, she made sure to dedicate ample time and attention to my needs. The prenup, originally drafted by my fiancée's lawyer, was a daunting 37 pages long, filled with complex legal jargon. Emily was a beacon of clarity and support, consistently reminding me that my fiancée and I are on the same team. She meticulously sifted through the document, eliminating unnecessary terms and provisions, and brilliantly condensed it to a much more manageable 24 pages. Her explanations were clear and thorough, making what seemed like an overwhelming task feel completely manageable. Emily's dedication, expertise, and personable approach made the entire process so much easier for me. I am incredibly grateful for her outstanding work and highly recommend her to anyone in need of legal assistance. Emily Sripinyo is truly the best! 🙌✨

Exceptional Representation: Kylie I can't express enough how grateful my roommate and I are for having Kylie represent us during our potential eviction ordeal. From the outset, Kylie's affordability, coupled with her exceptional communication skills, put us at ease. Throughout the entire process, she made sure we understood every step and procedure involved, ensuring transparency and clarity. Her dedication to our case was evident, and she went above and beyond to ensure a smooth resolution. Thanks to Kylie, what could have been a stressful experience turned into a manageable situation. We highly recommend her services to anyone in need of reliable legal representation. My roommate and I are young women with little experience of legal proceedings. I promise you won’t regret your decision!

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Alexandria, Virginia?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
