Mr. Kaplan was referred to handle the appeal process of a CPO that was filed and granted in the District of Columbia in 2014. From the beginning of this process Mr. Kaplan has remained firm that we have a very strong case - with multiple points of convincing and compelling legal arguments that would warrant a reversal. This was the plan. For the next 2 years, he worked towards the results. From submitting motions to allow more time to pay for over $2000 worth of transcripts or delay brief submission for the Supreme Court Elonis decision in June 2015, Mr. Kaplan was on top of every motion, and every detail. In spite of the appellee being represented by an attorney that opposed each motion - every brief Kaplan wrote oozed professionalism, a strong expert command of case law, and pin point razor sharp focus to the core issues of our case. It's not surprising that all motions were GRANTED. This case was fortunately selected for oral arguments - and Mr. Kaplan represented strongly in this domain. I listened to, and recorded the oral arguments and heard him direct the District of Columbia Court of Appeals judges to the salient facts of this case. It's not surprising that ruling was overturned - and our motion - GRANTED. Currently, Mr. Kaplan submitted two additional motions to publish the appellate's court decision, and rule 39 motion for fees. I have no doubt that we will be successful in both. Mr. Kaplan's hard work and mastery of his craft has done what I had thought was the impossible - made right that which was made wrong. Many lawyers are competent to practice law, but few are proficient enough to practice law at an expert/mastery level. Mr. Kaplan is just that - an expert in his field. He has an enormous wealth of knowledge, and a very intuitive grasp of what the focus of a case should be and zeroes in. It's why he gets the results as intended.

Recently (Nov), I had a court case in fairfax county for a driving violation regaurding my DUI. No major inflictions, just driving out side my restriction. I contacted David Deane and he was very straight forward with me and gave me a run down of what to expect. On the day of my court date he was very easy to work with. I told him my story, gave him details, and he worked for me to get the best result. Instead of having my liscence taken away, I ended up with a slap on the wrist (just a simple way of saying court fees and minor sentance). I can not say everyones court date will go as smoothly as mine, but I can say that I am satisfied with the service that David Deane provided. I would reccomend him to those dealing with a similar situation.
