He is excellent at setting expectations. One of the most common pieces of advice I received from family and friends was to “screw” over my ex, because if I didn’t, he would end up “screwing me” over. While my divorce was far from amicable, Misha kept it 100% transparent about what I was likely to get or not get with the caveat that anything is possible in family court. He stressed the fact that if we both settled feeling a little disappointed, but felt the outcome was fair, it should be seen as a win. Ultimately, all the decisions I made regarding what was proposed in the custody agreement and asset settlement followed Misha’s guidance. At one point my ex was trying to give me much less than my fair share, which I was considering in an effort to wrap up the divorce early, but Misha encouraged me to push back, and I ended up getting 3x more than I would have if I settled with the initial offer. He also brought me back to reality when I got upset about my exes parenting style, like feeding our toddler pop tarts 😊. 2. Extremely detail oriented and organized. I am amazed at Misha’s attention to detail, organizational skills, and memory! My ex hired an expensive veteran team of lawyers who fumbled key details, while Misha remembered minute details of the case that ended up supporting our position on an important decision that went in our favor. In conversations over the span of a year, I never needed to repeat details I had already shared. It’s obvious he takes impressive notes and spends lots of time and effort preparing for his clients. He also has a very sophisticated system for organizing documents for clients in OneDrive that was amazing for collecting discovery. 3. Easy to reach via email, phone, or text. I can’t think of a time when it took Misha more than 24 hours to respond to me. He is always available to take a call or respond to an email. 4. Reasonable rate and transparent about billing. Misha is far from inexpensive, but I feel like I got more than what I paid for. He was sensitive to my financial situation and made an effort to keep costs down. Additionally, all of his invoices all seemed reasonable. 5. Overall good person who has his client’s back. Misha is more that an amazing lawyer, he has become a good friend. He is empathetic and supportive – divorce is tough and having someone who you feel you trust and has your back is essential. At the same time, he is a no-nonsense negotiator that has little patience for lawyers that take the "screw over your ex while I bill you a ton of hours, even though I know you will likely not get the outcome you want" strategy.

Mr. Deane is the nicest, most communicative and easiest lawyer to have on your side. He returned my inquiry call immediately and gave me his honest advice as to what route to take regarding my traffic case. He had clear and kind communication throughout the entire process. Writing this just share what a great experience I had with Mr. Deane representing me. He clearly has the experience and knowledge to get outstanding results for his clients. Upon receiving a speeding infraction 63 in 45 (+13 mph) and failure to display the front plate, I did a net search on attorneys in Arlington and David Deane was one of the names that came up. Spent a few hours searching reviews and he indeed had the best reviews (almost all 5 stars). I contacted Mr. Deane and reached him directly rather than a run around with admins or paralegals trying to schedule a paid consultation. Upon discussing my case, as any good attorney would do, he stated that he can make no promises, but thought the infraction could be reduced to an equipment violation and no points considering my good driving record. I did not waste time to go to court and in my absence the case was disposed just as predicted. Speeding charge reduced to equipment violation (no points) and no front plate infraction dismissed with photo showing that I installed a tow hitch plate holder. Mr. Deanne is professional, practicing over 20 years and I would definitely recommend him to anyone that needs an honest and transparent attorney to represent them.
