Honest review. I stumbled across this lawfirm from google searching "divorce lawyers that specialize with fathers". I sent them an email out of desperation on a friday night and got a call back the very next saturday at 1:30PM. I explained my current situation over the phone and they brought me in for a free consultation. This is where i sat and met with Jonathan, my divorce attorney. One thing to consider when picking out an attorney is that you are not shopping for a therapist. You are shopping for an attorney. That is exactly what Jon is. What made me respect him is the fact that he made that very clear to me and advised me with the most honest and up to date laws. His paralegal Tatyana was exceptional in communicating with me and sending me over documents as needed. At 10:30PM on a thursday night i found myself in a nasty uneasy situation while locked in my room with my child. Out of desperation i emailed Jonathan and asked him "What do i do?". I don't know many lawyers but the fact that he was able to respond to my email with advice on how to properly handle that situation at 10:30PM on a thursday night says a lot about how he treats his clients. He will give you the best legal counsel possible, and when it comes time to fight it out in court, you will feel as confident as i did when he told me "If their attorney chooses to go to court, we will come out on top. I'm not worried about him". The other party decided to sign the agreement that we had sent over to them. Which brings up another point. When coming to a seperation/settlement agreement with your spouse, he will make points and ideas that are fair and honest for both parties. There are no cutting corners. He will give you the best legal advice possible so that if in the event you do go to court, you walk in there with confidence and the judge will see that you are doing right on your part such as paying child support before it is even court ordered, being civil with your spouse, and respectful when it comes to communication. In the world we live in, people are very quick to rush to google to find information on law and are quick to ask their friends. Stop wasting your time and have a chat with these people. You'll learn A LOT! Huge thankyou to Tatyana & Jon! You both made my entire divorce process an absolute breeze.

Tatyana Spurgeon worked on my case, and I found her at all times to be highly professional, efficient, compassionate, and polite. All communications were prompt and thorough. I worked with Amanda Stone-Swart and Jenny Peshoff for most of my family law issues. They were extremely attentive, and definitely an advocate for their clients. There were some extremely odd circumstances in my case and Amanda was able to research and respond with options/recommendations, in an efficient manner. I would highly recommend. I also worked very shortly with Tatyana and Jonathan, they were extremely professional as well.

During my divorce proceedings, they successfully divided our marital assets but failed to address our martial debts. I expected more due to the firm's rating and for the amount of money that I paid to retain their services. This was the worse legal experience ever! Never again!

I believe that Amanda Stone Swart and her team - specifically Jenny Peshoff did an excellent job helping me through a very difficult situation - my divorce. From my first meeting with Amanda - I thought I had found an attorney that would take care of me in providing me with the best guidance in getting a acceptable resolution for my divorce - and I was correct. Amanda and Jenny took care of my divorce professionally and made me feel like family - they always made time to help me understand what was happening - why it was happening - and what to expect in the future. I think aspects make Amanda and her team different. To be honest Amanda and Jenny helped provide guidance to my ex-wife's attorney. Often they were late with information or it was inadequate - they patiently informed him - again - what was needed and why. And when necessary provide strict guidance on what was needed and potential fallout if they did not provide the requested information. I have mentioned Jenny for a specific reason - Amanda is a very busy person which I believe is an indication of how good an attorney Amanda is - and Jenny was always available to help me with answering questions or relaying information to Amanda. Being able to always talk with Jenny while going through the divorce helped ease a lot of my concerns and anxiety. I was so impressed with Amanda and her team that I provided their names to a friend going through a divorce and he is using them as his divorce attorney. I can not say enough positive things about Amanda and Jenny - the best words I can use - I am glad they helped me. And they helped bring an acceptable resolution to my divorce. I have and will continue to recommend them as a team to use when going through a divorce.

Amanda Stone-Swart and her team were amazing. If you have never needed a lawyer before and unsure of what questions to ask, Amanda is your lawyer. I had never needed a lawyer before, and she was able to explain to me what the process was, what my options were and how my decisions would affected the options provided to me. I was nervous, but she ensured me that everything would be okay and that she would guide me through the process step by step. Tatyana Spurgeon, Amanda's paralegal also amazing. If Amanda was at court and unable to respond to my email, Tatyana was on it, I always received a return email within the hour, most times sooner. Jessica White the accountant kept up with my trust fund, and again if I had any questions at all, she would respond almost immediately. If you are fearful of hiring a law firm, this firm has top notch professionals. They aren't in it just for the money, they care about your justice and your rights! Thank you Amanda and team for being such AMAZING people and for the support you provided to me. I almost forgot they had other cases to attend too, that's how attentive they are. Amanda and Tatyana make you feel like your the only case they're working on.

My experience with Amanda Swart and para legal Jenny Peshoff was very good. This was my first exposure to the court system in Virginia and they were both very patient, knowledgeable and were able to explain everything to me in layman terms so that I fully understood what was to lay ahead. They were also very good to keep my best interests and the best interests of my children as their number one priority.

I contacted Livesay & Myers initially for consultation to get advise on how I should start the divorce process. Amanda was readily available and I got a good sense that she understood my situation. I hired her to help throughout the divorce process, give me guidance on what my legal rights were, and draft any necessary legal documents. My case took some twists and turns during the process and I was always able to get hold of Amanda. Her communications with opposing counsel were fast, accurate and to the point. Her communication with me as to what had taken place was excellent! And really, that is the most important thing. Divorce is a chess game and not knowing what the last move was will cause unneeded stress! I would (and have) recommend Amanda to anyone needing the services of a divorce lawyer.
