OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE - Ms. Guerra was very professional during every phase of this process (estate documents). I had a million questions and changes and Ms. Guerra was very patient, explained in terms that I could understand and always pleasant. This was especially important because this transaction took place during the beginning of the COVID-19 epidemic, but they were able to safely handle this transaction for everyone involved.

We did our estate planning through Yao Law and although I started the process in a pre-covid world we quickly had to pivot and handle the final stages in the new covid environment which created a few additional challenges. However, we had a great experience, got great clear responsiveness back from the firm, and have now fully executed our documents.

Bad Experience. Looking for a lawyer for estate planning. The secretary sent me the email saying that Mr. Matthew Yao will be the lawyer who handles the legal matter but it ended up that an assistant presented in the meeting. Mr. Yao was no show. To make things worse, the assistant acted as the legal advisor who told me that I need to pay $500 to deed back the property from LLC to the trust! Well, I talked true lawyers everyone said the property should remain in LLC and only put LLC to the trust, which not only avoids the extra cost but also be my best interest and protection. This firm is mess up, can't recommend it.

I had the opportunity to work with Jay Pelkofer on a matter involving county government that lasted for more than a year. During that time, dealing with the government was often frustrating for me. Jay remained patient and professional. Throughout the ordeal, the county would go silent for weeks or even months. When they finally came back, Jay was quickly up to speed and, overall, was quite responsive to requests from me or the county. But most importantly, I was impressed by how much Jay cared about my case. He listened to my perspective. While he tried to keep me realistic, I sensed how much he cared about me and the outcome of my case. I recommend you consider Jay for your legal needs.

I spoke with Jay Pelkofer regarding my issue and he was highly dismissive and unprofessional. He seemed more interested in sounding smart than understanding my situation and needs. I ended up just leaving mid-conversation due to his abrasiveness - let alone lack of sound legal advice.

I worked with Jay for a landlord-tenant issue and he did an excellent job. Highly recommend him. I called around and his rates plus response time were the best. Being my first lawsuit, I was nervous about the process but he sat down with me, asked me the right questions, and focused the issue to present it to court. At court, the plaintiff was aggressive and lied about many things, and I wanted to respond, but Jay calmly told me most stuff doesn’t matter, and he was right. He was able to focus testimony and questions to exactly what the judge wanted to know. If I have a future issue, I will definitely hire him again.
