I highly recommend Mr. Whitbeck and his team to represent your side in a divorce. I needed a lawyer to defend and protect me from the constant barrage of attacks and demands from opposing counsel and wife and he did that swiftly and effectively. I also needed a lawyer to be cost effective while at the same time, ensuring that my case was properly attended. Lastly I needed a lawyer who was willing to listen to my arguments, to believe in them and where necessary, incorporate them into his own. John did all that and more and I couldn't be more satisfied with his handling of my divorce.

Nothing but positive things can be said about this entire team. I was referred to them by a family friend, when I noticed that my current attorney at the time was not giving my case the proper time and attention I was after. I received a phone call from Whitbeck & Bennett's office by 10:00AM Monday when I had submitted the inquiry form on a Saturday. I advised them of my situation, and requested an attorney who does not play games, and who will get the job done. I had an appointment set for a Thursday, but got my days mixed up and showed up to their offices a day before. They were still able to accommodate a consultation for me, and this is where I met James Beglis. James Beglis is what I would consider a shark. During the consultation, he brought his laptop in and was taking diligent notes the entire time. As my case was particular in needing quick action due to time constraints, him and his entire team were very accommodating of that factor. Their submission of court documents, paperwork, inquiries, etc. was all done in a quick and timely fashion. All documents and paperwork sent out by them was 100% correct. This is not your typical cheap firm that will simply copy and paste names on documents used for other cases, make spelling errors, or anything of that nature. Everything they do is 100% complete, accurate, and mistake free, but most importantly, is done with integrity. In court, you feel extremely confident with Jim representing you. He is very charismatic and down to earth. He loves to read, argue, and write. Best combo for an attorney if you ask my opinion. He will give you the honest truth, and offer solid advice on what to do and how to do it. Just as anything goes, you get what you pay for. Money was well spent. Communication, response time, everything was 10/10.

I appreciate James Beglis helping me in that difficult time for me. He was responsive, professional and understanding. I am happy I found him close to my home and also during Corona virus pandemic I appreciate him having his office opened and made time for me to meet up in person. Contacted WhitbeckBennet PLLC to help us recover money that was due to us from our Ex Landlord. Our Ex Landlord tried to keep our 4500 rental deposit for 2 months as well as our 380 dollar dog deposit. He tried to claim we had dirty carpet damaged walls and and damaged floors. None were true as we provided pictures before we moved in after we moved out receipts for professional cleaning of carpet and maid service and zero damage from our dog. We did however show damage caused by his warranty contractor. Elizabeth and Sydney and WhitbeckBennet Team compiled all our photos receipts and history of events resulting in damage from his warranty contractor. They confronted the landlord with the proof and our side of the story. He conceded once confronted with the evidence warrant of debt and a pending court trial, and the consequences of us taking him to court. WhitbeckBennet kept us informed and worked within our budget as far as retainer and fees. They provided us with the best options and utilization of our money. They were extremely professional and Savvy in getting this case concluded. I really felt comfortable that they were truly working for us and had us received the maximum and full amount that we requested. Plain and simple they put our ex landlord in his place and taught him one important lesson about trying to scam, hold or swindle us from what we are owed. I would highly recommend Kristin Glenn. She is very knowledgeable, compassionate, and listened to my concerns. She knew exactly what to do to ensure the correct information was provided to result in a fair and equitable child support agreement, which took knowledge of the law and determination on her part. She also helped ensure that my child was not involved in the legal proceedings. A difficult situation was taken care of smoothly and in a very professional manner. I am very appreciative of all that she did for me and my family.

I had a will, advanced directives, and transfer on death for my accounts, but I knew I need some more documents to have a complete estate plan. I posted on the neighborhood Facebook page. Eight lawyers were recommended. What attracted me to WhitbeckBennett was that it was a Family Law practice with multiple income streams. Most of the other lawyers just wrote about trusts on their web site. For my situation, I did not believe I needed to get a trust. After meeting with attorney James Beglis, he determined that I just needed to add a power-of-attorney and do a transfer on death document for my house to have a complete estate plan. So I was able to save money to get a complete estate plan done.

Furthermore, they did this during the covid-19 pandemic, which wasn't easy since the Virginia courts were largely inaccessible throughout. The firm helped me prepare for trial, carefully laid out the case for modifying support after emancipation of one child, and represented me in trial in a fair and factually-driven manner in alignment with my personal beliefs. They understood the complexities of multi-state divorce issues and made sure my rights were protected under the law.
