I must say, from day one Atty Jeff Martin was there -readily offering advice and calming my nerves with his knowledge. He was the only attorney to offer advice and say, even if you don't choose me, these are things you should know. I felt the Lord guided me to use his service. Was I right to listen? Yes. He is a man of God and true to his word. He wasn't misleading and advised some of the requests I was making may not be possible. In the end, everything worked out as I requested. He listens to your concerns and doesn't make empty promises. That is what I appreciated the most, integrity and honesty.

Michael recently represented me for a reckless speeding ticket. He got it reduced to improper driving and even talked to prosecutor into reducing my fine by half. He had already made arrangements with the prosecutor before my trial began, so when we were called, it took less than 3 minutes to come to an agreement. Very seamless experience. I would highly recommend Mr. Tillotson.

I never leave bad reviews and in fact, this is the first one I’ve ever drafted and submitted anywhere but I feel compelled to warn others about Mike Tillotson and let them know of my very bad experience doing business with this attorney - Mike Tillotson. He is a good talker but in the end, I was out over $8,000 and he was unable to help me with a first conviction. I trusted him and stayed loyal to the end to my own detriment when I should have trusted my gut and jumped ship and got another attorney who would have actually went to bat for me. Lesson learned. If your intuition is telling you this man is a snake or a shark and not to be trusted, do yourself a favor and don’t keep giving money to this person expecting this person to fight for you. My life is ruined over trusting this man’s flowery words that he would fight for me and help me and he did absolutely nothing but make excuses and pitch his book. Please do not waste your money. This man is a good talker and loves to brag about his empty accomplishments but he will take your money with no remorse and make promises he can not keep. He simply is lacking in moral character and I am not saying this simply because he did not help me. I am saying this to caution others not to be so naive like I was. Take Heed!

Mr Tillotson and Mr Martin are very knowledgeable and professional. Them and their staff are very friendly and seem to care about the clients.

Mark Matney is a conscientious lawyer (good natured too) that will work on your behalf. His knowledge and expertise is exceptional. Watching him work the court room purposefully and meticulously let me know that he had experience— the man had a plan. It made me grateful to realize that there are some people that still care about pride in work and delivering good customer service while not nickel and diming you every step of the way. Rates are not cheap nor are they steep, but equitable. If I could put him on retainer for any possible future legal issues, whatever they could be, I would. I retained him to handle a traffic case, in Hampton, for a professional relative of mine with an absolutely horrendous driving history/record, and I mean like atrocious. My experience with Mark Matney was a very good one. I had a speeding ticket, and Mark had very good advise for me before the case. He and his team were very good about keeping me up to date on details for the court case. And he was able to get my ticket dismissed.

I was pulled over and charged with DWI in April 2018. I found Mr. Tillotson by doing a search for top DUI Lawyers in Richmond. He came up even though he was in Newport News. I called his office and spoke with him about my case and decided to retain him for my case. Not knowing what to expect and feeling like my life was over and there was no way to get out of this charge, he made me feel better with his knowledge of different aspects of DUI charges. He will go through your case bit by bit and look at everything. The morning we went to court, he spoke with the prosecutor, who didn't seem like he was willing to budge. Mr. Tillotson was very persistent with the prosecutor and the arresting officer on the evidence he had to prove that the officer exaggerated in his report as well as the fact that I was on a low carb diet, which can affect your BAC. He was able to get them to agree to reduce the charge down to a Reckless Driving charge with a restricted license for 6 months, which is much better than what I would have received if convicted of a DUI/DWI. I can not recommend a better lawyer for DUI/DWI charges. He is well worth the money spent.

Mark represented me for a speeding ticket I received when traveling through Virginia. He gave me great advice leading up to the court date that showed I was serious about correcting the mistake I made the day of the ticket. He was always available leading up to the court date, his staff was always friendly and helpful. On the day of the court date, Mark was all positive energy and calmed any nerves I had leading up to my hearing. By the end of it all he was able to make my case and the court threw out my ticket and it was never put on my record. I would highly recommend Mark and his staff in the future.
