The team at Promise Law is exceptional. Attorney Geneva Perry created my original estate plan in 2012. After 9 years it was time for a complete overhaul. This endeavor was stressful for me. Ms. Perry's immense knowledge, insightfulness, and commitment eliminated all of that stress. I had very specific goals in mind which she and I discussed thoroughly. Ms. Perry thoughtfully updated my plan to reflect those goals. I did not receive a generic legal document covering my bases. Working with Geneva Perry and the staff at Promise Law was a great experience. My wife worked at a large law firm for years. Recently, I was looking for a law firm to handle all my estate planning needs. After doing some research and reading reviews, I contacted Attorney Geneva Perry at Promise Law Center. I was starting from scratch and Attorney Perry was very helpful on educating me on all the options available to satisfy my objectives. After attending their initial online Estate Planning Workshop, I met with Attorney Perry, and she walked me through the whole process explaining everything in very understandable language. Attorney Perry asked in depth questions to ensure I had considered everything and was aware of all my options and didn’t over look anything. I did have some particulars which I wanted addressed and she made sure everything was included in my final paperwork. In the end she put together a concise Estate Plan for me that consisted of the formation of Trust, Will, Power of Attorney, and Advanced Medical Directives. I found Attorney Perry and all the associates I dealt with at Promise Law Center to be friendly, knowledgeable and handled things in a very timely manner. Having Geneva draw up my estate plan was such a good experience. I have peace of mind that my loved ones will be taken care of without hassle. I just went through probate with my parents and it was a nightmare. I encourage everyone to have an estate plan. Geneva was professional, thorough and great to work with! Buyer beware. If there could be a zero star rating, that's what this firm should receive. We sold a house in Newport News in Nov 2019 and the level of poor communication, lack of organization, and overall mishandling of title service combined with their across the hallway counterparts doing underwriting for title insurance was astonishingly terrible. Lack of accountability on mistakes and inability to take responsibility to correct their mistakes made the sale of our home a bad experience. Do yourself a favor, do *NOT* let your realtor nor your title/escrow company get this law firm involved with your home purchase or sell. My guess is that they underbid other law firms in the area (so they win by being cheap) but you get what you pay for which is really bad service from incompetent people.
