Hopefully, you never require the need for the services of a criminal defense attorney, but if you find yourself in a predicament then hiring Ghislaine Storr-Burks (or GSB as I referred to her with my family and friends) would definitely be a decision you wouldn’t regret. From the first moment I stepped into the office and met with David (Paralegal) for my initial consultation, I felt that I was in great hands. He was direct and informative and answered all of my questions. This wouldn’t be the last time I dealt with him and every time I did, he was professional and kind. The first time I met GSB, I felt her command presence immediately. Yet through this presence, there was also compassion and empathy and not once did I feel like she wasn’t looking out for my best interests. With that said, during the year and a half that I retained her services and expertise, there was a couple of times that I needed a firm and direct advisement of my mindset and she was able to provide that too in a very professional manner without being too harsh. If you’re overly sensitive, I recommend buckling up for the ride of the judicial system, especially if you’re a first time offender like myself, and realize that you just might need a metaphorical “good, swift kick in the butt”. GSB stood with me in JDR and Circuit Court for preliminary hearings, bond hearings, protective order hearings and sentencing and I felt very confident throughout each step of the process as she was very informative and experienced with every facet of the courtroom proceedings. She protected me from sensitive things that I needed to not answer for, while also affording me the opportunity to accept responsibility for my actions and receive the best possible outcome of punishment. Ms. Storr-Burks was very communicative and the staff she has working for her (David and Shelley) were extremely helpful, friendly and professional. When she was busy with another court or client, Jamie Walker (Associate Lawyer) would substitute in her place and his law enforcement background was apparent and informative as well! Even months after needing her services, she still checks in with me from time to time. By the grace of God and the representation by GSB, I feel like I am best set up to continue on with my life in an upward trajectory. With all that said, I hope to never have to retain her services again! 🤣😂 But should that ever happen, my first call would be to GARDNER & BURKS, P.C!
