One day we received the worst call imaginable as parents. The police department wanted to interview our child. Upon going through the process, we realized the police department didn't have our child's best interest in mind and decided to not go forward with the interview. A short time later, the Spotyslvania Sheriff's office decided to detain our juvenile son, whom has never been in trouble with the law. To make matters worse, the courts wouldn't release our child do to the nature of the charges. At this point, as parents we knew we needed the best legal representation possible due to the sensitivity of the situation at hand and charges.. After speaking with several attorneys in the area. We had a certain feeling about Attorney Storr Burks. She listened, didn't make any promises but stated she would represent our childs, best interest and standup for our child. After retaining Attorney Storr Burks. She moved forward with a in person visit at the local Juvenile Detention center. Immediately she discovered the vast differences in the statement that was provided to law enforcement by the other party and the statement of events provided by our child. In fact, she believed in our child and saw the person, not the charges or the person stuck within Juvenile Detention. Needless to say, Attorney Storr Burks was able the get an immediate court date scheduled and our child was released from Juvenile Dentention. On the next court date, three most severe charges were Nole Prosecuted and our child was scheduled for counseling. Due to the inability of the County Juvenile Sevices to meet the requirements within a timely manner. Attorney Storr Burks was able to work out an agreement, where we would solicit the services of a private professional. This agreement allowed to process to move forward, our child would continue to be seen as a person, verse a number or as part of a case load. After a number of appointments, a favorable report was provided on our child participation, understanding and willingness to be truthful. On the very next court date, the final charge was dismissed. Allowing our child to move forward and pursue dreams of joining the military. After all, our child had just scored extremely high numbers on PiCAT just weeks before all this happened. Attorney Storr Burks cared and believed in our child. Due to her integrity, professionalism, knowledge and expertise our child is currently in the process of moving forward with a dream career within the military.
