If I could give negative 5 stars I would. This place is a scam. Don’t waste your money or time. There are way better attorneys in the area. Had we not called 2 days before our hearing no one would have shown up to represent us. They double bill because they are disorganized. I would have been a better advocate going into my hearing alone. Attorney Wood did not advocate in any capacity. She just sat there. We hired attorney Shupert but she promised she would be the one in court however because she is so disorganized “they” never had it on her calendar.

Watching my daughters family fall apart is like an emotional roller coaster that feels literally like your heart is being ripped out of your chest. I went with my daughter to meet with Cynthia Chaing. We were in the middle of the pandemic and that added an extra layer of difficulty to this process but Cynthia was so calm and welcoming. She explained everything in detail and she wants to empower her clients to be part of the process of making decisions. Little did we know that Cynthia would become our “rock” for which my daughter and I could land and get reassurance, support, and help if needed. We felt very secure that Cynthia knew what to do to protect my daughter and grandchildren! The day of the court hearing Cynthia negotiated with opposing counsel and a successful outcome was achieved for my daughter and grandchildren! If, you’re looking for an attorney, look no further than right here! You will be treated with kindness, dignity and respect throughout the process and in turn you will be with someone who is dedicated focused driven and has an incredible work ethic! Cynthia is an excellent attorney that is well respected, personable, extremely intelligent, and has an impeccable understanding of family law. She has represented me for several years with a series of complex family law matters including a protective order, divorce, custody, and visitation. I came to Cynthia distraught and needing representation in a very short time frame. I was previously represented by a separate established law firm but with inadequate results. Cynthia was booked out for nearly a month but both she and her staff were compassionate as I pleaded for a consult. She provided a consult within days and even though her schedule was booked she agreed to take my case with less than two weeks of my initial court date. My situation was complex and when another well respected attorney declined my case due to fears for their safety, Cynthia did not back down. Instead, she listened, gathered facts, and assessed my situation. This is one trait, of many, that I love about her. She is fierce both in and out of the court room, representing her clients armed with tenacity and case law. She is straight forward and does not fluff possible outcomes but instead diligently prepares you for what may lie ahead. Each time we have stepped in court (and there have been many) we’ve had success. The moment she stepped into the lives of my children and I, our quality of life significantly improved. We have been safe and incredibly happy and for this I am forever grateful. Because she’s represented me for so long, I can assure you she represents both her female and male clients equally advocating for their rights and their children’s well being. She’s an experienced GAL and even dedicates time to help disadvantaged persons needing family law assistance. I share this because in my opinion, this speaks multitudes about her as a person as well as her skillset which undoubtedly is formed by her ability to see cases from a wide range of aspects. There is no other attorney I would have preferred to represent me. Her paralegal, Tammy, is as diligent and has excellent communication skills and attention to detail. In sum, Cynthia Chaing is an excellent attorney that you can confidently walk alongside in a courtroom knowing she will deliver and do so both fiercely and eloquently. My advice for anyone reading this, be prepared and organized so Cynthia can focus on representing you. And if it requires saving or shifting money to pay a retainer, what else is a more important investment than your children?

Shupert & Chaing Anyone looking for dedicated attorneys look no further, Cynthia Chaing and Jennifer Shupert are incredibly talented, strategic and most importantly honest. We were referred to the firm by another attorney. We initially met with Cynthia days before Christmas with a hearing scheduled with in weeks in circuit court. Our case was complicated to say the least. We were granted a trial January of 2020, then covid happened and complicated things even more. We did not end up in trial until October. Through all of it we never felt we were doing it alone. Cynthia always made sure we were updated and explained everything to us every step of the way. I can not even put into words the support we received from Cynthia, Jennifer, Tammy, Deborah and Hollie we were so lucky to have them all on our side. Cynthia was just as dedicated, focused and driven in our case as we were, there were long days and even longer nights. I hope Cynthia know she will always have a special place in my heart. Going through a contested divorce proceeding is an emotional roller coaster ride that no one wants to ride alone, especially if you have been married for almost 25 years. Nonetheless; when I hired Cynthia Chaing, I was definitely NOT alone. She had an entire “Wonder Woman” team, which included, Jennifer Shupert - Partner, Tammy Womack - Paralegal and Deborah Risley - Office Manager. The key for me was that Cynthia and I were so compatible and that she made me feel as if my case was always high priority. I had tremendous respect for the experience she brought to the table and her ability to negotiate was definitely noteworthy. I was especially impressed that during the entire process, it was evident that Cynthia Chaing was well-respected among her peers and the judges. I had such an undeniable trust with her. Her favorite saying to me was, “Does that make sense?” because it was important to her that I had a complete understanding of the process and that I was continuously updated of findings from opposing counsel. I also had the unique opportunity to be actively engaged in my case and I witnessed firsthand her focus, drive and work ethic. COVID-19 posed its own challenges, as we had to go to trial virtually. It was in the form of a Zoom Call, just a view of our faces, but when Cynthia Chaing appeared on the screen, that is when I’m sure that even the Judge felt the WOW factor!! We had a full view of her team that was set up in their elegant conference room and it was at that point that I got this overwhelming sense of calmness that this was going to be a favorable outcome because they created a backdrop that said, “We Win!” I am happy to say, that is exactly what happened. “We Won!” It is without hesitation, that I strongly recommend Cynthia Chaing as your Family Law Attorney.

Attorney Chaing was an invaluable guide and advocate navigating the painful, complicated process of divorce. My former spouse and I entered the process amicably, unified in our goals of a respectful process and a fair outcome. He and I did not always agree on "fair", of course, and she was adept at negotiating in my favor when indicated. At other times, Attorney Chaing was prepared to press more aggressively for terms I was willing to concede. She ensured I was educated on the law and customs and respected my wishes. Professional, simultaneously approachable and firm, she navigated a fine line with grace to craft a mutually satisfactory agreement. More than two years later, my former spouse and I not only remain satisfied both with the process and with the outcome, we also remain excellent parenting partners and friends.

I may as well have taken thousands of dollars and flushed it all down the toilet. We were told this was a great law firm and so I hired them to represent me in a custody case for my two oldest children. Worst decision Ive ever made. I ended up with an even worse custody agreement than I started out with. Thousands of dollars spent and not one single thing was accomplished. Not one. We spent money and time in their office writing up drafts and proposals that were apparently sent over to the opposing counsel just to hear things like “they never got back to us” Do not waste your time here. Find a law firm that cares about what’s happening and is not trying to suck you dry.

I hired Ms. Chaing for what I thought was a SIMPLE custody case. This was a hard decision as I wanted to navigate the court system on my own. I made the right decision, why chance the most important thing in your lifetime?! You are already up every night stressed, why not have someone in your corner! The case took 8 months due to the multiple hearings and even though it felt like an eternity, it was pushed along quicker due to Ms. Chaing. I did get the outcome that was in the best interest of my son. Custody claims are not easy to navigate, can change quickly and the guardians are too busy to really dig into the details of the cases. I strongly recommend Ms. Chaing, she is responsive, easy to work with, will explain all scenarios and give you a realistic picture of how the case will go. Just provide her with your support and she does the rest!

Cynthia was very understanding of my situation from the very start. Not only was she great with handling everything, I felt trusted in the fact that she took pride in her work. Her confidence left me without doubt from start to finish. She is very detail oriented, she worked with me through my different situations (pregnant at the time) and also is very personable. The consultation was fairly easy. She took time to listen and allowed me to elaborate on every concern. In return, Cynthia was able to tell me what it would take to attain all possible outcomes. She finishes tasks in a timely manner. Not once was there a delay caused on her end. Communication was never a hassle. Responses were always received quicker than expected. More importantly, I loved how she was able to explain anything I didn’t understand. Even after all business was done (got everything I set out for), she still called me to check on me and the baby. Cynthia Chaing was sent from heaven! My husband and I were in a very serious and complex Grandparents visitation/custody battle .
