I worked with Marya Noyes, who is a Limited License Legal Technician when I went through my divorce. Marya was very knowledgeable about the law and upfront about everything that I needed to know that could be a possible outcome for my situation. I could be myself with Marya which was valuable to me in our communication. She was prompt with her responses and easy to work with. Divorce is an emotional process and Marya was always understanding and professional with me. I felt confident knowing she was on my side.

The lawyer doesn’t reply to calls and emails after weeks and doesn’t provide the promised services in a timely manner. The easy case was delayed too much and a lot of uncertainty remains.

Marya is a true professional. She is very well versed in family law and has a background in real estate which comes in handy when advising on property division in a divorce. She will be up front with you as to how things work legally and what is realistic and not realistic. She has done an excellent job representing me via written correspondence as well as in pre-trial proceedings. She is very responsive and detailed. She makes herself available particularly when time is of the essence. She prepared all documents required for my divorce. She advised me on how to handle a situation where there had been past substance abuse issues by my ex husband. She helped me navigate his lack of compliance and when he was stalling and dragging things out, she helped me make a "plan b" incase our next steps were going to trial. After everything was said and done and my ex husband did not meet the agreed upon date to refinance our community property (home) and pay me 50% of the equity as agreed upon. She advised me through the situation and corresponded with him to resolve the issue. She performed all the duties of a family lawyer at a more affordable cost because her Legal Technician (LLLT) credential is not billed as high as a JD. She gave me peace of mind and much needed direction at a very vulnerable time in my life. I truly did not know what the process or steps were going forward since I am so unexperienced with any type of legal issues nor did I have the bandwidth to educate myself on such matters. Marya was a guiding light through this process and I am sure my favorable outcome was due to her expertise and guidance.

This review is for Marya Noyes, the firm's LLLT. That stands for limited license legal technician. They are basically the nurse practitioners of lawyers - can't appear for you in court, but can help you with filings, prep, procedure and such. We've been fighting for six years to protect kids in an extremely contentious, high conflict situation with my partner's mentally ill ex spouse. At times we've been represented and at times we go it alone - but when we represent ourselves, that's when we need help with procedure, forms, deadlines, rules, etc. That's where Marya comes in. She's super flexible. You can write your own material and have her edit, or she can write for you. She can file for you and all of that, too. It just depends on how self-sufficient you are -- she fills in the gaps. if you're confident representing yourself in court (or even if you're not but can't afford an attorney), she can help make sure you get the right stuff filed on time and in proper order. Saves a lot of money and she's also very empathetic and understanding. You'll be glad to have her in your corner.
