Bruce was absolutely perfect to work with. Super polite and informative. If I was ever confused about anything he took his time to explain and answer in detail every question I had. Was always just a phone call or text away and made sure I was always kept up to date with any changes to my case.

Front desk lady is a pain and quite rude. You can leave as many voicemails as you want & you better hope they return your call. Bruce was my attorney and without any reason or cause appointed me to another attorney. Quite frankly he is very egotistical. While I was in court he was getting frustrated at the judge and had the audacity to laugh at her when she opposed his opinion. I was embarrassed and ashamed to have him represent me. DO NOT HAVE THEM REPRESENT YOU!!!!. You’re better off finding another public defender. They are just a bunch of over worked under pained attorneys. If the front desk lady doesn’t seem to like working there imagine how the attorneys feel.

This place is terrible. Ya Brandon's a great attorney when he actually shows up. I'm my experience it'll be Brandon meeting with you until it's time for a serious court date then he will either send his Dad who comes into court looking like a disheveled alcoholic and has a terrible attitude or he will send some bop in a skirt who knows nothing about my case. They don't file the motions I instruct them t or call me back ever. I have been on 2 year probation going on 6 years partly because of their negligence. I have filed a motion to fire them which was upheld today in court and will now be going pro se

DUI Heroes really lives up to their name! Every member of the team lead with compassion but were highly professional. They were detail oriented, commutative and organized. Rachel Reich was my true hero! She was top notch!!! She is firm with defense. I could tell that she truly was looking out for my best interest. I LOVED how detailed she was as I never had to question what I needed to do and what was happening. She took the scariest part out of my situation which was the unknown. The success of the team is definitely inspired by Jonathan Dichter, the founder. He is very compassionate and his calmness and kindness helped tremendously in the beginning. My family and I were highly anxious and scared and his demeanor helped calm that down so we could make a quality decision. I also want to thank Lexi Bryon and Christopher Wong. They were on the team that helped me and I always appreciated their updates and friendliness. I almost forgot. They give a deal to get your breathalyzer at Lifesafer so you can save some money. This is not a cheap experience so every savings is valuable. What mattered to me most is that they NEVER made me feel ashamed. They actually said they were proud of my accomplishments in recovery (which I entered after my DUI). I was not in a good place and this was very much needed to help me recover. From every morsal of my heart - Thank you all!!

Rachel was very knowledgeable and steadfast throughout the process. She was patient and answered all my questions and I always felt like I was in great hands. In a very stressful and emotional time for me personally, Rachel was a consistent anchor point for me and I am glad I hired her!

Spoke with Chris Wong. My boyfriend is dealing with WA DoL. He's so close to getting his compliance completed when the 'goal line' was moved. Chris confirmed that they are a bureaucracy & with each interaction, he gets a different answer Appreciated Chris' quick response and his voice of reason.

After our first conversation I felt confident that I chose the right lawyer. Prairie and her team were fantastic. I normally don't leave reviews but this one was well earned. I was informed every step of the process, communication was top notch. I'm so happy and thankful for the results of my case, honestly I don't think I could have had a better outcome. I highly recommend Prairie!

Prairie and her team were amazing! Their follow up and follow through is unlike anything I’ve ever experience across the board in the professional world. Literally did everything they said they would, and then continued to help beyond that going way above and beyond what was promised. The results of their efforts was the best it could be and surpassed all my expectations. I couldn’t possibly recommend her more enthusiastically.

From the first consultation, and throughout the entire process, Prairie was amazing. I had never been faced with a fish and wildlife infraction and her professionalism helped make a daunting situation feel manageable; she answered all of my questions and created a game plan. In the end, rather than being charged with two gross misdemeanors, Prairie was able to have one charge reduced to a ticket and the other was completely dismissed. I highly recommend the entire team at Lance Fryrear; every person I interacted with was professional, courteous, and informative. Thank you, Prairie, you truly are a life saver.

Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Lynnwood, Washington?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
