I recently had the pleasure of working with Tanya for my citizenship application, and I cannot recommend her services enough. Her dedication and commitment to helping her clients are truly remarkable. From the very beginning, she demonstrated a deep understanding of the immigration process, and her guidance was invaluable. Her proactive approach was evident when she scheduled a rehearsal for my immigration interview without me even asking. This kind of foresight and preparation really set my mind at ease. Her support didn't stop there. On the day of my interview, she accompanied me and waited for hours without any complaint. This level of dedication is rare and showed her genuine commitment to my case. What really stands out about Tanya is her honesty and dedication, not just to her clients but to the community as a whole. She is not motivated by money but by a sincere desire to help. Her professionalism, combined with her kind and compassionate nature, makes her an exceptional attorney and a wonderful person. If you're looking for an immigration attorney who will handle your case with the utmost care and professionalism, look no further. Tanya is the best in the field, and I am deeply grateful for her help in achieving my dream of becoming a citizen.

When I was researching for a immigration lawyer I was immediately drawn to Miss Tanya just by looking at her picture, When I finally met her, she greeted my daughter and I with a huge smile. I was nervous at first but she made it very easy to warm up to her and chat casually like we've known each other for years. So during the process of getting my PR status changed, she made sure to make me feel like I was her only client and she was giving my case all the attention it needs. She never failed to update me, always on the ball. Even while waiting for updates she would just send me a text just to say hi. If your looking for a good lawyer who is kind, friendly and knows what she's doing I highly recommend you give her a call. I promise you wont be disappointed. Hassle free. She will be there for you every step of the way. Thank you Tanya Fekri

Tanya was such a helpful lawyer. The first time I met her I easily was put to ease with my immigration situation. She explained everything I needed to do thoroughly and was on top of any questions that I had. And on top of everything she is so nice. I don’t have a lot of experiences with lawyers but she has definitely set the bar. You will not be disappointed when working with her.

Jensen was instrumental in helping us break up a log jam with regards to an insurance claim. There were multiple parties involved: our insurance, the HOA, the HOA's insurance, and a few others. Opposing lawyers wanted to litigate, others were incompetent and Jensen expertly navigated them all. Highly recommend him for his knowledge, efficiency, and the ability to guide/ coach us through our interactions. Will absolutely work with Jensen for any legal needs in the future.

Jensen helped me defeat a twisted federal civil suit involving two other defendants. He showed an excellent knowledge of the court, planned very well, and negotiated hard to get a dismissal. I was also impressed at how good he was at keeping me informed and explaining my options at each step.

Krystal helped me and my family during a very rough time. Her mediation skills and knowledge of the law were phenomenal. She made us feel as if we were her only clients. She has a heart, which is often times hard to find in the law. She was also very affordable…we will definitely use her again should we need a lawyer.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Lynnwood, Washington?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
