He’s just the best!!!!!!

Nelson Boyd Attorneys represented me in a bicycle crash and did an excellent job. They are a caring, professional team, where I got the benefit of them both working on my case together. Each brought their individual strengths to my representation. As much as a legal intervention is an inherently stressful undertaking, Nelson Boyd made the experience as low-stress as possible. They did this by being good listeners, providing assurances that they were fighting for me, providing prompt and excellent communications, and always doing what they said they would do. My suit was settled satisfactorily (they worked on contingency) prior to reaching court, which was preferable since it took nearly two years to get to that point-- though not due to any fault of Nelson Boyd. Going to court would likely have taken another six months or longer. My case involved personal injury and I would highly recommend this team to anyone needing this sort of representation -- and probably other issues, as well. At minimum, it will be worth your while to call them to discuss your problem.

James Stensel was invaluable during my high conflict divorce which lasted over 16 months. During that time, James was thoroughly proficient, attentive, and focused on the issues at hand enabling him to deliver amazing court document responses. During the most emotionally driven years of my life, James always remained calm, confident and enlightened with the law enabling my journey through our justice system tolerable. Having to step up and redefend me in a case that started 30 months ago, he hasn’t forgotten a detail. His delivery in court is well prepared and confident. James was a beacon in the storm. I hired James to represent me in my divorce. He helped me through some extremely rough times dealing with my wife who was out to try to bury me with her aggressive attorney. James was calm, rational, and organized and helped keep things reasonable and under control. He often predicted what my wife’s attorney would do and was ready the push back every time. He stayed focused on resolving my case and did his best to keep the cost down whenever possible. He was also glad to explain everything to me along the way and he was always available to answer my questions (including weekends). I was fortunate to find James and have him in my case and highly recommend him if you find yourself needing a competent and skilled attorney in a divorce case.

Leslie is strategic, honest and incredibly hard working. To say that she will stand by your side is an understatement, she will step in front of a team of opposing counsel and defend her client and her client’s rights. My case was a mess, I had gone through 3 lawyers (one who claimed, to be one of the best lawyers in Western Washington and from the largest divorce firm in the city, his representation and work was atrocious) looking for someone who would look deep and hard at the facts and I finally found that in Leslie. Leslie did a wonderful job representing me through the case and trail. The custody for my divorce was a mess where my ex had nearly unlimited funds, a team of lawyers who were constantly stirring up trouble. My ex who was struggling with intense emotional issues that got scary. I didn’t have unlimited funds and only wanted what was fair. I wanted what I earned financially to go to the kids and protection for the them while their father received the treatment. Leslie knows the law, she knows real estate, she knows business valuations, she knows how stock works with vesting schedules, she knows how taxes work in divorce, she knows how to structure an unambiguous custody agreement, so in high conflict situations the parties don’t end up in mediation every six months. She explained the tradeoffs and strategies we had to get through, the process and helped me be clearly informed on what my choices were. With her guidance we made the right decisions as a team. She always took the high road and was results driven, it paid off in SOO many ways. My case was an international case where my husbands’ assets were hidden overseas, and Leslie worked tirelessly to make sure we represented the factual picture. If my ex and his legal team hadn’t refused to be even remotely reasonable, we could have settled without going to trial but that wasn’t the case. We had to go to trial and my goodness, the difference between a good trial attorney like Leslie was clear! She was able to get a substantial award in attorney fees and exactly what I needed. She pushed me to be reasonable and it paid off, in hindsight this was one of the best things that I did in my case and without having so much trust in Leslie the results might not have been the same! It was extremely hard to achieve these results; I never gave up and neither did she. I would recommend her to anyone and would put my name behind her as the best attorney I have ever met (and I work for one of the large tech firms in a legal division). Family court is hard, not having an attorney who is skilled in so many different subjects can result in a less than favorable result. Leslie was laser focused in trial, efficient, she and I were our little two-person team and she was worth well beyond EVERY DOLLAR she earned in representing me. On a personal note, she cared about what was happening to me and was the strength I needed to stand up for my rights and my kids. Actions speak louder than words and having an honorable hard-working attorney who takes the high-road pays off. Leslie never made promises she couldn’t keep but instead explained the situation and how the law looks at things, how courts work. Where all my previous representation promised they would get the harassment to stop and protect us it would take months of me begging for help before they would even draft letters to opposing council to ask for him to stop his behavior. Leslie filed motions to mediate nearly immediately on a time sensitive issue to protect my daughter and action is clearly something she is great at.

James Stensel aptly assisted me with my divorce. He clearly explained the law and my rights and answered all of my questions along the way. He helped deal with an attorney on the other side that prepared sloppy documents that were full of mistakes regarding what we owned and what I was awarded. He cleaned up that attorney’s mess and made sure that my final divorce documents were clear and concise. In addition to the task at hand, he also focused on ensuring that our agreements foreclosed on my ex-spouse’s ability to come back later and try to take more. I was pleased with James’ work on my case and would certainly recommend him to others

James & Becca were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and considerate in helping me understand the process, plead my side of my X wanting additional money for spousal support. Definitely made this easier than I thought it was going to be. I would definitely recommend their services but I hope I never have to again. :-) I mean that in a good way.

From the beginning I felt incredibly lucky to have James Stensel representing me. He answered my initial questions thoroughly, while giving me a realistic picture of the divorce process and the issues I would need to attend to in order to achieve the results I hoped for. Because of the initial consultation, even before I hired him, I was able to make sure I did not make any critical errors early in the process. Not once did I feel like I was led into something I didn't understand or agree to. When I had questions, and I had plenty of them, he was incredibly responsive, very often responding that same day. Throughout the process he treated my money like his own, answering questions thoroughly but succinctly. In short, although the opposing counsel was expensive and aggressive, I was confident I was in good hands.

Having been presented with a proposed Parenting Plan and Child Support Order thirteen years after getting divorced in another country there were many issues to be resolved. I retained James for advice and assistance in the drafting of a counter-proposal with the intent of reaching a settlement. James provided clear counsel, which allowed me to focus on the salient points, and was concise in answering all my questions. In the end, I was very satisfied with how the matter was resolved, and can point to James' contributions as the major factor in achieving this success.
