She helped me determine the wisest course of action for my situation. She was extremely knowledgeable, courteous and personable. I highly recommend her. THANK YOU AMY!!

Amy Jones and the team at The Advocates helped me through a motorcycle accident I was in last year. They have taken care of everything, from getting me compensation for my wrecked bike to wage loss compensation through my insurance company while I recovered. The people there care about their clients on a personal level and will always go the extra mile. Thank you Amy, Ken, Jenn, Anna and everyone that took care of me! You guys are the best.

These are the reasons I would not recommend The Advocates: 1) Their email system is unsecured. I received multiple emails from my lawyer (Amy Jones) that were not meant for me, but rather for other clients, lawyers, and her own staff. I alerted Amy to the fact this was happening after the first email I received, but I continued to receive other people's confidential information (some embarrassing). I have uploaded a screenshot of just one of the more benign examples. FYI, if your case is an "A" case, then you are in good shape. Apparently they label their clients and cases according to how important they are? 2) Amy and staff obtained medical records that I specifically did not consent to (in writing), because they were irrelevant to my case. 3) Halfway through my case, I was transferred to another lawyer in the firm, Anne Vankirk-who was condescending, patronizing, and most of all, arrogant. When I told her I did not want to litigate, and that I rather settle, she became disinterested in my case. She did not return my calls, and when I did reach her, I definitely felt like a burden. The reason I preferred to settle, was that I had zero confidence in her abilities, and did not want to risk ending up more in debt than I already was if we lost. Also, considering the email situation, I did not trust that Geico would not somehow accidentally end up on a confidential email chain between The Advocates and myself. Moreover, it was possible to get a sufficient settlement without litigation. When we did talk after she accepted I wasn't going to risk the litigation route, the only question she asked me, over and over again, was how little I'd settle for- my "bottom line". I did not trust her, so I never her gave her a number. I kept saying "just do your best". She clearly wanted to settle as quickly as possible, and move on. 4) When they sent me the final settlement amount, they were definitely in a hurry to have me agree to it. Once I sign it, that effectively ends the case and they get paid. Before I agreed to sign however, I had to ask them to negotiate my bill down with the Chiropractor, as they did not think to do this themselves. That request got me around $1k more than I would have had I not known this was something to ask for. Any decent lawyer will do this, pro-actively, for a client when they have failed to negotiate a settlement that pays their clients bills, let alone anything extra for "pain and suffering". Neither Amy or Anne, did anything to negotiate a better settlement for me, and hence, did not uphold their fiduciary duty, especially in their discussions with the other side (Geico). That's another story, which there is no room for here. 5) To top it off, I just received a call from a doctor's assistant affording me one last chance to pay a bill before sending me to collections. This bill was supposed to have been paid on my behalf by The Advocates long ago out of the settlement amount. The fact that it wasn't is simply careless. IN SUMMATION: There were multiple fails on the part of this firm, and it's unfortunate that they don't take accountability for their mistakes or offer to remedy them. MY ADVICE: meet with the actual lawyer(s) that will be representing you to see if....a) you like them, because you will be working with them for awhile, and b) to decide whether or not you have confidence in their abilities to represent you, rather than just meeting with the Sales gal that takes you to coffee and then becomes super pushy about having you sign up with their firm for representation. c) Ask what they do specifically to protect your privacy, and confidential information. For example, do they use encryption software for their email system? Most of all, do your research, and meet with multiple lawyers in person rather than making your decision based on online reviews. Good luck!

My experience with The Advocates was amazing. The assistants are the nicest people on the planet and will always be able to talk to clients no matter what the issue. The attorneys will fight for compensation for their clients that not only covers their medical bills, but also covers their pain and suffering. I cannot recommend this place enough. Everyone there treats you like a person in need of help rather than a dollar sign!

Working with The Advocates has been a wonderful experience. The attorneys care about their clients and work hard to advocate for them throughout their case and beyond. Anne is a particularly empathetic and caring attorney there, and always works to provide clients with the resources they need.
