My work with Amy Jones came about because a woman my wife and I have used for some years to care for and watch our kids, but especially our special needs adult son, was hit by a car in the early morning hours as she was on her way to a school where she tutors younger students. I felt strongly that she should not be saddled with the medical expenses let alone the loss of income, though small, that she'd lose because she'd be missing weeks and more likely months of tutoring as well as childcare for us. I also could not really imagine my friend advocating for her interests while dueling it out with the insurance company of the woman who hit her. Through a co-worker where I work, I got Amy's name. From the first phone call and in-person meetings at the care facility, Amy was caring and obviously looking out for my friend's best interests. But she was also totally knowledgeable and confident about what steps to take, what she and her firm could offer, and, yes, the costs. Everything was disclosed and there was no pressure at all on my friend to decide. My friend decided to go with Amy and it all turned out wonderfully. My friend's interests were protected, her costs were tracked and paid, and everything Amy said she and her firm would do, they did. My friend was satisfied with the ultimate settlement and, especially in the case of a retired person whose grasp of the ins and outs of her legal rights and Medicare/Medicaid bureaucracies is kind of limited, Amy made the experience far less stressful for my friend and, as I said, fully protected her interests.
