I highly recommend Stelmakh & Associates to anyone who wants to get a green card! This firm is incredible. I came to the US with my wife and two kids as refugees from Ukraine and started a small home appliance repair business. I didn’t know if I could get a green card. I did not have money to show as an investment into my small business, I was not a tech founder. I came to Katya for help because I heard about her experience and success with immigration cases. Katya and her team put in a lot of effort to organize my EB-2 NIW case, and when the government sent us a Request for Additional Evidence saying that they didn’t think my business had potential, Katya’s team prepared a detailed answer which persuaded the USCIS to approve my case. I recently had the opportunity to engage Stelmakh & Associates for legal representation, and I feel compelled to share my experience to provide insights for others seeking legal assistance. First and foremost, I overheard good reviews from here, which made me consider working with her. However, I must express my disappointment with services provided. Despite initial assurances, I found the level of communication to be lacking. There were prolonged periods without updates on my case, and it was often challenging to get a timely response to my inquiries. This lack of communication left me feeling frustrated and uninformed about the progress of my legal matter. Furthermore, there were instances where I felt that my concerns were not adequately addressed. Katya's Team seemed dismissive and did not take the time to fully understand the nuances of my situation and demonstrated incompetence and a negligent attitude toward my case. This left me feeling unheard and uncertain about the strategy employed. Later I found out that my case was left untouched for several weeks since Katya forgot about my existence and the strategy that we have developed since she had other clients who had higher priorities(according to her emails). I do understand that they have a high volume of cases, however, I do think this is unacceptable. I felt that my case suffered due to the lack of attention and effective communication. Every time I had to remind Kimberly and Katya about our plan and strategy. I didn't receive full engagement in my case. Abel was responsible for drafting my letter and didn't even bother to correct my name from the previous petitioner. Unfortunately, Katya and her team have no sense of time compliance. They can easily mess up your paperwork and overstay all deadlines. As a client, I expected a higher level of engagement and involvement from Stelmakh & Associates. In an effort to provide constructive feedback, I would suggest that Stelmakh & Associates focuses on improving their communication practices. Prompt and regular updates, as well as active listening to clients' concerns, would greatly enhance the overall client experience plus provide clear timeline periods in case if clients in the wait list. While I acknowledge that every case has its challenges, I had higher expectations based on Stelmakh & Associates reputation. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of those expectations. I hired their services a few months ago to apply for an EB-1A. Back then, I had little confidence my petition would go through, let alone in the first attempt without an RFE or anything, but these folks made that happen. They are a small team that gave me due attention and good advice throughout the process. I believe my case was technically complex, owing to my work in AWS, and so I was pleasantly surprised how quickly they caught up with it. I also didn't have to feed them a tonne of information - instead, they gleaned most of the information themselves through their online research. They would also incorporate my feedback or amendments on the documents without any back-and-forth. Communication with them mostly happened through email, something that worked conveniently for me. (This did contribute to a few delays but nothing major.)
