I will not recommend Eric. Eric took my case almost as if he knew that he had a good record with reviews. My reason of why I do not recommend him are the following. Money: every lawyer seems to just want the money to take your case instead of giving you a good assessment of the case. Knowledge: Eric took my money on my case, not knowing the current changes on military retirement and spousal entitlements. Plainly and simply complained to me about fighting for me. His sentiment almost seem as if he was fighting for the ex spouse. He made me do work on the timeline in which I was in the army with changes to my pay, which I did because he seemed incompetent. After I did that work, he still failed at resourcing the information necessary to fight my case. Ultimately, the apparent judgement was lame, Eric did not fight and will always come back to you stating that "it is fair to do". Not " I will fight for you". I would take my chances with anyone else who has better resources in the subject. Eric needs to brush up on the current changes to the subject of Military divorce and retirement entitlements to the spouse. He needs to brush up on the timelines and pay and how it effects the outcomes. He needs to brush up on the verbiage accepted by the DFAS. My opinion, is that fellow soldiers spend alot of time deployed and away from home to fight for the country, at the end you pay out on a spouse that under washington state courts, they have a right to have a relationship if your married and deployed. Hire a lawyer that opposes that view.

I absolutely must, have to recommend Attorney Erik to you or to any one who is dealing with the divorce. I know and understand how painful, stressful, and ugly the divorce process can be, especially when assets and children involved. I was there. Erik has a great work ethic. He cares a great deal about his clients. He has a very calm and caring demeanor and he gets directly to the point. He definitely is the person who not only will walk you through every step, but will also help to take away your stress and lead you to a better and brighter quality life after your dissolution.

Lost & completely devastated. That is exactly how I felt when I decided to file for a divorce in 2009. There are so many horror stories concerning divorce cases and unfortunately mine was no exception. My ex-husband made the process unnecessarily complicated and emotionally exhausting. I was extremely lucky to have had Kimberly April as my attorney. She has extensive legal knowledge of family law matters and has the ability to represent you in a manner that is clear and precise. Additionally, she comforted me through all my tears, listened to all of my concerns and never made me feel as though I was a burden or taking up too much of her time. She always reminded me that I should keep my children’s best interest in mind, not to retaliate out of spite and to remain the adult in the situation. Ten years later, my children are happy and have a healthy relationship with BOTH their parents. We have 50/50 custody and continue to put our children’s needs first (despite our differences). I would highly recommend Kimberly April to represent you no matter your gender. She is more than just an attorney, she is a kind and compassionate person who truly cares for her clients and their families.

When I needed a divorce attorney I really didn't know where to begin. I was in an emotionally abusive marriage with a highly toxic individual whom I was absolutely afraid of. I was scared and anxious of asking for anything through the court system regardless if I knew deep down that I deserved fairness. I consulted with my family attorney, who turned out to be quite judgmental, in my hometown who cemented the fact that even if I was deserved fairness, I likely wouldn't get it. Kimberly was such a warm welcome to my life at the right time. It may seem small but divorcing a woman just after the law passed of same-sex marriages brought me a great deal of anxiety that Kimberly, with her lack of discrimination and open mindedness calmed immediately upon meeting her. She listened to my story and when I defaulted into my groomed behavior of lacking assertiveness, apologizing frequently and putting my abuser's needs ahead of my own she calmly reminded me that while the courts are not perfect, they have the boundaries that I needed. She was knowledgeable about the type of personality I was dealing with and this was one of the greatest reliefs. I never felt like I had to defend myself or share excessively of my suffering to feel heard and understood. I never felt that I had to explain the emotional violence, manipulation and toll that my relationship caused. Kimberly helped me understand what legally appropriate boundaries to have with my abuser as I didn’t know if I should talk to her or not. She helped me not only with the legal-ease and paperwork, but also, in the end, separating my self-worth from the story that I had been told about myself for so long. Even though I knew that each correspondence with her would be itemized; her guidance, gentle affirmations, legal-ease explanations and detailed responses were priceless. She helped me make my own decisions on what I truly wanted that several years later, I have absolutely no regrets about. To this day, I still can't thank Kimberly enough for all that she did for me. While I am sure that my case was just another day in the life for her, she created an environment that anything but that for me.

I was a client in a unique child support case with original settlement terms developed out-of-state. Kimberly demonstrated genuine concern for me as a person and the well-being of my child. She quickly reviewed a voluminous amount of documentation and assembled arguments to represent me. She displayed extraordinary legal scholarship in dealing with the principles involved in the out-of-state settlement. Most importantly, Kimberly leveraged impressive talent and incisiveness for the judge's interpretation of the law to adapt her arguments in court. She was well-prepared and incredibly agile during court proceedings, leading to a dismissal of the motion to modify the original agreement. In dealing with four different attorneys throughout the defense and management of custody and child support agreements, Kimberly has far and away been the most successful attorney I've worked with. I would absolutely retain her services again and would urge anyone else in a family-related case to do the same.

Just had him for my divorce trial. Thanks to Erik I have lost my daughter visitation rights, lost tons of money in the trial, and ended paying him tons of money as well! I think I might have been better without a lawyer!
