I was referred to Annabelle Vang when searching for an attorney to represent me at small claims. My case was different from her typical custody placement, as it was to have my dog returned to me from an ex after his refusal to give me my dog back. Annabelle was patient with all of my questions and concerns, helped calm my nerves, and made sure I was thoroughly prepared for the court date. My dog was awarded back to me, no doubt in large part to Annabelle. I could not have done it without her expertise. I truly appreciate what she has done for me, and I highly recommend working with her.

Highly recommend Attorney Ju who was super patient and quick to respond throughout the whole process. She was very respectful to my opinions and strived hard to protect my interests. She was above and beyond my expectation to provide insightful legal advice and drafting agreements. I really appreciate all the help and considerations that she offered!

Wish I could give them zero stars

I retained this firm for my recent placement and custody case where my ex-wife disputes the current placement and custody arrangement. I never received proactive communication from this office or from any of the attorneys on staff, and they actively worked with opposing counsel against my wishes while charging me over $12,000 with no tangible results. Kowalski didn’t even have the courtesy to not be on a road trip during my initial status conference, but I was still charged full price for inattentive services. He actively sat in silence while opposing counsel was permitted to purport several salacious and false accusations.This firm actively worked with opposing counsel against my wishes, and they allowed opposing counsel to purport completely false and heinous allegations against their client (me) with no action or explanation for their inaction whatsoever. These attorneys appear to be more interested in avoiding conflict with their peers that they work with in the FCS rather than defending their client’s positions that pay for their services. My concerns surrounding my son’s sexual assault by my ex-wife’s family were completely disregarded by this firm throughout the process, and they acquiesced to everything opposing counsel suggested to “lower the temperature“. These attorneys were also habitually rude to me when I would have rare occasions to speak to them, and their communication is sparse, vague, and untimely, which is why I could never fully understand their reasoning to make a decision. If you’re a father trying to fight for your children, seek better counsel.

I’m eternally grateful for Attorneys Cecilia Ju and Emily Wilson, who have both helped tremendously in my case. While I’m impressed with everything they do, I deeply appreciate their deep knowledge of Wisconsin law and dedication to professionalism, which I believe played a huge part in the “wins” I’ve achieved so far. Their hard work has gotten me much better results than I even expected, and I never once felt a single dollar I gave them wasn’t well-deserved. I can’t thank them and their support staff enough.

I cannot put into words how thorough and affective David and his team are. I felt a very real sense of security turning my case over to them. They made me feel truly represented throughout the entire process and thanks to them I can now give my son a normal life. Absolutely unbelievable.

This firm represented my wife and facilitated an extremely contentious divorce riddled with accusations which were all unfounded after an expensive and intrusive family court study. The divorce drug on for nearly 1.5 years. When I expressed legitimate concerns about the dangerousness of my wife's new boyfriend (regarding my wife, my child, and myself), the firm's response was nothing but dismissive and disagreeable to safe child exchanges which would've excluded the dangerous boyfriend from being present. That man went on to murder my wife in May of 2021, before our divorce was finalized, and left me to raise our young daughter without her mother. This firm charged my wife many thousands of dollars and even made a claim against her estate for an additional $4,443.50 after her death. I would advise you to seek a firm with integrity which will provide realistic expectations and seek resolution, rather than one that profits from your anger by facilitating a drawn out, dangerous, and expensive process.

Attorney Emily Wilson is excellent. She is exceedingly knowledgeable, professional and will work tirelessly for the best possible outcome. She is honest about reasonable expectations and is a thorough communicator so that I felt I understood the process each step of the way. Family court issues are scary and stressful, but I was in the best of hands with Emily Wilson and her fantastic staff. Everyone at KWV is friendly, professional and responsive. Laura and Jacob worked closely with Emily on our case and were expert and efficient in their work. I am deeply grateful to have had such a great team at my back during a difficult time. I highly recommend Emily Wilson and this firm.

We worked with Attorney Ju on guardianship of our two grandchildren. She was very knowledgeable, quick to response to our questions, very prepared for the court commissioner and judge appearances. When the legal proceedings didn't go ideally, she had a quick request that resulted in a second proceeding within 3 weeks. Thanks to her work and skills, we were successful in gaining guardianship within 2-3 months. We couldn't have done this without her. We highly recommend Attorney Ju!

Horrible lawyer....Kowalski is rude, not professional, terrible representation, untimely, bad communication, and he tried to get me to settle for half of what I actually got in my divorce by going to a good lawyer....I fired him after our first court date where the commissioner actually had to ask him what he thought because Kowalski just sat there. not speaking ..however, Kowalski was very happy to take $11K for doing nothing. He said I would not likely get more than 50% placement of my child, however, I did not listen to him and I ended up getting 70% placement. I would have given him 0 stars if I could.
