Very unprofessional and unethical lawfirm. I can only speak from my experience with Oliver Bauer, but he uses witnesses that lie on the stand. I made him aware that purjery was committed, and the same witness was used as a credibility witness on another court date.

I would highly recommend choosing another law firm. A few years back I attained Paul Dirkse for some estate issues with a family member. He was helpful in the beginning, but after a while he became “frustrated” with how it was progressing and essentially stopped responding to my phone calls and emails. After not hearing from Paul for over a year, he contacted me this past March to apologize for his poor treatment towards me and said that he wanted to make it up to me. I was talked into coming into his office to meet with him and Atty Herbert Humke to see if there was anything that they could do regarding the estate issues. They both had a positive outlook and gave me renewed hope. At that time, I was told that a letter was going to be sent to the family member, regarding the estate issues, and that I would get a copy. After a few weeks, I contacted Herbert Humke to ask what the status was and at that time he told me a letter was sent at the end of April and that he would get me a copy. A few more weeks go by and still no copy of the letter. I tried contacting Herbert Humke several times over the next several months and did not receive any kind of a response from him or a copy of the letter. Two weeks ago I tried to contact Paul and Herbert by phone and left them messages with no response from either of them. A week ago, I sent an email to both of them and still have not received a response. If you’re looking for a reliable attorney, I would not choose the law firm of “Hopp Neumann Humke LLP”. They lack professionalism and compassion towards their clients. (Posted in 2022) We were looking for a lawyer to help us with some Family Law Services. We came across Paul Dirske. In the beginning, he was helpful and gave us hope, but after a while he became "frustrated" with how the situation was progressing with the other party involved. Without warning, he no longer responded to our phone calls or email messages. This was extremely frustrating, since we had signed, what we thought, was a legally binding contract with his law firm. His lack of professionalism only intensified an already stressful family situation.

Atty. Voss provided legal advise for the winding down of my fathers estate. Overall, he did an outstanding job. It's clear he knows the law very well. He helped simplify the process that could have gotten very complicated. He communicated with family in order to alleviate problems.

Greg was extremely knowledgeable in bankruptcy law. Anytime I had a question he called me back the same day, even if it was a question he probably got a100 times. He is honest, polite, and friendly. Yes, I did use the word honest something you normally don't hear in the same sentence with attorney/lawyer. :)

As first time going through bankruptcy we were not sure what to expect from the process much less who to trust. Greg explained each step and all fees involved before we even hired him. During the process he was always quick answer our calls and kept us informed all along the way. Never made us feel bad just always there to answer our questions. He even sent us all the necessary info needed for what to do after the bankruptcy was finished. From the beginning he was ethical trustworthy and very competent. I would recommend him to anyone needing legal help!

I had my finances and stuff in a mess from being in an accident. greg helped dicuss with me what the best options would be for me filing bankruptcy and helped explain every step of the way. He worked hard with me to get all of my things sorted out and done right. Did a good job of getting the paperwork filed on time. Since dealing with him with the bankruptcy. If I have any questions or small requests for paperwork. He is always happy to help me with what is needed. Very great job.

Amanda Riek did a fantastic job. She explained everything to me and had the case dismissed before the initial hearing. Communication was clear, and explained to me in my terms. I highly recommend.

Stephanie Rock was hands down the best attorney that I've ever had the privilege to hire. From first contact until we won our case, she was fully committed. I never had a doubt that I was in good hands. Ms. Rock went way above and beyond to ensure that my needs were taken care of. She drove a long ways several time to come meet me when I was unable to drive. She made regular calls to me to make sure that we were on the same page and that I was comfortable with what was going on, and took the time to explain things in a kind manner when I was naturally very nervous about everything. I legitimately can't even think of how she, or anyone else, could have done a better job. Then, when it came time for the court appearances, she fought for me. Stephanie made sure that our points were heard and excellently countered everything that the D.A. tried to do against me. If you are serious about your rights and your freedom, you will hire Stephanie M Rock. I am very glad that I did.

Stephanie did an amazing job representing me throughout my whole case, she always kept me in the loop of what is going and and whatever evidence that was sent to her she sent to me. She was always up front and honest of how things were going or looking and when it came time to challenge the accusing party she stepped up, being very knowledgeable and straight forward. I walked out with my charges dropped!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Sheboygan, Wisconsin?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
