My entire life was changed on 9/19/23 thanks to Pershing Square Law Firm. I hired Pershing Square Law Firm to help reverse a denial of benefits from the EDD. At the time of the denial I had just received a horrific medical diagnosis three months after I got married. The timing of the denial of benefits couldn't have come at a worse time. When I contacted Pershing Square Law firm they responded immediately. From that moment on they were highly professional, efficient, empathetic, and available for any questions or concerns I had. I was never thrown into voicemail with no return phone call. The entire case management team was amazing. A judge has the complete power to change your life with one decision. You need a competent attorney to not only prepare you, but fight for you. The attorney assigned to my case (Letty) really prepared me for the hearing beforehand, and was outstanding at the hearing. If not for Letty I would not have won my case. I had a lot at stake. I needed to win my case, and Pershing Square Law Firm did just that. I will be eternally grateful for everything they did for me.

This company helped absolutely ruin me. Do not trust anything anyone says. My lawyer Charlie was the absolute worst. Every time I talked to him I would have to re explain my whole case and every time I was on the phone with him I could tell he was doing something else. Constant background noise and other people talking to him while I’m speaking. Barely listening to me, asking me the same questions every time. I was so embarrassed to be represented by that guy on the day of my appeal. After our first conversation I felt confident that we could win because he said he wouldn’t take the case unless he felt like he could win. Then a day before the appeal, he calls me to go over stuff and I have to re explain my whole case again, then he tells me I actually don’t have a good argument so the best plan was to just tell them I’m poor already and can’t afford my bills. That’s what $2000 got me. Excuses for months and then day of the appeal I’m basically told by my own lawyer that I don’t have a chance. Turns out none of it mattered because Pershing square took so long to actually send in the appeal that the judge decided I must not care about the case since it took my so long to appeal. Do not give these snakes your money. Once they collect their money they will treat you like garbage. I’m praying that this review saves someone. Do not believe a single thing they tell you.

I called for a "free consultation" and was connected to a lawyer (I assume she was a lawyer) who gave me INCORRECT information. This firm is supposed to specialize in California SDI/ EDD cases. The lawyer I spoke with told me my medical certification had to be completed by a California doctor which is why my SDI claim was being disqualified. I can say with certainty (after speaking with many, many state representatives) that this is absolutely NOT the case. She told me to ditch my Nevada physician and to find a doctor in California...get a new medical certification of disability, mail it in, await the new disqualification letter for being past the 49 day deadline...then call her back. LUCKILY, I did not take her advice!!! I called the state back a couple more times and got the issue resolved myself. I can't imagine how different this would have turned out had I trusted Pershing Square Law Firm with my case. I'd have gone through a completely unnecessary appeal process, seen another doctor unnecessarily, and waited FOREVER for my money. How is it that I knew more about this process than the lawyer I spoke with??? My suggestion is to find someone more qualified...
