I had everything ready to file and it’s been 2 month and they still haven’t filed. I would keep looking for another lawyer.

Unresponsive and unhelpful!!

Doan Law Office and Shawn Doan poorly performed during my bankruptcy. I was calling in making payments toward a bankruptcy they were charging me $5000 for. Shawn Doan kept my card number during one of my payments and later in the month took money out of my checking account without authorization. When I notified him he apologized said they would shred my account information and told me it wouldn't happen again. I continued with my on time monthly payments and then 2 months later learned they had obviously not shredded my information and they illegally made two more withdrawals from my acct. both were taken from my checking account and were pending, then one fell off and one went through. Again he apologized. I explained once was a mistake but this seemed fraudulent to me. He told me my payments were so measly did it really matter ($100 a month, not measly for my family as I have cancer and have a huge pile of medical debt, I'm claiming bankruptcy I'm obviously not rich) I proceeded to complain truthfully and appropriately in social media. Shawn Doan said he feared for his income from my posts and told me I was violating the Patriot Act regarding terrorism and sent me a cease and desist. He then cancelled my contract with him, charged me fake hours on an itemized time sheet and kept $4500 of the money we had paid him plus charged me another $500 balance. Needless to say we can't even file bankruptcy now he are completely broke and have absolutely nothing left.

1.0 star rating 4/18/2017 I wish I could give less than 1 star. I have been working with the firm in Escondido. They are awful. I had to make payments because they are charging me more than 5k for my bankruptcy. That in and of itself is ridiculous, but by the time I looked more into it, I had paid a substantial amount to them and couldn't get it back. I did NOT have a payment plan with them, I called each month to make a payment. One day I checked my account and they had made an UNAUTHORIZED payment. I called and asked about it and they said they made a mistake and would credit me back. They never did. I told them to TAKE MY CARD NUMBER OFF FILE and they said they would. I checked my account today and not one but TWO charges that were unauthorized were made on my checking account! I just called and they said it was a mistake and would credit me back. THIS IS FRAUD! THIS SHOULD BE AGAINST THE LAW. I have no payment plan with this company and they virtually stole money because they have my acct number! I called my bank and filed charges, now I have to call any company I have automatic debits with and reset everything up. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I am supposed to trust this company with my bankruptcy? They are absolutely AWFUL. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not go through them.

Although there are MANY bankruptcy attorneys with lower fees, we went with Doan Law primarily due to their promise to aggressively seek damages from any creditor who violates their Cease and Desist Order in violation of Bankruptcy Law. However, DON'T believe their promises - they are HOLLOW! We had one creditor who demanded payment of a debt that had been included in our bankruptcy FIVE TIMES over a FIVE MONTH period of time, AFTER they acknowledged receipt of a Cease and Desist order, but after over a DOZEN calls, letters, and emails, Doan REFUSED to take ANY action at all against this creditor! If you're shopping for a bankruptcy attorney, I recommend that you move on and KEEP LOOKING!

Wil is an excellent attorney that explains to you everything in detail, he is patient and answers all of your questions. Made the process easier, the staff is helpful as well.
