I should have written this review a long time ago. My divorce was in 2013. At that time, Minella worked for San Diego Law Firm. The same law firm my husband and I had hired to draw our living trust years prior to our divorce. Then, for our divorce, my husband hired the same firm and Minella was appointed to represent him. NOT only did Minella and the entire firm failed to recognize their inability to represent him due to conflict of interest, but she was also a complete bully to me. She had the audacity to call my personal cell phone number and tried to intimidate and bully me with law jargon, when clearly, she WAS NOT ALLOWED TO CALL ME, PERIOD. She crossed the line. When I hired my awesome divorce attorney, the first thing she did was to remove Minella from the case. She also told me that I could get her in real trouble by reporting her to the bar association. Another attorney friend of mine told me the same thing. At the time, I simply did not have the energy or the focus to do it. Now, reading the many other negative reviews, I can see not much has changed. Unprofessional in my opinion. CORRECTION: in my original post, I wrote that Minella was working at a law firm in La Mesa. Now their response is that she NEVER worked in La Mesa. I corrected the location to the actual name of the law firm, which was in Lemon Grove, I believe is no longer under that name, as I couldn't find it. Tell her to look under the last name of De Anda. I mentioned the year of my divorce. I'm absolutely sure she knows and remembers where she used to work in that year.

Kathy, Jasmin and Cassidy did a wonderful helping me my cases for move aways with both my children. They listened to my concerns and took everything into consideration. At all times I was kept up to date on the status of my case and what they believed the outcome was going to be. In the end, they were spot on with their views and I now have custody of both my children. I don't know if I could have done it with any other law team, but I know I can always count on Kathy and her staff to be there if I need them.

From the moment my husband and I start the adoption and name change process it was smooth process from beginning to end. This is the law firm you want to handle your case with care and compassion. We couldn't have asked for better representation for our family. Thank for the bottom of our hearts.

Predatory firm that takes advantage of vulnerable people by charging clients in a way that is exploitive. From my experience, I would absolutely never retain this firm to represent me. As a female and mother of two children, I felt that this firm did not have enough time for me, they took advantage of me, and they did not have my best interest at all times all while charging me nearly $12k in only a couple months to appear in court and ask for continuances to push things out. They charged me for things that I didn’t receive and bullied me about it when I confronted them or asked any questions disputing charges. I spoke with Kathy Minella for 15 minutes, was told she would be my attorney and then I was immediately handed off to another attorney (Elizabeth) and their team. They would charge me for work that wouldn’t end up even being used. Paralegals would call me to me, charge me, and then at the end say “I’m not an attorney so I can’t say much more”. It was terrible. It was the WORST experience and it made me feel like this firm is only after $$$. IF YOU WANT TO BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AND BILLED IN A PREDATORY WAY, hire this firm! Be extremely careful before retaining Kathy Minella and her firm. I regret going with this firm on something so sensitive such as divorce and children involved, I would go with another firm.

Kathy and her amazing team have been our GUARDIAN ANGELS for the last 18 months of hell. Kathy especially has had our back from the moment she heard our story. She had 100% confidence that we would win and she was right. She never ever tried to force us into unnecessary litigation, but she made sure we were prepared for whatever came our way. She allowed us to choose our battles while making sure we were fully informed. She is truly a warrior and an excellent defender of truth. Also, we are an LGBTQIA+ family navigating a custody battle which can make things extra difficult but Kathy and her team made sure that we were given respect and dignity throughout the process.
