Omid is a real trial lawyer. He is not afraid to take a case the distance, and that is why he continues to get amazing results. But, more significantly, he is a great person who understands the human condition. You are in good hands with Omid.

Kathy was the first attorney I have had that prioritized me, and more importantly my children’s needs, recognizing that things needed to be executed quickly. I was extremely cautious about any involvement with another attorney, as I was let down and disappointed by several of them prior. On top of dealing with a complicated nightmare divorce (that lasted for years), my finances were nearly depleted. I desperately needed help, but was afraid of the endless amounts of paperwork being filed, thousands of dollars monthly, and the inevitable passage of time with no updates, responses, or sense of urgency, when it was needed most. She was the first attorney that attempted to understand my personal experience, not wasting time on irrelevant details, but truly assessing what was needed and getting it done quickly. She was upfront and honest, and for the first time, I felt I was treated fairly and not grossly overcharged. I felt that every penny was more than well spent. She and her staff were friendly and responsive, answering my calls and e-mails usually the day of (which I found was very rare previously). When something needed to be edited, or revised, she very thoroughly went over it, making sure everything was correct and was quick to make any necessary changes. Kathy had a very human, common sense approach, while at the time, applying her knowledge of the law to my specific case. I am so happy I chose her, and won’t hesitate to contact her again with any future legal needs that may arise. Needless to say, I highly recommend her.

I retained Minella Law Group 8-2021. I wasn’t married but simply needed to legal help with daughter Sierra since her mother finally vacated our toxic relationship. I decided on Minella Law Firm after talking with Kathy Minella and was assured thereafter I would have representation for my Riverside County Restraining Order Hearing. My ex finally left my presence after years of me asking her to leave and relocated to Riverside, CA. Our entire relationship consummated July 2019 in Point Loma San Diego where I resided and my ex moved in with me. Our daughter was born Early March 2021 at Mary Birch Hospital. Kathy sold me on hiring Elizabeth Lefiti (only other lawyer at the firm at that time) but assured me that there would be ample collaboration btw all of the paralegals and attorneys at the firm. I’m still rebuilding from this tragic mistake. First red flag was when paralegal Lery said I could not check the box to seek reimbursement for the costs I’d be incurring in the case as plaintiff despite my actions being needed to simply locate our daughter despite it being a box on the required legal document used to initiate proceedings as plaintiff. Getting Elizabeth to advocate for me was like dragging a heavy sharp rock or performing invasive dental work. She appeared as if she didn’t have time to brush her hair and arrived a couple minutes late to the hearing time but at least in plenty of time before my case was called. While, I can accept and appreciate her advice that some of my evidence demonstrating the erratic behavior of my ex, wasn’t relevant to our custody situation in San Diego, her unwillingness to present more evidence resulted in tragic results as far as ultimately limiting my involvement in our daughter’s life. My Ex made unfounded allegations that I assaulted her, without any pictures, notes from seeking medical care, video, witnesses etc during our relationship in Point Loma and later La Mesa in Riverside County ~ 91 miles from where we lived. Elizabeth suggested I represent myself in Riverside County Court in August 2021. She said that if she decided to make the drive to Riverside she wouldn’t say anything since there were no grounds for a restraining order. Elizabeth didn’t question why there was no evidence and didn’t submit photographic evidence I had provided. My Ex cried during the hearing. Although, a restraining order wasn’t granted, a finding of domestic violence was made against me. It seemed as if she was unaware that such a finding could be made without a restraining order. This finding was the start of exponential life of misery for me. $7500 to my exes lawyer + $14,000 to Minella , plus several thousand in custody and day care arrears . This was I would of been in my best interest to request a 30 day delay in the Riverside County restraining order hearing and I likely would have had a better outcome here in San Diego At the conclusion of the hearing Judge Miller (now assisting Supervising Family Judge in Central San Diego), asked Elizabeth if an October 2021 date CUSTODY & VISITATION &CHILD SUPPORT would work. Elizabeth told Judge Miller she would be unavailable that date due to vacation, however she took the October Court Date for me explaining another attorney (presumably Kathy Minella since she was the only other lawyer) would cover for her vacation and appear virtually for my hearing date. As it got to be 1-2 weeks before my court date, I requested to speak with Kathy Minella to update her on my family issues etc since Elizabeth wouldn’t be representing me. I was then informed Kathy Minella was gone on maternity leave (presumably she would have been aware of this & Elizabeth’s vacation schedule when I retained their firm) and unavailable. The firm actually tried to connect me to another lawyer Dawn Luchessi via email but then that didn’t pan out. (presumably they tried contracting with her as a temp). My own law firm Manilla had to ask for a continuance of our lawsuit because no one could show up virtually in court on the date they said would.

I had the pleasure of working with Omid and his team, and I cannot recommend their services enough. From start to finish, they were professional, knowledgeable, and attentive. They truly made a difficult experience much easier to navigate for me. Kelly took the time to listen to my case and my needs, which put me at ease and helped me feel like I was in good hands. They were always available to answer any questions I had and kept me updated on the progress of my case. It was clear to me that they had my best interests at heart and were willing to go above and beyond to ensure that I was fairly compensated for my injuries and losses. They are compassionate, skilled, and dedicated to getting their clients the justice they deserve. Exceptional service!

When I made the decision to divorce my husband of twenty-four years, I was terrified. In this marriage, I fulfilled a traditional role; I married at 18, and was a stay-at-home mom, raising our four children. My husband on the other hand, is college educated with an Engineering degree, and was able to focus on advancing in his career. Throughout the marriage, my husband was overly controlling, financially and emotionally abusive, as well as emotionally neglectful. The emotional neglect had especially taken a toll on our four children, and this is when I made the decision to start the divorce process. I interviewed six attorneys, but in the end chose Kathy. She was a very attentive listener, as well as empathetic to not only my situation, but that of my children too. I liked that she was straightforward with me on our initial call and gave me realistic expectations. I especially appreciated how well versed she was on the law. Divorce is a very scary process, and more so when dealing with a high conflict personality such as that of my husband. Kathy has helped me win regarding practically every issue we’ve had to go to court on. Early on, when my husband learned of my decision to divorce him, he retaliated against me and our children. When I told Kathy the emotional distress he was causing, especially on the children, she quickly came to our aide. In a week, she served my husband a temporary restraining order, as well as an additional order asking him to vacate the family home. When my husband would not provide regular financial support for the children and myself, Kathy requested the court grant me a wage garnishment— and it was approved. Thanks to her, my husband was also ordered to give me access to a physical credit card. Financial autonomy was something I never thought was achievable considering the severity of abuse in our relationship. As the divorce process continued, the temporary restraining order was about to expire; Kathy explained that I had enough evidence to ask for a Domestic Violence Restraining Order. At first, I was confused because my partner never hit me. Then, Kathy explained coercive control and how my situation fit the description of this part of the domestic violence umbrella. She did an outstanding job representing me during that trial and the court sided with me. Although my case is still outgoing, I recognize the preparation and organization Kathy and her team (Cassidy De Vito, Jasmin Dimson) have put into my case in order to attain these favorable results, which again, I never really thought would be granted. I am very appreciative to her and her team for being compassionate, supportive, understanding, and helping me win on almost every issue we’ve attended court for. As unfortunate as the circumstances are, Kathy has proven herself to be an outstanding lawyer.

I can’t say enough positive things about the Minella Law Group!!! Kathy and her team are compassionate, smart, informative, and show a true interest in you and your case! Kathy doesn’t back down from a challenge, which was incredibly encouraging to me! The team fought hard to make sure the outcome of my case was fair and something I agreed with and could happily live with. I appreciate them so very much! Thank you, Kathy, Jasmine, and Cassidy for holding my hand and getting me through one of the hardest times of my life! I hope I NEVER need y’all again, but if I find that I need an attorney, I will not hesitate to call you again because I know that I’ll be in the BEST possible hands with you! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
