I received a correspondence from Caine and Weiner regarding a Progressive bill. I immediately called and notified them that the account was fraudulent. I have notified the FTC, the Credit Bureaus, put a freeze and a fraud alert on my account, and still this company has yet to remove this derogatory mark from my accounts. My next move is to alert the California Attorney General. I refuse to be a victim twice, once of someone using my information fraudulently and second, of this company taking advantage of people because they believe we don't have options. We definitely do.

Steven S. Helped us and explained soooo much on everything. Gave us a lot of pointers on what will happen, he was very knowledgeable. It's scary paying but that's Normal. In 60 days we will leave an additional review on our credit.

I called Caine & Weiner on October 10, 2023, at 1:35 P.M. Pacific Time (PT). I spoke to Ms. Sherea Calhoun. She kept interrupting after I asked her not to. She then transferred to a manager/supervisor when I didn’t ask to be transferred. I told her not to, however, she transferred anyway. She placed the call on hold while I was still speaking. Her conduct was inappropriate and unprofessional.
I then spoke to Clay who identified as the manager. I asked for the company’s email address. When I asked him to repeat the email to make sure I have it correct, he refused. Clay was also pugnacious. These employees are egregious and it reflects poorly upon Caine & Weiner.

After reviewing other people's experiences, I see that I am not the only one. I have a charge on my credit in collections from 2018... I tried multiple times to resolve it with no resolution. I'm starting to think i should just let it fall off after the 7 years. I'm just trying to clean up my credit at the moment. This is so frustrating.

I just received a phone call from them. The woman left a very short voicemail. Before calling them back I wanted to find out who was calling and perhaps why. My intention of writing this review is to let you all know that you do face have rights. If you owe the debt, ask them for a pay for delete. Meaning you will pay them as long as you can have the debt removed from your credit report. They may make up some excuse but you are in control of your account. They just want their money. Then you need to write them a check or money order and on the back of the check in the body of the check under the signature line you will write out “by endorsing this check, you agree that my account with your company is paid in full and will be completely removed immediately from all 3 major credit bureaus. You also agree to cease further communication”: if they send your check back or refuse to delete your account then contact the Federal Trade Commission and report them immediately and it will be taken care if. You can also tell them you will be reaching out to the FTA. It’s extremely rare for a company to return payment as they are seeking monetary compensation to begin with.
I hope that you found some value in my lengthy explanation and I sure hope it helps you should the need ever arise again with a debt collector.

This must be a very poor collection agency, if they won't even call the owner of the debt to collect it. They just contacted me to leave a message to let my family member know they have a debt with them. I'm supposed to give the family member the message. News flash! I'm not a creditor it is not my job to collect your debt for you. I asked repeatedly who it was there was all sorts of background noise and feedback and the caller mumbled their name so I couldn't understand them. They then say "will you leave a message" I say "who is this? And what is your call regarding.?" I'm not gonna make a promise if you can't tell me what this is about. Absolutely unprofessional. If this is how they are with people they are not collecting debts from, then how are they to those they are? As for the message we have 2 people with that name in this family. Lord.

I had a brief stint at Caine and Weiner, lasting less than 30 days, and my experience left me with mixed feelings. One of the major reasons for my departure was the lack of accountability and honesty displayed by my supervisor. The management seemed to prioritize asserting authority rather than providing true leadership, which hindered a positive work environment.
One glaring issue I observed was the apparent disregard for integrity and the courage to speak the truth. It's quite disheartening to be in a workplace that doesn't value these qualities. The longevity of the management team's tenure at the company didn't necessarily translate to effective leadership skills, and this was evident in their actions.
On the positive side, the training provided was thorough and well-prepared, setting a strong foundation for the job. However, this positive aspect was overshadowed by the need for a more robust focus on leadership development. I found myself unable to compromise my principles and work within an environment that didn't align with my values.
In conclusion, Caine and Weiner has potential, but it's crucial for them to address their leadership shortcomings. Without a shift towards valuing integrity, fostering honest communication, and investing in leadership training, the company might struggle to retain employees who prioritize these essential qualities.

Fraudulent sketchy corporation. Tried to send my ESL grandma a debt collection notice for a supposed Cruise in 2021. She had lung cancer and was definitely NOT on a cruise in the middle of COVID.
Got transferred to three different representatives, and when I started getting suspicious, they tried to act like I'm being belligerent by noting "You're refusing to provide any information and cooperate so we're going to write that down" I demanded their license number, and the woman said she doesn't know that.
100000% sketchy scammers

CAINE & WEINER(why even name your company "weiner" lmao) is knowingly and willfully violating federally protected consumers(a natural person) everyday. Before they can even report to the consumer agencies (credit "bureaus") they must first validate the alleged debt with you(15 USC 1692g). First of all they purchase your debt for pennies on the dollar, in actuality we should be thanking them for purchasing the alleged debt. Second, a charge-off is consider income, so the original creditor and debt collector are to provide you with a 1099c form. Study Fair Debt Collection Practice Act and Fair Credit Reporting Act and you will have the knowledge and tools to fight these tyrannical, low-level scum, parasitic corporations. ALL DEBT IS PREPAID due to HJR-192 public law 73-10. If you look up 18 USC 8, it will explain the obligations of the United States(which is a corporation not a country - 28 USC 3002(15)) Peace, love, and light gods and goddeses. KNOW THYSELF

There’s been a payment from Progressive placed on my credit and I left them with a $0 balance. After reading these reviews I am not going to pay what they are saying I owe even though it’s a small amount of money. It seems like they’re ripping people off.
