I sought the counsel of Carlos Salinas for an order of protection from my husband after a very terrifying situation. Carlos was a calming and confident presence during very difficult court proceedings. From the instant I began working with Carlos, it was apparent that he was beyond knowledgeable and experienced with not only family law, but domestic violence and orders of protection as well. I hired Carlos Salinas to handle my divorce last year. He was knowledgeable, reliable and always had my back. We managed to avoid going to court and I felt the way things were settled was very fair.
Unfortunately, months later and a few weeks into the COVID-19 pandemic, a loose end popped up that was out of our control. What to say about Goldie... She is a pushy, strong, fights for your side and will not stop. She is a powerhouse. There is nothing that my now ex wife wouldn't do to try extort money from me and being dishonest with the judge was also a normal thing for her to do along with her lawyer who also did not tell the truth. In the end, Goldie was great and got me divorced and also ended the crazy with my ex. I am free no matter how much my ex wanted to be married to our divorce to punish me. I am so thankful for Goldie as she always set me straight and was my rock.

Goldie always listened to me. I was divorcing my husband and we had 2 young kids together. No matter what the other side did, Goldie would fight the fight for me. She would say things to the judge that I could not believe she remembered I told her. She knew all the details. The other side would hire and fire lawyers. Each lawyer was worse and they would just lie to the judge to try and get something. Goldie always prevailed. She won the war for me and I am now free and I have sole legal and sole physical custody of our kids. She is truly a miracle worker. I love you Goldie.

Doug was fantastic, helping my family, specifically my daughter and son in law, finalize some legal documents. Their previous lawyer had essentially flaked out on them and they had been waiting 6+ months to complete the process. I was served with custody paperwork regarding my child and I was at a complete loss, I was very emotional regarding this case and I am so grateful to have found Eric to represent me. Mr. Carty represented me in a criminal case. During our initial meeting he took the time to listen, was understanding, compassionate, and explained the process. I relied on his analytical skills and judgement to guide me through an extremely emotionally trying experience.

I had contacted dozens of lawyers to help me with my (contested adoption) case, they all had turned me down until I found Ryan Kuhn. From the very beginning you could tell Ryan and his assistant Jen are both very passionate and knowledgeable about what they do. One of the experts in our case said to me, "you either find a good lawyer who is a bad person, or a bad lawyer who is a good person, Ryan is the rare exception in that he is both." This is sooo true. Ryan and his assistant, Jen, were very understanding and compassionate but yet professional and reasonable as they helped me file for divorce from my husband of 30 plus years. One of the first things Ryan said to me was… “ I am more expensive than a counselor, so if you want to chat about things not directly pertaining to the case, I will steer you back on track….but I recommend it is healthy to go seek out a counselor to help you emotionally get through the divorce.” Right from the start he was very conscious of a budget and kept things moving that were important to the case. He reminded me that somethings could cost more in attorney fees than were worth proving. Where I wanted to achieve something based on the principle of it, he steered me back to the cost that would be sacrificed to get it.
The divorce was complicated by the fact that I had put my career on hold to be a stay-home-mom to several children, allowing my husband to advance his career with the federal government and have all the perks related to early retirement eligibility, federal employee health benefits (FEHB), a government pension and a generous government matching Thrift Savings Plan (TSP). Although I had the same college degrees, education level, previous federal employment, and had recently picked up non-federal employment, I did not have the number of years to be eligible similar benefits. I counted on Ryan to weed through the confusing government rules and regulations pertaining to government “Spouse Equity,” “Survivor Spouse Annuity,” and “Federal Employees Health Benefits.” When my husband was adamant that he did not want to provide for the Survivor Spouse Annuity, Ryan was able to appeal to him and his attorney to have it provided because of the long marriage. Whatever Ryan did not know, he found out. He also has access to professional paralegals (at rates less than his) who are experts at dividing government retirement and TSP accounts based on individual cases. Ryan leveraged their information and guidance in preparing the court orders for the retirement division and the TSP division. Ryan is highly knowledgeable of the government retirement-type issues and an expert in the preparation of court orders specific to government retirement plans.
Although there were no longer any minor children, my case was further complicated by many other things, to include stock being held for an elderly parent with the intention that it would be returned to her if needed for her health care, multiple bank accounts, brokerage accounts, credit cards, student loans for a couple children, pages of personal belongings, hotel points, airline points, hidden cash, hidden trips, hidden debt, an adult child still in college-tuition, a house mortgage, a timeshare, multiple cars, some of which belonged to children, a dog, healthcare, dental and vision for adult children under the age 26, and the desire to be able to obtain federal healthcare when needed for myself.
One of the best ways to describe Ryan is that he has the mind of a chess player. He was always thinking one move ahead, and the topic of alimony comes to mind here (pros and cons)…. You’ll have to ask him.
Did the divorce cost more than expected? … Absolutely! But I am the reason for this. I can be wordy (this is probably the longest review on his page) and my emails long, but Ryan patiently answered every question, reminding me along the way to trust him, and that my wordiness and multiple questions would cost me more. I did not care because he was providing me with information which gave me peace of mind. He also obtained something that three other attorneys told me could not be done (ask him!). He is excellent, worth every penny.
Lastly, it is not in my nature to write reviews. I have made this one exception because Ryan and his assistant, Jen, deserve kudos for a job well done. A sincere Thank You Ryan for accomplishing the near impossible. May your practice thrive!

Mike made sure that I did not feel like one of his many clients. I was preparing for my upcoming divorce and custody trial when my attorney fell sick and could not represent me anymore. Of course, I was frantic and had to find an attorney to learn about my case ASAP. Luckily, a friend recommended Mike Troy and I am glad she did. Mike was able to pick up my case as if he had been my attorney the whole time. He made me feel calm. After meeting him I did not doubt that he could handle my case. He advocated for me and I was able to obtain what I wanted, which was primary physical custody of my twin daughters and legal custody with me as an ultimate decision maker. Wow...where do I even begin....Jessica Laleh has been nothing but a blessing! I was down and out on my luck, lost ,scared and confused. I went through a really bad divorce years ago which caused me to lose everything and most importantly custody of my son...I had no direction of what to do or what attorney to even trust at this point after many failed attempts to get my son back. My wife and I could not be happier and are truly grateful for the services provided by Mr. Joseph Wahl and his staff Lisa and Sophie. We live in Texas and were in immediate need of legal representation for our visitation petition case in the state of Delaware. I only have the highest of praise and gratitude for Corey McKenna. He was assigned to my son’s case as a public defender, and went above and beyond what we expected. The issues all evolved from my son’s long-time addictions. Corey worked hard with the district attorney’s office to get my son into a long-term rehab. Corey followed his case, kept in touch with me and my son throughout his three-month incarceration and six-month rehab. My son graduated from rehab after six months, a changed person. My brother and I were contemplating dividing our inherited farm into two parcels, rather than being owners in common. We were introduced to Buchheit Law by our previous lawyer who had retired. Andrea Morgan saved me. Divorce (especialy with children) Is a difficult time for anyone that goes through this process. Andrea was my second attorney on my case. My case should have been a landslide my direction after six or eight weeks with another attorney things were not going my direction like the should have been, I luckly saw the writing on the wall. When we were looking for an ethical attorney to represent our son, it was a daunting task. We interviewed many attorneys, but after meeting and speaking with Matthew Izzi, I knew that he was the one to represent our son's defense. I felt he would approach his defense with integrity and respect for our son, and he did. Matthew doesn't fall into believing false accusations of articles written, community pressures and opposing counsel stacked charges, he develops his defense based on facts, based on the truth for his client, our son. He assured our son of his defense plan and collaborated with our son on the best way to develop his defense strategy. Matthew's demeaner in the courtroom is professional, no matter how much opposing counsel tries to pull his strings, he remains calm and forthright. He addressed injustices that were made against our son and explained many facts, of the truth, that sheds a bright light for the jury to see and that light doesn't go out, for that is what the truth does, it shines bright. Matthew gave us hope, something the DA tried to destroy. The Shasta legal system is a process of delays, unnecessary jail time --for our son, questionable decisions made by appointed judges, unfair bail , this is 'not' a justice system in our point of view. This was frustrating for us and for our son. We experienced many injustices during my son's trial by opposing counsel and Shasta Sheriff dept. So you need a good lawyer when you are in Shasta's court system. If you are looking for a good defense lawyer consider Matthew, he cares for his client's well being, despite the uphill battle he faces when dealing with the opposing counsel's unprofessional behaviors, different judges and Shasta Sherriff/Probation dept., etc.. One more comment, if you read anything written via yelp, social media or in the newspaper, that is negative about Matthew's character, by certain people in Shasta county, don't believe them, they can't deal with Matthew being so good at his job and believing in our son's account regarding what really happened. God knows the truth and the yappers negativity against my son, will be dealt with by God.
When stacked charges are brought up against your loved one, you need an attorney who will represent your loved one, in an aggressive, professional, intelligent and smart manner. The highlight is-- you need Matthew who will believe in you and will work diligently to prove your loved one's innocence. Matthew helped me understand an area, that I wasn't familiar with, the legal system, this also helped our son fight the system for his innocence and to try to get through the difficult situation. Matthew's staff is friendly, listened to me through many phone calls regarding my frustration with the Court process, the DA and Sherriff dept. So consider Matthew for your defense, this will be the most important decision of your loved one's life.
