I hired McKinney and Associates for a very long and hard divorce. I live out of state so all my contact was done over the phone of by email. But Brett was an amazing lawyer. He fought long and hard for me and we won everything I asked for. Now I can start my life as a single mother of 5 away from all the issues in Colorado. Brett was very easy to work with and explained everything to me in a way I could understand. I highly recommend Brett at McKinney and Associates.

They where a prayer answered! From day one the whole staff was supportive. They are one step above the rest. If you are looking for Family Law no need to look any further. Our family is now whole. We received full custody of our awesome grandson!

Brett has been amazing in helping us through a DHS issue with a mother who is an active drug user. Having to go to Canon City for proceedings made it difficult to retain an attorney. Brett really cares about the future of these children and has been so amazing in helping their father navigate at very difficult and situation. The end goal is keeping these kids safe and giving them a great future. McKinny & Associates (specifically Brett Chalmers) really understands this and has fought hard to keep these kids safe!!

I would not recommend this law firm one bit. Hired one of their lawyers and half way through our case he left the law firm. Paid 3000 out to him for him to up and leave. Which left us to hire another attorney with their firm and pay a new retainer, along with new fees for this new attorney to do his readings on our case. Both attorneys were never available when we needed them and being military and deployable they never were a willing to work with me. Never let us know anything on our case, did a half ass job on every occasion and didn't fight for us. Seemed like they just wanted to get the case finished as quickly as possible and get their money. Having to go back to court to fix the problems that they caused, I would most definitely not recommend McKinney and Associates to anyone.

After being threatened with the sheriff showing up at my door to arrest me if I don't pay up, I contacted attorney McKinney and was told that the company was in violation of the judge's ruling. He told me my rights and gave me several options to deal with the situation. Now I'm not living in fear of being arrested.

I hired in 2005 after dealing with two disastrous lawyers in my child custody case. The first did nothing and over a year after my divorce was final I still didn't have a parenting plan. The second did absolutely nothing worthy of report, but sure did charge me like he did. $5000 later absolutely nothing had been done on my case except, my retainer being run through for every nickel and dime thing he "did". Needless to say, when I arrived at Nathan's office I was very frustrated and tired of dealing with lawyers. However, Nathan helped me, in my very first meeting, regain my trust in lawyers, or at least him. With Nathan's help I was able to not only get a parenting plan set in place that allowed me to move out of the state, with my current husband who was military at the time, he also helped me to keep custody of my children. He did so in a knowledgeable and speedy manner. Within just a few short months I had my parenting plan, that for three years prior, I had been trying to get. I would recommend Nathan to anyone! Infact, I liked his work so much, when I had cause to return to court over a matter with my ex about his not returning my children after his summer visitation, I returned to Nathan's firm to seek help.
