Based on my experience with Brant, he's reliable, knowledgeable, hard-working, and has a TON OF INDUSTRY RECOGNITION! I'm not sure how Brant scored low on industry recognition on Veevo's rating system, since he's been in the field for over 30 years. I was wrongfully terminated from a local government position. Because it was government it was very complex. After consulting with Mr. David Burkhalter and his son Alex they took my case. They worked together like hand in glove. They kept me updated and aware of things that would be upcoming. I was never “caught of guard” in the process of mandatory wait times or replies from the defendants. Alex Burkhalter earned my respect and confidence from the very beginning. My case was a wrongful termination against a municipality, which involved uncommon, technical environmental concepts. Just to understand the facts of this situation, the entire staff had to learn what must have seemed like a new language. Not only did they learn the environmental concepts and the proper, technical way to speak them, they became proficient in the specific details.
Although I was certainly pleased in his understanding and adaptation to the language of my case, it wasn’t his proficiency in the details of this situation that impressed me the most. Alex Burkhalter is the epitome of an attorney and a gentleman. His determination to do the highest quality work for his clients is undeniable. Chris became my lawyer for a FINRA Arbitration case in 2008. He listened to my complaint, filed notice soon after and engaged an expert witness. We discussed mediation, found it to be agreeable and approached the defendant who at first agreed and at the last minute reneged. At all times Chris kept me informed of the process, costs and developments.
In early 2009, the Arbitration Hearing took place near my home. Chris came down a full day early, met with me and my wife, discussed the case in detail, and gave appropriate advice. The hearing went on for four days and was difficult. Chris's Expert Witness was perfect. At all times Chris was knowable and demanding of the defendant.
As a result, the decision was in my favor with a nice financial award and the defendant required to pay all hearing costs. I felt vindicated and pleased that the losses I had suffered were replaced.
I give all the credit to Chris Jon Gray for the happy results. I would hire him again.

We sought legal advice from Mr Hartley when our mother unexpectedly fell and had to be placed into a skilled nursing facility. When it became apparent that she would be unable physically to return to her home, we had to quickly determine our options for paying for her long term care. I have no experience with Barnett outside what I witnessed during my fathers trial in which he was accused of very haineous allegations. I was the victim of identity theft. Someone forged my signature on loan documents. The identity thief stopped making payments on the loan shortly after the account was opened. The fraudulent loan accounts appeared on my credit reports. As a result, I could not refinance my home and credit limits on my existing accounts were being reduced. I sent numerous letters to the credit reporting agencies and the banks with limited success. I was ultimately forced to file a federal lawsuit to protect my rights, my credit and my good name. I was able to get the fraudulent accounts removed from my credit reports and settled my case before trial. I signed separate settlement agreements with each named defendant. The terms and amounts of each settlement agreement are confidential.
John helped me through the entire process. He also took my case on a contingency fee basis. I did not have to pay any money out-of-pocket.
John was a beacon of light in a very dark time of not knowing and I would recommend him and use him again if needed.

An identity thief stole my identity and used my name and credit to purchase a house that belonged to his ex-wife. The identity thief only made a few payments on the property and let it go into foreclosure. The foreclosure appeared on my credit report as well as a homeowners association judgment for past due HOA fees related to the property. Needless to say, my credit scores were low and obtaining credit was nearly impossible. I did not know where to turn until I was referred to John Bazaz. He was able to walk me through the entire process. He was able to get the judgment vacated in state court. He then helped me dispute the foreclosure and judgment that still appeared on my credit reports. When the credit reporting agencies and the bank refused to delete the inaccurate accounts, he filed a federal lawsuit against them. John was able to get the foreclosure and judgment accounts removed from my credit reports. We settled with each defendant separately before trial. The terms and amounts are confidential. As an added bonus, John took my federal case on a contingency fee basis. He was paid only after I was paid. I strongly encourage you to contact John if you are the victim of identity theft.

I purchased a car from a Northern VA dealer. During discussions w/the sales personnel two issues came up that they said would result in price adjustments. When presented w/the sales document which was filled out completely by the dealer's accountant I thought the final amount reflected what the dealer's sales personnel had agreed. I paid the bottom line amount requested by the dealer.
Three weeks later I received a telcon from the dealer's accountant stating that they had made a mistake and wanted more money to compensate for their mistake. I said no, and then wrote an email stating what I saw, as my position including compensation that I believed their sales personnel had agree as compensation. The dealers response was to demand payment. I responded w/another email.
After 3 months of this type of exchanges I called a friend and asked for a recommendation of an attorney in the Winston Salem area and was given Jeremy Foltz's name who I then contacted.
Then two days later I received a letter from the Lawyer representing the car dealer. I forwarded the letter to Jeremy who in a lawyer to lawyer exchange was able to settle on, what I considered to be, a fair and equatable solution.
This solution would not have occurred without the intervention of Jeremy.
Would I hire him again--Absolutely!

Lawyers are like doctors, truly. We all hope that we never need one; but if we do, we want, and need, the absolute best. In respect to the absolute best, I can say that I found that in Brendan. As a person of color (more specifically a black male), I unfortunately encountered extreme racial aggression and discrimination on my job. As you might imagine, that alone brought with it great stress. Then, add having to deal with the legalities and legal battles that come along with that. Those two things combined are enough to drive anyone crazy, and they nearly did me. What made my legal journey different was Brendan. As first time going through bankruptcy we were not sure what to expect from the process much less who to trust. Greg explained each step and all fees involved before we even hired him.
