New laws in MI allow many felony convictions to be expunged. While you can try to do this yourself, I highly recommend Mr. LaBre to do this process for you. It's well worth me money as it can change your life. He took care of everything for me.

Patrick Wilson was introduced to me by the senior partner of the latest law firm that I had hired. I was informed that Pat is the DUI specialist in the firm and he would be taking the lead on my case. At this point I had already hired two other criminal defense attorneys and spent 3 years in county jail on a no-bond pretrial detention order. Pat came to see me at the county jail and I explained to him my situation. Right away he asked me a series of questions that the other attorneys never did. His experience in his profession and criminal defense cases shined through right away. During our consultations, he provided a lot of insight about my case. Unknown information is the greatest contributor to fear. Pat very quickly earned my trust because he was honest, hardworking, and unique. He did not make promises or give me unrealistic expectations and was not afraid to deeply dissect situations and entertain the possible outcomes. He made me feel less afraid in the toughest moment in my life because he gave me hard facts and not theories. I received more useful information through his consultations than I did with my other paid attorneys. The discussions were clear and the proposed outcomes were realistic. Which in turn created a bond between Pat and myself that soon turned into a friendship. The best thing about Pat is that he is the type of attorney I could trust— both in character and skill sets. At this point Pat and my legal team came in for a conference as usual. We went over depositions, expert witness preparations, and strategies. After an exhausting couple hours, I was informed that Pat had far exceeded the rate of growth that the firm could sustain and would be opening his own practice. As you can imagine, my heart dropped here. I am in jail and the shooting star of an attorney that was handling my case was leaving. Pat did not turn away from “difficult” and “uncomfortable” situations; he was able to land an unheard deal for me. Every dollar spent on hiring Pat was more than worth it. I really got lucky the day I needed an attorney for a horrible mistake I had made. I was lucky that the first two attorneys I called from the internet were too busy for my call, because Scot was my third call that day and I thank God for that. Most of my life I have never been in trouble, and when trouble found me I was scared. I did know what to do or what was going to happen. Scot, from the moment I called, made me feel like I could breathe. He reassured me that being my first offense I most likely would not see jail time. Scot always answered every phone call, text and or email in a very timely fashion. He got my sentence reduced to what I know was the lowest he possibly could and I felt like he genuinely cared about my situation. I hope I never have to call him again, but if I knew anyone who needed help, I would definitely recommend him to anyone I knew.

A friend referred Scot to me when I was looking for an attorney for my daughter. She had been charged with a serious drug offense. Scot worked out a deal with the D.A. that she could do six months in a rehab and then six months in jail. This was a great relief after hearing that their first offer was prison time. Unfortunately, my daughter didn’t stay in rehab and left and was charged with other serious drug offenses. She exacerbated the situation by skipping court dates several times. Scot was there for all of the court dates, and patiently continued to competently defend her with a district attorney who was becoming more and more impatient with my daughter’s shenanigans. Finally, she faced her day in court, and Scot worked out an amazing resolution. Despite the fact that she had faced the possibility of years in prison for her first case, the cases were combined and he managed to work out a deal where she served several months in jail. I highly recommend Scot if you are looking for a competent, caring and communicative attorney!

Alex Merritt has recent experience as an ADA in Dekalb County, so he knows how that system works and what point of view an ADA for Dekalb County will have. He is persistent and persuasive. He got all my charges dropped without a hearing within a month of hiring him, when my previous attorney did not get that done in the 3 months I had him. He also will not make promises he cannot keep, unlike many criminal defense attorneys.

Matt Walker represented me for 3 misdemeanor DV charges in Jefferson County. He heard my case and told me not to take the plea deal. With his help my case was Dismissed before trial.
Matt was there to walk me through every step. If I needed him he was always just a text away and would call as soon as he was available.
He suggested to meet as the trial got closer, not to go over anything but to calm my nerves as this was my first time in any sort of trouble.
He never made me feel rushed and listened to all concerns. He is also a huge LGBTQ advocate which for my case was essential.

I called Matt about a dispute with my neighbor who had mailed me a letter threatening legl action. Matt met me for coffee the same day I called him. When we met, he reviewed my letter and other documentation. Then he actually called the neighbor on my behalf, while I sat there, and worked everything out. It was amazing. Upon contacting Mr. James Pokorny's office, having used him when I was dealing with a juvenile violation, he was responsive and helped me resolve the case with a strong offer from the DA. Well, 10+ years later I received a Drunk in Public, and Mr. Pokorny and his associate Michele Gardenier again were there to help get me out of the situation. Pokorny referred me to one of his junior lawyers, Mr. Erik Bruner, who was absolutely fabulous.
Mr. Bruner had a close and respectful relationship with the City Attorney, making her more amenable to negotiation given the mutual respect. I had a pretty ugly police report, resulting from my attitude towards the officers which included slipping my (thin) wrists from the handcuffs twice, making rude/obnoxious comments, kicking and screaming, the whole gamut. Mr. Bruner managed to get me out of the situation largely scott free. He was able to get the DA to agree to entirely dismiss the case, as if nothing had ever occurred, provided I simply attend a few AA or NA meetings over a pre-specified time period. Very happy with this result. Had previously considered another attorney who acted as if the case would be impossible to get a reasonable deal, so I was shocked when Mr. Bruner was able to so quickly negotiate such an agreeable conclusion, after which my entire case disappears! I was shocked he was able to get such an attractive offer, in short time. GREAT ATTORNEYS, BOTH ERIK AND JAMES POKORNY!
ALSO, GREAT ASSOCIATE IN MICHELE GARDENIER, WHO WORKS FOR MR. POKORNY AND MR. BRUNER AND HANDLES MOST (IF NOT ALL) OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE ASPECTS OF THE CASE; SHE IS REALLY ON TOP IT!
My opinions here are particularly useful to someone evaluating a prospective attorney, as I had initially used a different attorney who failed to attend several required appearances; acted as if the case was impossible to overcome without harsh penalties; and clearly ran a lackluster operation from an administrative standpoint, hence the failed appearances discussed in the foregoing. I found it to be a huge relief once I had switched to Pokorny's offices and was working with Michele Gardenier, Erik Bruner and James Pokorny.
GREAT FIRM, 100% RECOMMENDED.

At the age of 22, I was sentenced to 50 yrs. to Life. I felt hopeless, sad, depressed and not wanting to think about freedom anymore. It was a miracle when I met Cori. I highly recommend Constantine Zhukovsky as one of the best family law attorneys in the San Francisco Bay Area. I had a very long, painful, and ugly divorce with my abusive ex with a Restraining order and a minor child on my hands. At first, I had a different attorney and felt so confused and helpless, and the divorce proceedings were going south. When I met Constantine he spent hours explaining my rights, laws, and proceedings. The most important part, he laid out the strategies for my case and let me think about it before I made any decision. From the start, I got the support and clarity I needed. I knew what would happen next, and what I should expect from each hearing. It was through divorce, but I am very happy I had Constantine on my side. I felt safe and protected. The proceedings were going very slow: lots of rescheduling from the opposing side, attorney substitutions, and the most annoying was that if you think you have an agreement with the opposing side, it doesn’t mean anything unless it is all put into paper and signed. While helping my brother with his divorce, I attended several meetings with Constantine and was very impressed with how he conducted his business. He took a no nonsense approach towards obtaining a full understanding of relevant financial and family situations. This allowed him to make a fair and timely settlement offer that aligned with guidance provided by California court systems. We had lots of questions and he was able to address them all and provide a thorough explanation behind each of his recommendations.
My brother’s wife took a much more aggressive approach, asking for everything and in my opinion stretched the truth. When I hired Richard the state attorney's office was offering me 3 years probation with an adjudication of guilt, I'd lose my civil rights for a 3rd degree felony, even though I don't have an extensive criminal history and the only prior history was 20 years old. I specifically hired Richard because I wanted the judge to order the probation department to verify employment through pay stubs and when I mentioned this to the public defender assigned to my case she had no idea that that was even an option.
Richard ended up getting the employment verification through pay stubs, as well he also got the state to agree to adjudication withheld, meaning I keep my civil rights, plus 18 months probation that will automatically terminate when a small amount of restitution is paid, meaning I will spend a total of 5-days on probation.
I'll definitely use Richard in future legal matters as well as recommend him to anyone I know who needs a competent attorney.

My husband is a youth offender and he has been in prison for over 24 years, he had his 1st board hearing July 7, 2023 and he was found situatable. Ms. Letarte did an amazing job preparing my husband and giving us the family guidance and templates. My very 1st call to her was one of the best experiences I had.
