I was blessed to work with attorney/judge Barber, his wife Patti and Darla. I gained a remarkable respect for both the professionalism and humanitarianism practiced in this firm. Leaving my job here, for an advanced position I felt led to take at that time, I still cried the whole way home and pray to this day that I was led along the right path. Mr. Barber is an attorney whose caliber surpasses all others. That's said from a legal support staff with 20+ years experience.
During my time employed by him, I learned how it was our job to ensure that the law enforcement and DAs jobs were getting done. No stone was to be left unturned in defense of our clients...right or wrong. Every person is entitled to a defense...right or wrong. He gave it his all and we all slept well no matter what the case.

Taylor and the rest of the team at May Potenza Baran & Gillespie were absolutely great to work with! They helped us with the sale of a business and lease negotiations. Throughout the process they listened to what we had to say and provided guidance on matters we were unfamiliar with.
We always felt they represented our best interests and they never pushed us to accept terms from the other party we weren't comfortable with. Having them in our corner helped relieve some of the burden of an otherwise very stressful process. Mr. Jason Coker represented my case for an outstanding bench warrant that was very concerning to me. There was a real possibility I could have been remanded into custody and have to post bail. Jason was very conscientious and gave me careful instruction on how to proceed with the matter. He then went before the judge on my behalf and deftly dealt with the case, and got me the result I wanted. I was not taken into custody and only had to pay the fine I owed the court. I got my first DUI, and had no clue what to do. Not only was Jason Coker completely capable of handling my situation, but he also made me feel comfortable and more secure about my situation. I was charged with my first DUI with a .1 reading on the breathalyzer at the scene. My situation looked bad, but through it all Jason got my case down to a wet reckless and even struck a deal where I didn't get a breathalyzer put in my car. He is a highly qualified lawyer and a great guy. I'd recommend him to anybody.

Mike is a great guy and a good lawyer. He is very personable and I have used his advice many times. What I really liked about Mike was that he professionally put a quick end to opposition's attempt to cause problems and cost the client's money during divorce. I needed legal counsel for each of my older teenage boys, both for separate issues within a two year period (2014 and 2016). My first phone call to Wade was a message of urgency I left on his voicemail at 2am one morning because my son had been arrested and was in jail. Wade returned my call by 8am and began working for us immediately, which included visiting my son in jail. He took the situations with each of my boys seriously; he was eager to help and was great with keeping us informed, we didn't feel like just another number. My son's crimes were wiped of their permanent adult record and their probation terms were reasonable as well. He is extremely confident and knows what he is doing, he told me he never lost a felony case in his long career, and to my expectations I walked away from my serious legal problems ( 11 felonies) .

I was pulled over in KCMO for 11mph over the speed limit I called a couple of attorneys and Larry, Larry was very outgoing and professional he explained to me the process of getting it reduced to a non moving violation told me his rate which was very affordable and contacted me later advising me it was done and what steps were required on my end. During this procedure I had gotten a promotion and had Larry and his office not called me I would have forgotten about the ticket fine. He was able to get an extension and at the conclusion of this I let Larry know he would be my first call from now and and would definitely recommend him to anyone needing his services. Originally I started with a lawyer where when we showed up to the first court appearance the Judge shut us out didn’t let that attorney speak, and didn’t want to hear anything she had to say! I’m so glad she chose to transfer the case to Jessica Lasky. This amazing attorney came in like super woman throwing blows to the entire court system. Fortunately she is well experienced with the DA and knows a lot of things that normal attorneys aren’t familiar with. David and Chris are consummate professionals. I was referred to them by my former attorney who couldn't take my case. I sat down with them, laid down the facts and asked if they could get me 'X'. He didn't guarantee it but he felt he had a pretty good shot at it and outlined the steps we would take. I was satisfied, signed the retainer, and then Chris and David completely took it off my shoulders. Showed up for all of my hearings for me (3 in total) and got my misdemeanor reduced to a civil infraction so nothing criminal on my record. This was a traffic issue and was kept off of my insurance so no rate hike either.

Going through a custody battle can be confusing, exhausting and stressful. Especially, when you find out two months to trial the other side retained an attorney.
I decided it would be best to seek some form of counsel. I was referred to Mr. Tsakataras through another attorney. I immediately called because I had been praying for guidance, and this attorney gave him a stellar recommendation. I did my own research while awaiting the consultation meeting. His reputation was incredible! He has EXTENSIVE experience in custody matters. He has state / federal contracts in the family court system. This man has earned the respect; and you only do that by working hard! So, everything in me said “THIS, is exactly WHO you need to talk to!”
Fast forward to the Monday we were meeting, we ended up rescheduling because an emergency hearing was the following day he had to prepare for. I was timely notified by Steven (his paralegal) and informed of what was going on. How could I even be upset? That’s the type of person you WANT on your team. Somebody who is DEDICATED to your case and will FIGHT to see the best outcome.
Finally, it’s the day of the consult, he called me in a timely fashion; and he let me know how the process works; 50 minutes, i had already sent all my documentation to him- so even though it was via phone; it was as if I was in the office.
He told me the retainer fees, and asked me if I wanted to be prepared, OR, if I would be able to pay the fee. I opted for preparation as trial is set for next month and the fees as a result was going to be very high.
During this consultation, he outlined in details which factors are the factors I should be focused on, how to highlight them, how to present them to court. He gave me valuable information that you really can’t put a price tag on. Once the 50 minutes was up, he did not rush to get off the phone. He made sure I was able to take very detailed notes, giving me dates, telling me how to get things admitted into court and before the judge.
I feel very confident in my case, however, he has made my confidence level boost while fright of the attorney has diminished.
I 110% recommend this attorney and I am so glad I had the opportunity to speak with him. It’s evident that he cares a lot more about the people he HELPS than he does about the money; I can only pray he continues to have great success in all paths of his life and continues to be blessed.

Have Been battling addiction for years and back in August 2023 I received my third DUI, and was facing 18 months in prison. I followed what Mr. Hines insisted. Went into rehab, started therapy and intensive outpatient and now have over four months clean and no prison or jail time. He also helped me find my amazing AA young peoples home group. Michael Hines truly cares about his clients and is the BEST lawyer truly. If it wasn’t for him I would be in prison and not with my daughter, and I wouldn’t have four months of sobriety. If you are looking for a defense attorney, I would highly recommend 10 out of 10.

My divorce was in the middle of trial. The opposing counsel was very aggressive and I desperately needed a more zealous and aggressive representation of my case. I contacted Michael Hines over the weekend and he replied immediately and readily agreed to take on my complex case. I had a reckless driving ticket with some other DUI complications. I found Byron on Yelp. He was quick to respond to my request for help. He gave me some idea of what to expect and the potential results. He knew his stuff. They were scary but not guaranteed. I didn't like the idea of going to jail for six months and that was looming over my head. He was able to get the charges and fines reduced and keep me out of jail. I was expecting the worst outcome and actually got the best outcome. Mr. Depersia and his staff were always courteous and professional. Before even hiring Brendan he went through the effort to research information regarding my case and followed up with knowledgeable answers to all my questions, something no other attorney I spoke to at the time had done. He was personable, always willing to take the time to address any of my concerns, and responded promptly to calls and email. I had a very serious case in which jail time was on the table and had Karen not been my lawyer, I couldn't have said that I wouldn't serve time. I was facing two felonies and a misdemeanor. It took me a while to write this review because being arrested is a difficult experience and I've had a hard time looking back on it, but I'm writing it now because Richard went above and beyond for me when I really needed someone.
After I was arrested Richard came to court immediately to help me and got me released from the holding cell within 30 minutes on a personal bond, meaning I didn't have to pay any bond. Had he not jumped into action right away I would have been stuck by myself in that holding cell over the weekend.
Richard is an attorney who truly cares about the rights and freedoms of the people he represents and I am so grateful he was there to help me when I needed him.

There really is no words to explain what an exceptional lawyer Dan is. Little history on my story/experience with Dan; I was dealing with a case with a different lawyer that did an awful job. I then came into probation violation and it was a very complicated case where I had technically 4 violations. A warrant was set out for me. I was allowed to move to another state for school and the court was going to take me back to Illinois. It seemed truly like a case that NO WAY I could win. But then Dan did his thing. Dan not only was able to SQUASH my no bond warrant, he was able to let me stay in the state I reside in currently AND got me off of probation and under supervision instead! I have no clue how he was able to do so much but he made it work. And having dealt with a bad lawyer I really know the difference between a good and bad one. When we deal with court it’s scary. You want a lawyer that will respond fast, give their all to defend you and try to get the best outcome possible, and one that gives you RESPECT. Dan did all of these things and I can’t thank him enough. If I had to return to Illinois I would have lost my school, apartment, job and I would most likely have been living out of a car and really losing all the goods I have in my life out here in the state I reside in.
