Mr. Brown took a case of mine involving an incident on I-12. After getting involved, he helped guide the process, worked diligently behind the scenes, and always communicated the next steps. As someone who has struggled with anxiety, this was one off my plate. The court involved process is a long one and can be intense at times. I’m glad Mr. Brown helped handle that process so I could continue with my job, daily life and family. He saved me from an extensive rough journey.

If I could leave negative stars I would! Called hoping to have a consultation with this attorney and instead was sent to his assistant who wouldn't even listen and was telling me I had to hire the attorney first before getting the attorney's plan or before the attorney would tell me what they could or would do with my case. I have no idea if this attorney is any good or not because I wasn't even able to get past his rude and snotty assistant!!! Didn't want any info on what happened wanted money up front. Unreal

Benji (the paralegal) is AMAZING to work with! His demeanor is so welcoming. He is competent and knowledgeable. I feel extremely comfortable talking to him. I am confident Jason Hubbard Law will expedite the eviction process. I feel the overall cost is reasonable especially when dealing with a repeat eviction offender. Never thought I would want to have cocktails or a beer with law firm folks, but their staff is fantastic!

Had a very different/ difficult situation happened where my son was served with a three day eviction from this law firm by my soon to be ex husband, I went to Jasons firm and asked him to explain what this meant. I told him the situation ( which was completely different then what the person trying to file the the eviction had told Jason ) and Jason made it right, he took the time to explain things very thoroughly! There was some slight miscommunication when my son called but Jason actually cares about his business / reputation and handled it professionally and made everything right! This situation was a perfect example of how communication is key, and Jason listens and isn’t just after any job for money, he truly cares about what he does!

I was in an automobile accident in April of this year. My car was rear ended with me and my two children in inside. My two children were not injured by very much shaken. I on the other hand injured my shoulder pretty badly. After a visit to the ER I contacted R.M.B the very next day the that the accidnt happened and got Sarina Mitchell as my representative. She was very efficent and quick in her responses. I was treated so well and professionally! I had never been in this type of situation before and didnt even know what the first steps were but she walked me through and explained every process. Not only did she get me a settlement within 6 months after my accident, following many doctors appointments and physical therapy, but she was also able to get me well over what i had thought id receive! If i ever encounter another incident like that (knock on wood that never happens again) i know exactly who to call and ask for!

I was the unfortunate victim of an auto accident back in April of 2023. And upon finding out that my foot was broken I started researching accident lawyers in order to handle my case. I came across Ross, Midian, & Breitmayer and honestly am 100% happy that I did. Sarina (paralegal/ my main point of contact) was extremely helpful and her level of communication was second to none. The only complaint I have during this is the fact that the insurance company took so long to process my claim (about 11months). But that does not reflect the level of service I received while being a client for R,M,&B. If you are in a need of a legal team that cares about there clients than look no further than Ross, Midian, & Breitmayer, LLC.

STAY AWAY!!! A grievance has been filed with the State Bar of Texas. I retained Andrea Casares on March 10, 2023 to transfer an out of state child custody case, this was the first step. Thereafter she was going to file for an enforcement and modification as my visitation rights with my children were continually violated. I made it clear during my initial visit that time was of the essence, and was told by Andrea that this process will take a few months. I have much respect for the lawyers I called previously, as they stated they did not have the resources to take on my case for the attention that it deserved. After so much back and forth checking on the status, then finding out paperwork was incorrectly filled out by her staff which added to delays, waiting and waiting...I finally get a court date on March 6, 2024. A YEAR LATER! During the court session, it was at this time the opposing party filed for a continuance since my children just left for a cruise with their mother that same morning during my Spring Break visitation. Sad part, my father passed away during this period in which my children should have been with me and their grandfather. I expressed my disappointment to Andrea and mentioned if I would of known what I know now, I would of sought another lawyer. A few hours later, she sends me a Motion to Withdraw as Counsel, essentially dismissing me as a client. Reasons cited for, "unable to effectively communicate" and lack of payment. I never received any invoice, letter, or email stating I owed a balance. After all my correspondence to her and her staff, I'd figure someone at some point would of mentioned something. Mind you, I even met with her in person for the first time during my one and only court date, and still no mention of anything. After all, what results have I received thus far? A grievance has been filed against Andrea with the State Bar of Texas. Her duty to serve the best interest of the client are contrary to the Model Rules and Professional Conduct set by the American Bar Association.

She referred me to a lawyer by the name of Jad Harper who is a complete scammer. I paid $2500 payment for him to represent my husband in court. Jad Harper never showed up no paper worked filed or nothing. He was paid on a Wednesday and my husband was due in court on Friday. He waited until 11 at night to try to contact my husband’s court appointed attorney. Then when Friday came for court he had excuse of he was trying. He assistant contacted and told me himself that Mr. Harper did not represent my husband and that nothing was done. I attempted to Mr. Harper several times and was told he was only giving me $1875 of my money back. I even sent over emails and everything. Still no full refund. I’m giving her a one star she referred him to me.

I’ve definitely been told things that just where not true at least from what I can see from the text and emails. If you fire Shults and Shults you have to take the firm to small claims court to get your money back. I would suggest to NO ONE to use this firm. If you do good luck. No representation. It took months just to draw up a draft. Don’t use em.

I don't want to be harsh, and I do understand they most likely have a huge case load, but these guys won't tell you that. They don't have enough Etiquette to say, "I'm sorry, I don't have time for you. may I recommend another attorney?" They won't call you back or respond to emails. Two weeks wasted chasing much needed "representation" incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. Can't get that time back, especially when time is of the essence. While our initial consultation made me feel heard and supported, it has been nearly four months since our last contact despite multiple attempts to call, text and email. I've been left hanging without the agreement I paid for and have been forced to seek for and hire another attorney. As much as I understand that life happens and he may truly be unable to help me at this time, I've paid for a service and believe I deserve an explanation, at minimum, as this significantly impacts a very sensitive situation.

He seems like he might be a nice guy, but after he agreed to take on our simple case, we've only progressed inches in the 6 months that we hired him. It takes him weeks to respond to emails (after I've sent multiple follow ups) and it's been a month since we cancelled his services, requested our invoice and a refund of the retainer we paid him, and we still haven't received it. Again, probably a nice guy, but I've been nothing but tirelessly disappointed since hiring him and would recommend people look elsewhere for their legal needs. All his 5 star reviews are from years ago. It's a shame he takes people's money and then just disappears. You get people's hopes up, John, on very personal and sensitive matters. Maybe you should start saying no to people if you're too busy to actually help them.

I’m very thankful for Lovelace Law. They took my case on during a difficult stage in litigation and when I had to move on from a previous attorney who was way overpriced and gave bunk legal advice (watch out for KR). I had a contentious and emotionally sensitive probate case, and they handled everything with the attention, legal expertise, and professionalism I thought I had been paying for from the beginning. They got me to the finish line and my only regret is not having hired them from the beginning. A special acknowledgement to Abby Butts who was especially strong during settlement negotiations.

One star because Cade looks like a less-handsome version of Quagmire from Family Guy. Excellent rate? I don't think $99 for full representation during the entire course of my divorce proceedings, however, did not live up to the Lovelace web site. My ex paid her attorney a one time fee of $20.00 and the divorce was a success. We are no longer married, so why did Lovelace charge me $99 for real? I was overcharged $79.00 by a shady divorce attorney. Don't pay extra like I did. Find the $20.00 divorce attorney and get the same result as this guy charging $99.00. Fifty used to be the going rate, but there are so many more divorces now. Lovelace has got to be kidding me charging $99.00 like it's something special. It's just a divorce! Same result wether you pay $50 or $20, but $99? Hell no.

This firm enjoys harassing local businesses. Mr. Adam Miller has been trying to enforce and invalid subpoena for the past 5 months. TRYING is the important word. His shortcomings with paperwork could mean the difference in your case. Use at your own risk!! I would not use an attorney who cant even force someone to produce the evidence needed to defend you or win your case.

In early Jan 2023 I was scammed for a large sum of money. I filed a police report with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO). The report was forwarded to the BCSO Economic Crimes Task Force for investigation. The sheriff’s office located the money and initiated legal steps to seize the money. The BCSO sent me a letter stating they had seized the money and it may be eligible to be returned to me by filing a sworn petition IAW FL Statute 812.061 with the judge supporting Brevard County. I attempted to contact the Brevard Clerk of Courts to get information on filing a petition. They did not help at all and would not reply to my emails. At this point I decided I needed an attorney. My daughter recommended Attorney Nicholas A, Vidoni. I met with him and we discussed my case. He agreed to help me. He drafted a petition to present to the court and included words stating the scammers exploited me as a vulnerable adult. This would allow me to collect my attorney’s fees, court costs and such other relief as the court deems just and proper. The judge agreed. At this point Nick had to negotiate with BCSO to have my attorney’s fees, court costs and such other relief as the court deems just and proper awarded to me. Through Nick’s tenacity and knowledge of the law he recovered my money and the costs incurred by him. My lack of knowledge of the legal system was overcome by Attorney Vidoni and his knowledge of the law. He kept me informed of what was happening from the time I hired him to actually receiving my money back. I will use his services in the future for any legal help I require.

I am certainly glad I have never had to deal with Hoyt Samples in the lawyer sense, but I can comment on his inability in being a landlord. Him and his wife, Mitzi, were the worst landlords a.k.a. slumlords my family and I have ever had to deal with. From Jan '21-Mar '22 we rented 1034 Red Robin Lane in Chattanooga from the Samples. 3 weeks after we moved in, we woke up to a swimming pool of water in the kitchen from a broken sink pipe. notified them immediately and they acted like it was our fault, asking" what did you do" and asking to send them pictures, like it was impossible to understand. Took 2 days for them to get a plumber out there, so no kitchen sink for 2 days for family of 6, unreal! Next the plumbing in the house is God awful. Toilet's never flushed properly, why... because after several complaints the plumber came back out and found chunks of pvc piping in the line. Leaking bathtub faucets, backed up sewer lines in the house, black mold in the house, and above all that, ... these people will nickel and dime you on getting your security deposit back, if any. If he practices law the same way he is a landlord, surprised he hasn't been disbarred.

I am writing this review to express my profound frustration and disappointment with the legal services provided by Attorney Andy. My experience has been nothing short of infuriating, and I feel compelled to share my feelings. From the outset, the lack of effective communication has been maddening. My attempts to engage in meaningful dialogue were met with silence or, at best, delayed and inadequate responses. This level of disregard for a client's concerns is not only unprofessional but also deeply aggravating. Financial matters added to my exasperation. Despite providing a detainer upon hiring, I received no clarity on how these funds were utilized. This lack of transparency only deepened my mistrust and irritation. Moreover, the complete lack of awareness about critical dates pertaining to my case left me blindsided and seething with frustration. It is inconceivable that an attorney could be so neglectful in keeping a client informed. My experience with Attorney Andy Chen has left me not only angry but also deeply disillusioned. The sheer incompetence, disregard, and lack of professionalism have shattered any semblance of trust I had. I am appalled by the overall handling of my case and, as a result, would strongly caution others from seeking his services.

He was also very honest about how and what he could help with the case. Though we didn’t eventually have him as our attorney, his consultation has a very positive impact on the way to proceeding the divorce case. I really appreciated and I highly recommend Andy to anyone who needs consultation to hire an attorney. You may watch his videos, call him, and consult him. What a Debt Collection Lawyer Can Do for You

A debt collection lawyer helps individuals and businesses navigate legal matters related to debt collection. Whether you’re a creditor seeking to recover unpaid debts or a debtor facing aggressive collection actions, a debt collection lawyer can provide valuable assistance. These lawyers help creditors pursue legal action to collect overdue debts and ensure compliance with debt collection laws. On the debtor’s side, they help defend against unlawful collection practices, negotiate repayment plans, or file for bankruptcy if necessary.

If you’re dealing with a debt collection issue, a lawyer can ensure your rights are protected and work toward a resolution that aligns with your financial or business needs.

When Should I Hire a Debt Collection Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a debt collection lawyer if you are facing any of the following situations:

  • For Creditors:
    • Unpaid debts: If you’re a creditor (such as a business or individual) with unpaid invoices, loans, or accounts receivable, a lawyer can help you pursue legal action to recover the debt.
    • Debtor refuses to pay: When a debtor is unwilling or unable to make payments, a lawyer can assist with filing lawsuits, securing judgments, and enforcing those judgments to collect the debt.
    • Negotiating repayment plans: If you’re willing to work with a debtor to arrange a payment plan, a lawyer can negotiate and draft a legally enforceable agreement.
    • Legal representation in court: If a debtor disputes the debt or countersues, a lawyer can represent you in court and ensure your legal interests are protected.
    • Securing liens or garnishments: A lawyer can help you secure liens on a debtor’s property or garnishments on their wages to recover the owed debt.
  • For Debtors:
    • Facing debt collection lawsuits: If you’ve been sued by a creditor or collection agency, a lawyer can represent you in court and help you defend against the claim or negotiate a settlement.
    • Debt collection harassment: If creditors or debt collection agencies are harassing you or violating your rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), a lawyer can help stop the harassment and potentially sue for damages.
    • Negotiating debt settlements: If you owe a significant amount of money but want to avoid bankruptcy, a lawyer can negotiate with creditors to reduce the total amount owed or set up a payment plan.
    • Disputing a debt: If you believe a debt is incorrect or have been wrongfully targeted by debt collectors, a lawyer can help you dispute the claim and provide evidence to resolve the matter.
    • Bankruptcy options: If your debts are overwhelming and you’re unable to repay them, a debt collection lawyer can help you explore bankruptcy as an option for debt relief.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process can help you protect your financial interests and avoid escalating legal issues.

What Does a Debt Collection Lawyer Do?

A debt collection lawyer provides a variety of services depending on whether they are representing the creditor or the debtor. Their responsibilities often include:

  • For Creditors:
    • Filing lawsuits: A lawyer can file a lawsuit against a debtor who has failed to pay what they owe. This includes preparing and submitting legal documents, representing you in court, and pursuing judgments.
    • Negotiating settlements: If the debtor is willing to settle, the lawyer can negotiate a payment arrangement or reduced settlement that ensures you recover some or all of the debt.
    • Securing judgments and enforcement: After obtaining a court judgment, a lawyer can help enforce it through methods like wage garnishment, bank levies, or property liens.
    • Reviewing contracts and agreements: A lawyer can review your contracts and lending agreements to ensure that they comply with the law and are enforceable if a debtor defaults.
  • For Debtors:
    • Defending against debt collection lawsuits: If you’re being sued by a creditor, a lawyer can challenge the lawsuit, dispute the debt’s validity, or negotiate a more favorable settlement.
    • Stopping harassment: If debt collectors are using unlawful practices to collect a debt (such as threatening you or contacting you excessively), a lawyer can intervene and protect your rights.
    • Negotiating debt relief: A lawyer can negotiate with creditors to reduce the total amount of debt you owe or develop a manageable payment plan that suits your financial situation.
    • Disputing inaccurate debts: If a debt is not valid, a lawyer can help you gather evidence to dispute the claim and prevent further collection actions.
    • Filing for bankruptcy: If your debts are overwhelming, a lawyer can advise you on whether filing for bankruptcy is the best option and help you through the process.

How Are Debt Collection Lawyers Paid?

Debt collection lawyers typically charge for their services in different ways depending on the complexity of the case and whether they represent a creditor or debtor. Common payment structures include:

  • Hourly rate: Many debt collection lawyers charge by the hour, with rates typically ranging from $150 to $500 or more, depending on the lawyer’s experience and the case’s complexity. Hourly fees are common when the lawyer is representing either party in litigation or negotiation.
  • Contingency fee: For creditors, some lawyers work on a contingency fee basis, meaning they only get paid if they successfully recover the debt. Their fee is typically a percentage of the recovered amount, usually ranging from 20% to 40%.
  • Flat fee: For specific services, such as reviewing a contract, drafting a demand letter, or defending a straightforward debt collection lawsuit, a lawyer may charge a flat fee.
  • Retainer: For larger or ongoing cases, a lawyer may require a retainer fee ranging from $2,000 to $10,000, depending on the complexity of the case and the expected duration.

It’s important to discuss fees with your lawyer during the initial consultation and understand the total cost of their services before proceeding with your case.

How Much Does a Debt Collection Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a debt collection lawyer depends on whether you are a creditor or debtor, the complexity of the case, and the lawyer’s experience. General cost estimates include:

  • Hourly rates: Most debt collection lawyers charge between $150 and $500 per hour. Complex cases involving litigation or large amounts of money may result in higher legal fees.
  • Contingency fees: If the lawyer works on a contingency basis, they typically charge between 20% and 40% of the recovered amount. For example, if you recover $10,000 and the contingency fee is 30%, the lawyer would take $3,000.
  • Flat fees: For simpler services like drafting a demand letter or responding to a debt collection lawsuit, flat fees may range from $500 to $2,500, depending on the work required.
  • Retainers: For larger or ongoing cases, a lawyer may require a retainer fee ranging from $2,000 to $10,000, depending on the complexity of the case and the expected duration.

Always ask for a detailed cost estimate during your consultation to avoid surprises and ensure that the services fit your budget.

Top Questions to Ask a Debt Collection Lawyer

Before hiring a debt collection lawyer, it’s important to ask the right questions to ensure they have the experience and expertise to handle your case. Key questions to ask include:

  1. What experience do you have with debt collection cases?
Make sure the lawyer has experience handling cases similar to yours, whether you’re a creditor or debtor.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Clarify whether the lawyer charges by the hour, on a contingency fee basis, or a flat fee, and ask for a detailed estimate of the total cost.
  3. What is the likelihood of success in my case?
Ask the lawyer for an honest assessment of your case and the potential outcomes.
  4. How long will the process take?
Debt collection cases can take time, so ask the lawyer how long they expect the process to last, from filing the claim to recovering the debt or resolving the dispute.
  5. What are my legal rights?
Ask the lawyer to explain your rights as a creditor or debtor, including protections under laws like the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
  6. Will you personally handle my case?
In larger firms, junior attorneys or paralegals may handle parts of the case. Make sure you know who will be managing your case.

How to Check the Credibility of a Debt Collection Lawyer

To ensure you are hiring a reputable debt collection lawyer, take the following steps to verify their credentials and track record:

  • Verify their bar status: Check with your state bar association to confirm that the lawyer is licensed to practice law and has no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Look for debt collection experience: Review the lawyer’s website or professional profile to ensure they specialize in debt collection law and have successfully handled cases like yours.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Look for client reviews on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to see what previous clients have said about the lawyer’s professionalism and ability to handle debt collection cases.
  • Ask for references: A reputable lawyer should be able to provide references from past clients who have worked with them on debt collection matters.
  • Check for certifications or memberships: Look for certifications or memberships in organizations like the National Creditors Bar Association (NCBA) or other relevant associations that focus on debt collection law.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first consultation with a debt collection lawyer, it’s important to come prepared with relevant documents and information. Here’s what you should bring:

  • For Creditors:
    • List of outstanding debts: Bring a detailed list of the debts owed to you or your business, including invoices, contracts, or other supporting documentation.
    • Previous communication with the debtor: Provide copies of any emails, letters, or phone call logs showing attempts to collect the debt.
    • Contracts or agreements: Bring any contracts or agreements related to the debt, as they may be critical in proving your case.
    • Judgment information (if applicable): If you’ve already obtained a court judgment against the debtor, bring the judgment documents and any enforcement attempts.
  • For Debtors:
    • Debt collection letters or notices: Bring any correspondence from creditors or collection agencies, including demand letters and collection notices.
    • Payment records: Provide proof of any payments made toward the debt, including receipts, canceled checks, or bank statements.
    • Debt validation or dispute documentation: If you’ve disputed the debt or requested validation, bring copies of the dispute letters and the creditor’s response.
    • Legal summons or lawsuit documentation: If you’re facing a lawsuit, bring the court summons, complaint, and any legal documents related to the case.
