The journey through the immigration process seemed daunting and choosing an attorney seemed perhaps even more daunting.

I want to give my highest recommendations to Attorney Courtney Werning and her paralegal Elizabeth Robertson of the Meyer Wilson law firm. Courtney has represented clients who are victims of investment service company and broker misconduct for 11 years, so she is experienced and knowledgeable; she knows the players and the playbook well.
In my case, nearly the entirety of my retirement savings were used to purchase two inappropriate investments that were definitely not in my best interest (a private equity fund worth virtually nothing now, and an annuity). As a result, I lost a sizeable portion of my retirement savings.
There are means to recover at least a part of your investment losses, which is particularly important if it is retirement savings, but the barriers to recovery can be formidable. If you are to have a chance of recovery, you need an attorney with the knowledge and experience that Courtney has shown.
Just as important, you need an attorney who is skilled at guiding you through the process. And, if things are not going as well as you had hoped, you will need an attorney capable of helping you understand and process what happened and why. We had such a great experience with Jim and his team! We worked with Jim on the purchase of our condo a few years ago and decided to work with his team again when we were looking to move to new home because of our experience with them. Our new home purchase was a new construction home, and we could not have an agent represent us in the purchase so that heightened our concerns initially. However, Jim and his team put those concerns to rest fairly easily. They were there for us every step of the way – no matter how many questions we had or how many times we reached out, Jim and his team were always there to answer. Their breadth of experience made us feel so comfortable about every decision we made. From initially entering into the contract, all the way until closing a few months later, Jim always stayed in touch to ensure things were moving along as we expected or if there was anything we needed further clarification on. As we get closer to the closing date and things moved quickly, Jim and his team were always very timely in responding to any requests, whether from the bank, builder’s attorney, builder’s rep, etc. When we finally got to closing day, as nervous as we were, Jim made the process seem effortless. He was well prepared with everything we needed, knew exactly where and what we had to sign and where it needed to go. We finished all our paperwork for the closing surprisingly quickly due to Jim’s preparedness. We had such a great experience with his team that we decided to have them represent us in the sale of our current home as well.

If you don't mind chasing after people then they might work for you. But they think it's normal to emphasize that they're going to call you right back right now even though they (apparently) have no intention of calling you back that day.
After I followed up at the end of the day with the person who was supposed to call me he said he didn't have my contact info and (apparently) had no idea who I was. So it sounds like he was never informed about me to begin with, so I would have never heard back.
They tried to apologize and tell me I should still talk to them. At first I didn't want to but I decided to give them a second chance just to see how their legal advice sounded. That was two days ago, they just ignored and ghosted me.
That's not the kind of respect most people are looking for from an expensive professional. There are a lot of highly rated lawyers in Philadelphia, you don't need a primadonna.

I had a medical malpractice complaint against a Dr who left me disabled. It was not a complication of the surgery. He damaged an area that he should not have been any where close to. The expert was weak and really didn’t look at all the facts. They lied to me about going to trial. They did not even get the injury correct. When I read the depositions I thought they were working for the physician. I wish I never had hired them. I haven’t been able to work since the injury and we spent a good portion of our savings on Dr bills. They dropped my case after 5 years and it’s been impossible to find a new lawyer. I’m now trying to get a job and no one wants to hire a nurse who’s disabled and has been out of work for seven years. Not only has this physician ruined my entire life but these lawyers didn’t know enough about nerve injuries to take the case. They also printed up a fake trial date on a court document and gave it to me to make me believe we were going to trial. Who does that?

I tried to talk to Nik a few times about a legal issue I've been going through with my employer. On top of this, I was wanting to discuss just my rights in general as an employee and other things. I had emailed Nik a couple times and he didn't respond but I was determined to have ONE lawyer in Portland talk to me as a trans person. I paid Nik $100 ahead of time and wrote up the intake form with info all about what I was dealing with and other issues I was seeing in the trans community. I wanted help and to get what info I could out of a one hour session to help as many people as I could. Nik refused to help because I hadn't met a criteria but he also didn't read or acknowledge any of the details or questions I added to the intake form. He just offered to refund me and did.
I just wanted help. I dont want to grieve more friends because of shitty employers. I did get fired while on leave. I also got threatened with a 10 page psychotic letter calling me uncivil. This work ordeal put me into an IOP due to a suicidal ideation in June and I can't get anyone but my spouse to care. That's why the suicide rate is 41% for trans people. I don't wanna add to that but when it feels like you have people who specifically represent LGBT clients they'd show some empathy for them. Idk. It doesn't matter. I don't recommend Nik.
