Jana Fay is a fantastic attorney for your estate! She helped me during a very difficult time when my Aunt passed away and I was left with a lot to deal with. I am so glad that I was referred to Jana Fay for help in probating the estate of my deceased father. Living in another state, I wanted to work with someone who was capable of managing the entire process, limiting my need to travel to appear in court. Last February my mother fell and broke her hip, and I quickly discovered that everything we thought had been settled with her money years ago wasn't. The hospital social worker was recommending that she file for Medicaid and I just felt like she was being pushed through the system. I did a search on Google to find Nathan and from the first phone call I knew that he had my mother's best interests at heart. He met with us and laid out a plan that would protect her house from being taken by Medicaid and was able to get us some money back for recent repairs we had made to the house. He also helped her apply for some additional money from the Veterans Department which has really helped her and eased our fears that she couldn't stay at home. It also lets me get paid for some of the work I do around the house to help her from time to time. I couldn't be happier with what he did for my mother and me. He was thorough and took the time to make sure we were fully taken care of.

Nathan was referred to us by our accountant to help my mother with applying for VA benefits and we couldn't have asked for more from an attorney. He was so nice and generous with his time, especially with my 94 year old mother who has dementia and has a hard time understanding anything. I really appreciate how he came out to meet with her since she has a hard time traveling. She was approved for benefits after three months and it has given everyone peace of mind over our ability to pay for her nursing home costs. Ive also used him to create my Will and was impressed with his knowledge and ability to educate my wife and I through the process. He doesn't talk over your head, and I've learned so much about what to do and what not to do as my wife and I enter into retirement. He's one of the good attorneys who looks out for people.

Our brother died unexpectedly and shortly afterwards his long-time caretaker and the caretaker’s attorney produced a will that left our brother’s entire estate to the caretaker. My sister and I were surprised that our brother would not discuss such a big change in his estate plan with us beforehand and after talking to some of our brother’s friends, we were told that this will was suspicious and we needed to retain legal counsel to look into it.
Thank Goodness we took their advice and were very fortunate to choose Trevor Lippman of O’Neil Cannon as our representative. My sister and I cannot say enough to praise the hard work and professionalism that Trevor demonstrated. As this was the first time my sister and I had ever been involved in a legal action, we needed a lot of support and explanation. Trevor's communication skills are second to none and he answered all our questions and guided us through all the issues as they developed.
Our case was very difficult and required much time and effort to build the evidence showing that this will was not our brother’s work. With this body of evidence, we then entered mediation with the other party and were very successful, obtaining 88% of the multi-million dollar estate.
More importantly, Trevor and his colleagues with O’Neil Cannon helped us avoid a lifetime of regret in not knowing what our brother’s true intentions were. At first it seemed like a typical estate dispute, but we knew that here was something wrong with the fact that my brother would change his will so dramatically without letting us know. We had never had to retain an attorney and had many questions. Trevor carefully explained every aspect of the case as we went along and helped us understand the legal system. Trevor began the investigation and through many twists, turns and complications was able to discover that our concerns were justified and we were able to retain a significant part of the estate. A while back I was hit by a reckless driver on the freeway causing me to roll several times. The next day I had insurance companies calling me pressuring me into say how I felt. I didn't know what to say so I sought out representation. Over the course of my case, Mr. Maurer and his team handled everything from the smallest detail of the case to just "how are you today?" with the upmost care and attention. The entire process was stress free from the time they took over. I would receive updates consistently so I always knew the standings of the case. Saphronia was hired to represent my parents estate with a recommendation from the estate planning attorneys. She knew how to explain the laws and rights my parents had when they were alive and what they did to secure their wishes. Being located in Ohio and in Washington, she was able to communicate what was needed and what my brother and I could do to help save time. Saphronia and her staff were efficient and did not contact me with anything that was not necessary but was able to conduct business with precision. Saphronia had a way to explain multiple options and, when I inquired about different points or had questions she was able to answer me clearly which helped me make my decision. For a situation that no one wants to go through, Elder Law was a rock in my storm! I was a first time executor and no question was too big or too small for Saphronia. When I first spoke with Att. Stump on the phone he told me he would work his butt off for me. He exceeded that. I had tried to sell my house through a real estate company with no luck. I decided to try to sell my house by myself. Within a week I had an offer. My mother had Mr. Stilley create estate documents for her after the death of my father in 2002. When her health started to fail I took over her financial affairs (as I had power of attorney) and Mr. Stilley helped me understand my range of authority. Once she passed away in 2013, he worked with me to settle her estate. Since I live in central Missouri we communicated mostly by telephone and e-mail. His responses were usually timely and many of my questions did not require an immediate reply, so e-mail worked fine. He seems to have a busy practice, and if I needed a more immediate response I would call the office and if he was not available I could always get a response within 24 hours. I found his fees reasonable, think his work is good and I would use his services again.

My brother and I needed a lawyer to handle our cousin’s estate, who lived in Cook County and died without a will or any direct descendants. Sheni was recommended to us based upon another cousin’s prior experience. For our initial meeting, Sheni agreed to meet at a location convenient to the heirs and we came prepared to summarize our basic understanding of the scope of our cousin’s estate. After only a single meeting with all five heirs, we immediately agreed to hire Sheni to handle his more complicated estate….with NO regrets!
During that initial meeting Sheni listened carefully to understand our unique situation and during that same session proposed what she thought would be necessary for this estate, along with offering two different payment options for her services. Sheni was extremely professional and communicated in a way were all heirs quickly felt comfortable in understanding the work necessary and was through yet efficient with everyone’s time. My brother and I were selected as co-administrators and worked closely with Sheni over the next 16 months to have our cousin’s probate estate opened and successfully closed.
While we didn’t consider this estate extremely complicated, it had some unusual aspects and issues that arose but Sheni was always available to answer our questions quickly or guide us through our options. If she couldn’t answer them quickly she would always respond to acknowledge she received the request and when she would be able to get back to use, which was always greatly appreciated!
There were a few unexpected and sometime frustrating delay’s caused by COVID restrictions and the Cook County court system but Sheni always provided reassurance along the way. Even when we encountered a difference of opinion over closing the estate, a quick conference call and discussion quickly resolved any remaining concerns/issues. While we have little experience working with estate lawyers based upon this one experience, we couldn’t have asked for a better person than Sheni to work with to handle our cousin’s estate in a professional way and very effectively!
